I remember seeing the "Great Rock n Roll Swindle " in the Spa cinema in 1980. Used to have a great chippy opposite it. Also remember going to Kenning s car dealership looking at the latest Rover's and Jaguar's.

Great video and history but I'm sorry that is spring Gardens not the high street, High Street is in higher buxton....

Don't worry I am aware, but there is an overlap with what could be considered a highstreet so I went with the easier option calling Spring Gardens the highstreet. The Spring Gardens is also what the council consider our highstreet, a little confusing I know.
