Emergency on Planet Earth, Return of the Space Cowboy and Travelling Without Moving, those are the first three and best albums Jamiroquai has to offer, i like later stuff too but i'd rather have the bossa-jazzy style of early Jamiroquai rather than the disco house vibe of latter albums.
Stuart Zender was indeed a big part on songwriting for the band, and it changed a lot since his departure.

Mr Turner.. The Return of the Space cowboy was Stuart on the album. You may be thinking of when you gonna learn from the first album. That was played by Andrew Levy of the brand new heavies. Space cowboy has a few different versions that were b sides and remixes/ and music video versions. But for sure we’re all played by Stuart Zender.

Better is pointless. They're both great musicians and they created something that will live past all of us. Thats the important

Zender is THE MAN. Gonna sound v arrogant but you just know when you know eh?, end of... I've listened to every type of bassist ... From j pattitucci, Edgar Mayer, NHOP, Jaco, Macka, JJamerson, Carol Kaye, T Levin, jp jones, pino , east etc and STILL Z always comes to mind as my fav. Anyone who thinks Turner holds a candle to him is just misguided. Gonna make some peeps mad lolol. Ain't even a taste thang... just the truth. The guy was magic. (Turner of course has great technique and is a v fine bassist, quite evident... just a different league compared to King Z.
