"Without a Song" - Carpenters TV Special Opening Number in TRUE STEREO

Karen & Richard along with Ella Fitzgerald & John Davidson sing the opening number for what was to be the last TV Special for The Carpenters. As editor for this event, Richard graciously sent me a remix IN STEREO of the entire special. A reminder: this is easily four years prior to the widespread use of stereo sound for television. You can see the video for this elsewhere on CZcams with the caveat that the uploads I've seen are about 3 to 5 frames out of sync.

I remember sitting in my home ec class in junior high listening to The Carpenters on the radio. Excellent memories of the 70s....

I have a feeling that copyright issues with synchronization rights are going to prevent the release of most of this material onto DVD. There are too many copyright-holders with a stake in this, and if even one says no (and/or demands an exhorbitant fee), then it can't happen.
