    I created a draft with a generic name. Now the order is ready to ship and I want to change the name of the order to something more descriptive. How do I change the of the order from "#D1" to [Customer Name]

      Hi, Steve! Great question! Currently, there is no way to edit the order number/name of draft orders within the native Shopify platform. That being said, editing the order names (once they have been paid _or marked as pay later) can be doable by Hiring an Expert to make the coding change for you - shopify.link/RdA4

    Hey I have a quick question I hope you guys will see this because I need an answer today so basically do you have to make a draft order? Because if I get an actual order will it show in the orders tab or not because I didn’t make any draft orders and I have not gotten any orders so im wondering if I get orders will it not show because I didn’t make any draft orders?

    I have attempted to make a draft order and collect credit card information from a customer but i keep getting the error on no payment gateway being connected. However I have a third party app called Bankful connected.

    Why don't custom items in a draft order account for the cost of a product? Won't taxes be incorrect without stock costs... 🤔

      The taxes are sales tax and are based only on revenue, not profit like income taxes.

    But what if it’s a delivery, how do you add that and the charge for that?

      Hey, there. Thanks for your question! You can definitely use draft orders to create orders on behalf of customers you're delivering to. If you're able to get the email address of the customer, you can invoice them the cost of the order via email, and provide them with the product once they've paid that outstanding invoice. You should consult our resources on Draft Orders for more information: bit.ly/3WH6I01. Thanks again for your question!

    Im trying to figure out how to pay for the product myself and send it to my own house so i can see quality of the product before I sell it. I just created shopify sccount.
    It just says "Payment due later" in gray at bottom of page. Do i need to set up a payment system for Mastercard and Visa and all that so the site will give me the option to pay?

      Hi, Aaron! In order to accept payment on your store, you'll need to set up a payment gateway: shopify.link/zJ0K. I do recommend contacting your supplier directly to order a sample of their product rather than placing an order through your own store.

      @ShopifyHelpCenter  Před rokem

      Hi, there! Thanks for your question. As a merchant, you can create a draft order for a customer whose order was accidentally deleted. If you're a customer, you'll want to connect with the business to discuss what options are available around a potentially missed order.

  • @breakfast_club_records

    do i have to do this every time someone places an order?

    • @ShopifyHelpCenter
      @ShopifyHelpCenter  Před rokem

      Hi, thanks for reaching out. That is a great question. No, you do not have to create a draft order every time a customer places an order on your store. When a customer places an order on your store, an order is automatically created for you in the Orders section of your Shopify admin. You can then fulfill the order and mark it as complete once it has been shipped to the customer. Draft orders can be used for things such as creating a custom order for a customer: bit.ly/3pTFZRm.
