This is the type of content that people need to consume. Education information and entertaining all in one..I just grew 3000 new brain cells
Ed, I like how you articulate everything, I am from Tanzania, I support you Citizens of Kenya.
Well spoken Ed! Kudos for breaking it down in a very logical way.
Key takeaway…Our way out of this situation is fixing our balance of trade…Not over-engineering our debt headroom
We need people like you in leadership
The most important thing is accountability. That's why protests are gaining ground.
This is the first sober conversation I have had. The guest was impartial and educative. As Kenyans, we need to get to understand the whole budgeting process. All punitive suggestions begin somewhere and that is where we should hold our MPs accountable before the budget estimates metamorphosize into the politically voted and motivated financial bills.
Why can’t we have people like Ed Thiongo for president
This guy is telling us that we're screwed for life, just doing it in a very nice and professional way😹😹
he is telling us to go to the streets and do away with a akina sudi
Just like Congo (literally the richest country on Earth in terms of resources) and the rest of Franco countries are fucked for life by France and the EU, UN, UNHCR. I wish Gen Z would know that Ruto is fucked up just like his predecessors. They should continue with the energy but just direct it to the right problem.
Very sober to acknowledge that there is a bigger thing to look for. We started loosing it when we ddnt question the 4 trillion expenditure
We have brilliant people in this country but we end up choosing fools
Nice and very educative conversation. Shout to Edwin Githinji he was my classmate and football team mate back in high school. A very talented guy!
I'm enlightened so I can teach the illiterate, I long to hear you from you again , more grace sir 🙏
Thank you for opening our eyes on how the government collects money from us.
He makes David Ndii look like a kindergarten kid.
Thank you for this discussion
Mainstreaming economic sovereignty conversations like these is critical to get all Kenyans into a focused drive to get control of our economy back. We have what it takes to succeed globally but we must be united in tackling the issues weighing down our economy in the governance space that lead to the silly situation where we find ourselves in a very vicious cycle.
THE WAY TO GO Dr. #REJECTFINANCEBILL2024 #OCCUPYSTATEHOUSE
This was a very enlightening interview. The best bit was when he mentioned that beyond the financial estimates..there's the social bit where the current generation will probably limit the no. Of children they get due to the high cost of living that will be there ...limiting the population that pays the loans thereafter and it's such an eye opener
Please bring him back again for the Third Time. Make it consecutive if possible.
Many thanks
Wonderful video. Seeing those two men speak with such clarity shows what we're doing right
Eh eh eh. This is articulate and very sobering. This should reach MPs because l think some voted the bill without understanding it.
Dr. Kingori, you are going far, sky is the start for you. Asking the right questions and your English meeen! Wow...inconsequential😮😮 😂.So that is why bank loans are so expensive 😭😭means that people especially small business or young people cannot do business successfully.
They cannot borrow nor repay if they do.😮😮 Wow our kids and grand kids are suffering from what was done decades ago. Thank you sir for this. Please let's spread this information spread.
Ed , we need to hear you more !!
Very insightful knowledge ...thank you Dr Kingori /Ed Thiong'o for this.
This was one very mature and informative convo, thanks for enlighting the masses.
Creativity knows no bounds here. Keep pushing the envelope!

Thanks for sharing @Dr.King'ori. as always good content.
The only help our Government gives us as citizens for free without Taxation is TEARGAS & COLOURED WATER 😢😢😢😢
Nope, the TEARGAS and Coloured Water was bought by the TAXES you paid.
This is Deep and informative...
A Master Class👌
You're a genuine trailblazer! 🌌 _ "The greatest hazard is refusing to take any risks."

Another feed of teargas and coloured water from the government to common mwananchi who's trying to fight for their rights😢😢😢😢,,,,,kenya is really under Dictatorship rule😢😢
Hakuna dictatorship Kenya, 😅
@@WillisAli from my view it is but in economical sector😁😁
tuletee Jimmy wanjigi for a longer in depth conversation zaidi ya ile ya ntv
My wonder is, why has such been missing in mainstream media? Is it deliberate of by chance?
Politics of deep policy analysis is where our country must go. The issue of dumbing down manifestos to infrastructural development alone is very demeaning, especially in the 21st century.
Unless we deal with corruption no amount of good policies and money will help this country......no government official is talking about austerity before taxing the citizen
LEO NI LEO GUYZ
This is very good. The sound quality was a little questionable though. Manze angalia hapo.
Wow!
If the government had explained our economic crisis like this, we would have understood instead of all that went through during demonstration.
So whats the solution?
If this dept we are paying is from the 60s kwani we are paying for being colonised, paying for freedom? 🤔
The discussions are raising very distressing issues around how our national economic policies are messed up. My question is: what is the way forward?
Wow
Hi Ed,
I've heard you mention the IMF frequently. Does the China Development Bank impose conditions when African countries borrow from it? Do African countries give concessions to China in return?
There are no free loans my friend. But I don't think china specifies anything, just pay by any means. If you don't then they take the collateral.
Us borrows but mainly from its people and the the debt with japan, belgium and china is not a balance of trade but treasury bills
kama ni Ed i rush to listen
Tax based, non taxbased 😮i dnt know re fines
This was a very eye opening discussion. Ed has done a good job of breaking down this information into bite sized bits for easier understanding.
Wee! Wee! have i been in Kenya really? Do all these fools we placed in the government understand these? We need to wake up and put the right people.
Do you mean banks do not follow prudential guidelines when lending depositors money?
We have executive, legislature, and Judiciary proposing the budget then the Judiciary alone debates it. Should we have another body debate the proposal or remove them from the tabling a budget proposal?
Cannibalising GDP....means what?
Na umetuweka saana Kings?
Might as well be explaining the American economy: over leveraged on future generations.
Joh hakudanganyaa tax policy yetu si sisi tunamanage😊😂😂🙏
We know where That 2027 borrowing will go...
kindly add time stamps
Do we have anything to look forward to??Buana we're not angry enough.
Gen Z are brave at fighting for their rights as they should. Kudos. But they should take time to research why Kenya and Most African countries were created and are still held like that. International laws which were created by the British and allies were to continue ruling. The likes of Kwame Ngurume tried. Gaddafi was killed like a stray dog 😢. The predicecors of Ruto tried, except Uhuru Kenyatta who actually had fun with it by borrowing like there was no tomorrow. It is easier for Kenyan Gen Z to use this energy and information to fight the real enemy that to fight the current government who also can not fight the real enemy on his own.
how countries have wise men like this and end up with fools like ruto and parliament?
Whats his X handle?
Tupatene streets watu. This gvt is a joke.
hio penalties hufikia gava aje
But Ed 'where is China in all these 70% of Kenya's debt is owed to China, not America or the West?
Uhuru's tenure was Pro-China
Ruto's tenure is pro-west
