That non-sexual pulling out story was pure genius.
A stroke of genius as he would put it.
All of that set was fantastic.
The fish part was the best lmao
Too bad Dimitri Martin did that bit 10+ years ago
Tops C. Kritz Send a link?
"non-sexual"
Damn, he is so quick! When that women yelled out the frog thing I was like "ooh shit, there's no waay!" and he nailed it!
MomoShow I'm not a native speaker and didn't really get the frog joke. Would you be kind enough to explain it?
Titta Kokkonen
Well when a woman reaches a certain age she goes into menopause, meaning she is no longer able to have children. Mood swings are a symptom of menopause (i.e Irritation, anger, sadness etc). So when he aggressively said “RIBIT!” he was suggesting that the frog, that’s in menopause, is having a mood swing.
MomoShow Thanks!
+MomoShow thanks!
hahaha, scrolling through the comments your explanation nailed it as much as the joke did. job well done!
I once saw TJ say he was doing an improvised set. He looked around, said "no one here is wearing cargo pants." Then he did 25 minutes on cargo pants.
Which probably means he had written 25 minutes on cargo pants and pretended like he was doing improv
@@pts5217 The only thing that makes sense.
@@pts5217 Or he's an observational comic, so for him it's easier to come up with stuff based on his current surroundings than it is for him to sit and write material.
Almost as if he's pretty good at improv.
@@cdbleb7339 if he was actually good at this wouldn’t he do the opposite of only doing cargo pant material lol ?
@@InitialEngineers Maybe he was making fun of them because he realized at that moment no one wears those anymore
Personal opinion, that intro was way too long for CZcams Lol
But worth it
I agree.
I liked it
it was like a minute, relax...
@@ronnfig 2, which is a fourth of the video
This is better than most written stand up
He's smarter than your average -- stand up.
+Jonas Polsky ahsee what you did there.
+lastfog He's quickly becoming one of the greats. If you've seen him do crowdwork before, you'll know that his improvised material is almost unparalleled. Even stand ups that are vastly more popular than him (like Louie or Bill Burr) can't hold a candle to TJ's crowdwork and improvised material.
Ginger, I'd assume you already listen, but he's frequently a guest on "Cashing in with TJ Miller" and the speed with which he cobbles together jokes on there is inspiring.
+Ginger Fitzgerald I say he's already one of the greats! Just flying under the radar for most people. He's also got a sense of humor that is very 'love it or don't get it at all', so he doesn't have as wide appeal I guess... but I love that that's exactly what he wants and just keeps making choices that let him do his thing.
God, I fucking love his deliberately slow deceptive stoner-like delivery, meanwhile there are a million of ideas bouncing around in his head. This shit is gold.
“Idk what ‘cusp’ means, but I know it’s on the outside of corn”
That’s so underrated
Has to be so insanely difficult. Proves the intelligence and creativity is just off the charts.
Wasn't just a one word joke, it was a one word closer. Wow!
Pardon my ignorance... but I didn't get it. Did he say Ribbit?
Sarthak Khanna The woman in the crowd told him to say a joke about a frog with menopause, so he said ribbit (a frog's sound) but with anger
Felipe Ramirez oh god I thought she said “Menopausal Fraud” and couldn’t understand why he yelled “Ribbit!”
Men-o-pausal. Meaning he was a man who paused.
Frog. Where the 'Ribbit' came from.
The manner in which he said it. Stereotypical interpretation of a woman when she is on her period.
@@tapani1484 wtf are u on about?
For the love of God get Amy Schumer on here and just watch as she destroys her career.
What? No, stealing jokes doesn't mean she's not naturally funny, she clearly is. Miller is clearly above average in terms of creativity but she'd probably do as well as the rest.
She would just make every subject end up being a joke about her vagina.
She doesn't have to go all the way across seas to do that. She's destroying her career quite nicely on domestic soil.
sinekonata well if she was naturally funny surely she wouldn't have to steal people's jokes?
sinekonata smelly vagina and slut jokes aren’t funny.
"I dont know what a cusp is. I know its on the outside of corn okay!?" This one got me, that was so freaking clever
I knew he was funny, but I had no idea how intensely talented he is. That was insanely difficult.
That’s the thing, because of how insanely competitive show biz is, only a tiny percentage of celebs actually get the opportunity to fully showcase how talented they are.
I can't tell what I love more about this clip, the tremendous amount of talent he displays, or his hair
+OxInABox49 you can love them both equally...
how about the tremendous amount of hair he displays
OxInABox49 or the tremendous amount of talent his hair displays
OxInABox49 it's staged
sofullofpiss haha good one
TJ is amazing...
Yaa.. You should get him for Alex's new movie.. If you can of coarse😁.. Cheers mate
Hahahahaha you have 13 likes. Say hi to David huge fan😂
Btw big fan of your videos
facts
Oh yeah yeah
What a guy, a shear genius of a comic.
The timing on that excellently improvised one-liner "ribbet!"
After looking at that topic sighing and saying ‘sometimes in life you don’t know what the fuck is wrong with you’ I know tj Miller is one of my favourite comedians 😂😂
I love how they cut back to the other comics and their expressions just say "FUCK how am I gonna follow this"
He surpassed my expectations and impressed me
ABONESR This comment concisely reflects my feelings as well.
#redundancy
Funniest point for me was the Brits laughing at him when he said 1940 was the cusp of WWII, because for them the war started in 1939. We joined in 1941, so he's not stupid...just missing a bit of context, haha.
Nobody cares whether you were impressed or not.
Same here this was great
the non sexual pulling out bit was outstanding
My wife got me into improv comedy clubs and man, you can go 3 nights in a row and just not have anyone funny, but when you genuinely finally find someone funny I swear you will break a rib from laughing so hard. There are great storytellers like Kevin hart and Dave chappelle, but improv comedy hits different
Came here thinking: "I don´t care for this man" Left admitting: "He is actually pretty good!"
Mr Jee he’s super cool in person.
I think they just have him play stupid characters on TV and Movies. I like him much more than his characters
He's shitty but funny
He’s a dick, but he’s an amazing comic. They aren’t mutually exclusive I’ve found.
If you aren't at least a small fan of his you should watch Silicon valley the tv show....he as well as the whole cast is hilarious.
lol at the "which did not do well over seas" and then the finger to the british crowd
he's fab
Menopause is tough for frogs. They have to deal with really bad hop flashes.
underrated comment tbh
You would crush it with a crowd of dads
Well played.
Spawned a few likes with this one.
HA
i love tj miller and i absolutely love this concept i go and rewatch this every once in awhile. probly seen it at least 20 times. i wish there was more
5:33 "Sometimes in life you don't know what the fuck is wrong with you" Lol! Haha
+Dramangar ....The sad thing is, he's right and he's been there.
Dramangar
Anyone else notice he recalled a previous joke for "Time Machine Recall"? This is some brilliant stuff. More improv sets please!
John Holland Lots more Set List magic on our webseries on NerdistChannel:

+John Holland It is _fucking_ genius, my friend. Pure, unbridled, _genius._
Check out his podcast, there are about 11 million callbacks in it.
hey, you kinda look like bighead from the series :D
No, i am blind, retarded, deaf, and only have a 4 second memory. God do i hate rhetorical questions on youtube.
I love this. Comedians from different backgrounds/genres/times coming together and appreciating the craft/methods of others (as you see the entire concept to finish cycle instantly).
A true test of funny.
And he nailed it 👏
TJ Miller. Please do an hour of this per week.
Thank you,
Probably 8 people but do it anyway
dammit, I want to up-vote this so bad, but the 8 probable people have already been found.
usernamesareforidiot listen to cashing in with TJ Miller on iTunes
I didnt understand this comment at first, but probably 8 people in the audience due to Covid-19
He does it for 12 and a half people for about an hour a week.
To whom it may concern: He doesn't start until about 2:15 if you wanna skip the intro.
Greetings from the future. Cos everyone on here is so pressed for time?!
I was too late!!!
It concerns us all. Thanks.
"It's in the round. Had I known it was in the round, I would've used a lint roller on the back of my jacket" LMFAO 😂😂 😂
Came in telling myself "ok dont let your expectations get too high, remember hes improvising", but honestly this holds up against most written standup
This is the definition of art. It's one thing to write a comedic script from experiences, or songs with other peoples help, and rehearse it non stop until you perfected the routine, it's another thing to go out there with nothing, and truly make something special IN THE MOMENT...
Art Vandeley. So your definition of art is something only created in the moment? I think Shakespeare, Da Vinci, Einstein, Beethoven and pretty much any artist in history would want to have a long word in your shell-like. And yes, before you argue that Einstein isn't an artist. He really was
@@Hagg-o-tron I think he means "the art of stand-up" but all your points "stand up" lol
Yeah but I’d imagine it would still be really difficult to write an hour long special routine that got persistent positive feedback and continuous laughter throughout. There is many definitions of art, not just one.
@@Hagg-o-tron you forgot kyrie irving
First time I've seen him, but the guy had me in stitches, that shit was hilarious.
you've never heard of tj miler you have missed out
Watch Silicon Valley, he's gold. Lol
that 1 liner at the end was magical. holy shit.
The ending is so perfect lol he's amazing. "RIBBIT!"
This is the best idea for a standup show. One I always wished existed. Is this on TV? It should be
+KEVIN PIASTRA: COMEDIAN It was on TV in the #UK - 14 episodes for SkyAtlantic. (This clip is from that series.) The series also ran in Australia on ABC2.
We are currently trying to find a US network for the series.
SO glad you enjoy it!
+Provenz I wish Comedy Central would step up to the plate...they used to be all over comedians.
No, it’s on CZcams?.... what is TV? It’s 2019 lol
"Whose Line is it Anyway"
was generally centered around improv. People might not know the comedians who were on it anymore tho
@@matthewhill2360 A television is the thing you use as a monitor. Same thing. It's still here in 2020.
He's a legend! 🙌 Can't wait to see him in the DeadPool movie. 😎
Thomas Vogliardo a compliment to one is rarely an insult to another.
Thomas Vogliardo insecurity and elitism don't make good comedy, unless you're making fun of them
THATS WHY I RECOGNIZE HIS VOICE HOLY SHIT AH THANK YOU
He is a master at his craft! That was amazing.
I was so ready to be embarrassed for him because it looks so hard but he nailed it!
That last one was perfect 😂😂😂
I lost it when he started throwing out the movies he was in
And he didn’t even list Cloverfield, the only movie I know him from.
He does it a lot bc he didn't have the greatest roles so it's funny. He's been riding the Yogi Bear 3D-Train for awhile.
What about the deadpool movies?
@@tajbaber9425 favorite quote of his from Deadpool, "you look like Freddy Krueger hate fucked a topographical map of Utah."
Channeling the late Brody Stevens
I've never been much of a T.J. Miller fan, but this was fantastic. He should improvise his sets more often.
That was sooooo much better than I expected. Dude is funny.
Wow. That was tremendous. Much respect for TJ.
I'm on a TJ Miller binge watch
Mrius86 haha same here, and it’s 3a.m.
My God...the level of genius for you to pull something like this...T.T
Someone who is actually funnier in real life than in their comedies
I kept seeing this in my recommended videos for so long and kept avoiding it for some reason, and now I wish I'd watched it earlier
TJ is so good
Before I watched this video, I thought sure, I could be a standup comedian. After having watched this video, I am now confident that I cannot.
Silicon Valley, one of the greatest shows ever. TJ is perfect in it.
Was*
This was one of the most creative things I've watched. Props TJ
I’d had never heard of improvised comedy like this but as a fan of improvised music...this is AWESOME
the pulling out story was genius! it was refined like a really well crafted and rehearsed comedy bid
I love Tj, I hope he gets a series of specials and becomes a millionaire soon
woldead He already is a millionaire. He started off making a bit of money and a name for himself through his stand-up comedy, but then his agent had set him up with some movie auditions. The first of which was Cloverfield and that ended up getting him further movie and tv roles. He is worth approximately $4 Million at this point.
He has a net worth of $ 4 million, he's already a millionaire
Just like Sheldon to know the facts.
Yo, buddy. You just blow in from stupid town?
Wish granted, just needs more specials
the time travel story was so genius. i really thought he couldn't figure out a way to work in the recall, but the ending was brilliant
Epic job! You were great!
Jesus, he's brilliant.
really good standup, way over produced
This was excellent!!
That was AWESOME!
I was gonna go see TJ miller, but someone called in a bomb scare.
that's cos TJ Miller IS THE BOMB!
Am I missing a joke or did this really happen
He's referencing when TJ Miller got arrested for drunkenly calling in a bomb threat on the subway. I think after the sexual assault allegations came out against him he sort of went off the deep end a little bit.
Absolute brilliance
Watching a comedian this talented just riff is magical. Love him so much!
This was amazing!
Staged!
The whole set was performed on a stage!
Hardy-fucking-har. Did it take you all night to come up with that?
@@andrewrabbage4373 Who cares if he did, it was funny.

That's fantastic and so incredibly impressive. Just wow
That was actually amazing.
Tj talking to 911 dispatch: "This is 100% improvised."
So this is what Napoleon Dynamite did after high school.
Rufus of UFOMG! Huh?
That was so good, I’m now a huge fan
That sassy "Ribbit" made bust out laughing so fucking hard! This guy is one of my favorite comedians ever!!
“Art is a lie, nothing is real.”
-Bo Burnham
He's funnier when he has to improvise then when he actually has material
Burn!
That was very good.
Imagine performing under such pressure!
Huge Respect! I am now a HUGE TJ Miller fan
"i dont know a lot about history, and i certainly don't know what the word cusp means"
The REALLY funny thing is that he said he'd go back to 1940. Note that WWII started in 1939. So, even before he admitted it, it was clear that he doesn't know a lot about history. But that's ok...'CUZ HE IS PHENOMENAL AT HUMOUR!!
I did this, called it "Stand-Up You're on Fire," and did far better than anything I tried to pre-conceive. Cool to see it down by others.
Cannon Knapp Good name for it.
Brilliant. And thank you.
TJ, youre the best dude! I love you my guy. Thanks for all the laughs
he's so underrated. lightning fast mind
Turns out he's just an awesome guy with an awesome imagination. I hope to meet him by accident some day
Jesus, I could barely understand what these prompts mean. It's almost hard to believe that it's 100% improvised. Genius.
Yeah, no kidding. They could have elaborated a little bit. He didn’t seem phased at all, though
This was amazing
isnt this the dude who called a bomb threat at the airport?
Correct
He's way better just free styling and making stuff up. His interviews alone crack me up.
He literally nailed it
omg i am sooo impressed, frfr
"Improvise, Adapt, Overcome"
I wonder if he ever realized that he read the "safe falling out of a window syndrome." I think it was suppose to mean people who are terrified that a safe is going to fall out of a window and crush them. Also, I thought the menopausal frog was going to be a joke about the French.
Hahaha I was wondering the same exact thing.
I thought a safe fall was a trust exercise where you fall backwards and people are supposed to catch you to help you believe in people more.. so
Can look it up. We are in the 21st century.
I love his comedy. Bold, to the point, and clever. His comedy is literally for everyone.
This is gold, true talent!!! Bravo!!!!!!
This is just like when rappers "freestyle" They all already have tid bits and small jokes locked and loaded and string them together as they see fit on stage
but not really cause of the topics
You ain't seen Harry Mack then I'm guessing
I wish they didn't edit so much. Makes it seem like they're editing out the awkward pauses. I want to see that!
Everyone seems to forget he was also in Cloverfield. He was also the perfect foil for Deadpool.
What is a “foil”? Type of character?
@@jessereeves3120, yes. It is a character that a main character can play off of or is balanced out by.
