Lyrics:
What we're living in?
Lemme tell ya
Yeah, it's a wonder man can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doing for us
And I'm giving all my love to this world
Only to be told
I can't see, I can't breathe
No more will we be
And nothing's gonna change the way we live
'Cause we can always take, but never give
And now that things are changing for the worse, see
Whoa, it's a crazy world we're living in
And I just can't see that half of us immersed in sin
Is all we have to give these
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For these useless, twisting, of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound, for we all live underground
And I'm thinking what a mess we're in
Hard to know where to begin
If I could slip the sickly ties that earthly man has made
And now every mother can choose the color
Of her child, that's not nature's way
Well, that's what they said yesterday
There's nothing left to do, but pray
I think it's time to find a new religion
Whoa, it's so insane
To synthesize another strain
There's something in these futures
That we have to be told
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For these useless, twisting, of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound, for we all live underground, wow
Now there is no sound
If we all live underground
And now it's virtual insanity
Forget your virtual reality
Oh, there's nothing so bad
As a man-made man
Oh, yeah, I know, yeah (take it to the dance floor)
I know I can't go on
Of this virtual insanity we're living in
Has got to change, yeah
Things will never be the same
And I can't go on
Where we're living in
Oh, oh, virtual insanity
Oh, this world
He's got to change
'Cause I just
I just can't keep going on in this virtual, virtual insanity
That we're living in, that we're living in
And that virtual insanity is what is, yeah
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For these useless, twisting, of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound, for we all live underground, oh
Futures made of, now, virtual insanity
Now we all, we seem to be governed by a love
For these useless, twisting, of our new technology
And now there is no sound, for we all live underground
Yes, we do, oh
now this life that we live in
(Virtual insanity) it's all going wrong
Out of the window (living in)
Do you know there is nothing worse than (virtual insanity)
a man-made man
(Virtual insanity) there's nothing worse than
(Living in) a foolish man
(Virtual insanity) hey!
Virtual insanity is what we're living in, yeah

For anyone wondering how this all actually worked:
The original plan was to have the floor move, but the producer had the math done, cost of the floor movement system was around 288,000 dollars.
So! they came up with the idea that ended up being used to save cost:
The whole room is actually on wheels as the crew behind the video push it around to give the illusion of a moving floor.
The furniture also is bolted to the wall until it is time for it to move away from the wall, in which case a crew member quickly unbolts it.
Since the camera is attached to a wall you can see small shakes whenever the room starts moving.
Bugs and bird were added in post, as well as stage direction marks being edited out.
Song was also post editing, he doesn't start speaking until around the 4th word in the song.
One final thing: The illusion of the room moving is given away if you have a sharp enough eye to notice during the narrow hallway part, as the others leave the set the walls begin to shake a little.
Really interesting how they managed to do all this!
Wow! Where did you get all this valuable info. (I need a video to watch instead of studying algebra)
@titicad8938 Hey it should be on Jamiroquai's youtube channel actually, I could be wrong though lol. God bless!!
Fun fact: It's the walls that moves, they are mounted on wheels. Floor and couches are standing still. What a masterpiece.
The furniture probably also have wheels on em since they move when pushed against the wall
Was that big ass bugs mounted on wheels as well?
@@merciless972 it's edited in bruh
You can see the wobble if you look up at the ceiling
At one point, when the blood was pouring out of the walls, the crew that was pushing the walls around left bloody footprints that had to be edited out.

Whoa, really smart and pretty trippy if you think about it
Actually it was the floor that's was moving
@capn jack gallows nope. They even talked about it in an interview. Cost too much money to move the floor and a random stage hand suggested they move the walls instead so they built the room on wheels. And pushed it around him.

"Our future is made of virtual insanity"
Made in a time before the internet dominated everything, mans was onto something
I mean it wasn’t 100 years ago, computers, robots, phones, game consoles, and even Ai existed then. Ai has existed since before the 60’s, so a song about the world being dominated by technology is not very advanced for the time. It’s a great song though

Yes, this song was many years ahead of its time 😊 and there is a lot more to the words/visual and intention of songs than most people ever realize 😉 sometimes the people who write them are governed to write for a much higher force that they are unaware of. Creeping me out it's so accurate
This is one of the few songs I’ve seen where people in the comments are actually glad it’s being introduced to a new audience. It’s a nice change of pace & I’m glad we’re all here 😊
Yeah because of Family Guy and TikTok

이 곡은 정말 언제쯤 촌스러워질까 넘 세련되고 멋진 음악이다 뮤비도 멋지다
The director!! The same of Zone of interest.
This band is what Maroon 5 could've sounded like if they kept their artistic integrity
Like a different pop music act, yes
@@MegaZeta I mean JK kinda sounds like Adam Levine so
hehe "moron" 5
I was just thinking in the car yesterday this sounds like an older maroon 5 song
Adam Lavene turned out to be an absolute WEIRDO... having affairs on his wife and wanting to name the babies the names of the girls he had affairs with. Sick shit
When Jamiroquai is playing, your life gets 10x better, fact.
FAX !! I LOVE JAMIROQUAI !!
Literally listening to this banger to celebrate that my life got better today.
True
0 x 100 is still 0 unfortunately
That's a real fact
I love this song man.The video is so ahead of time! The way he tippy toe behind the couch was so epic! I wish we had more of it lol

Jamiroquai is actually a very big influence on the modern dance pop and funk genres. The producer Calvin Harris, who has collaborated with an unbelievable amount of current pop artists like Dua Lipa, cited Jamiroquai as the reason he started making music.
Not to mention: Carter Pewterschmidt
@@TheMuppetKid carter pewterschmidt inspired jamiroquai
they are also a big influence on the hip hop community too, artists such as tyle the creator, anderson paak , sza or even dojo cat cited them as reference :))))
Im literally learning today that its a group not just one guy!!😂😂😂😂
Calvin Harris is genuinely so insanely good its kinda nuts he just gets forgotten about now as someone who just makes the melodies for pop artists. His "Ready for The Weekend" album from 2009 is still easily in my top 3 Electronic House albums of all time. His singing alone on it is absolutely sensational
90s: "Oh, cool music video, jammin' song"
2020's: "Oh shit, he's a prophet."
Yep. I was a teenager using AOL (better then facebook) and I didn't understand the song when I heard it but I know now. I was one of the few who understood this crap.
Timeless u had to agree
Song was released 27 years ago. 13 years later, it's uploaded to CZcams. 7 years later, Family Guy makes a parody. Another 7 years later, that parody becomes a meme.
Thanks for the timeline!
1 year later a different part of the song became a meme
Like any other creature, it evolved to survive, and boy did it evolve well!
I know the song exists because of item asylum in Roblox

Hard to believe that this masterpiece is over 25 years old now. Seems like 1995 was just yesterday and I was in college. Miss those days. We had the best!
Wow. I couldn't figure out if it was newish or not. Great song. Sounds a little like Stevie Wonder. Looks like OK GO.
@@jebsmith323 Back then the lead singer got some irrate and pissed off when people used to say that. I back then thought the very same thing.
So not some. This phone sucks. Sorry.

@@chrispatty2025 I bet. Although being compared to Stevie Wonder is a compliment. I'm just glad that I discovered him now. I was too busy in the 90s to listen to anything.

Congratulations Jonathan Glazer🎉Oscar2024😊

The quote 'well it's alright now' while the blood is rushing is a great metaphor on how future problems are ignored in the present times.

This song was decades before its time. Jamiroquai was a genius.
Jamiroquai is the name of the band btw :)

so menacing
When the intrusive thoughts win and your reaching for the officers gun
When you're playing red light green light but you suck at sprinting
Me stealthily approaching the TFS 2 Sniper behind his back so he doesn’t notice me (he has 20 pounds of TNT shoved up his ass)

This was one of my favourite videos of the 90s and I just saw it was directed by the guy wo made The Sone Of Interest, one of the most harrowing films I’ve ever seen. Funny how it works.
This track is still SOOOO 🔥🔥 over a decade later!!! For we all live underground baby
This is one of the most iconic music videos ever. Saw this back when I could barely even remember anything yet this stuck as a young child haha
Yea the stuff moving in its own and the random GIANT bugs are really cool
Nah Jamiroquai is just so good that their music can eternally plant itself into your head
That and Fatboy Slim - Weapon Of Choice .
By looking at the comments, I understand why music is so magnificent. It breaks the barrier between people of different generations.
Indeed
Def...all these years later and this song AND video STILL SLAPS! 😍😍😍😍💖💖💖💖
Pay attention kids...THIS is what a talented creative looks...AND SOUNDS...like! 😍💕💖😅☺️😁
what barrier? there's only a fabricated barrier made up in the mind, likely predicated by the Media becuz they use it as a way to divide and conquer. "looking at the comments" ... people's opinions do not matter, only God.... and music is a gift given by the divine..remember where you came from!
Sweet!
Something about this song cuts through all the BS. I'm usually a metal dude but this song has got that something. Much like 60s Motown.
