I'm not usually a fan of this genre, but how fast the entire soundtrack has grown on me is crazy. Seriously amazing work!
Unironically based.
I searched this soubdtrack up because some reviews said it was "kinda cringe," but honestly it's pretty dope.
this is like the best one aside from interview 38 lol
admittedly, some of the tracks are cringe in a vacuum (see human sundae) but work in game extremely well
lyrics could do some work (aside from this track) but damn me this is like one of the best soundtracks for a shooter i've heard in a long time
Human Sundae, Break Shit, and Gonna Cut are a little cringe
But this one is legitimately great
Love the soundtrack. Helps put me in the mood for some monster slaughter
LYRICS (as best I can hear)
They turned a man into a
beast right in front of me
The only warmth that I see steams from the sleeve so bloodily
He's naked, see a black man pounding the pavement
Every crack in the ground is a burden he's taken
They're placing bets, spending their jets
Thin-haired bastards craving sweat
Salivating on a human marionette
Nervous fingers grip the cage they built and shake it
I want this man to help me break it
If not for me, then himself
but I doubt that the torture is aware of his health
I want wealth
'cause the goal of this age is to be the panting evil out there rattlin' the cage
I want help
If not for us, for our kin
And the little (???)s (???) before they ever begin
I want wealth
'cause the goal of this age is to be the panting evil out there rattlin' the cage
I see his eyes echo their lies as he denies
the truth of which I'm preachin'
I feel the grind of his fists inside me, reachin'
trying to find freedom in the blood I'm leakin'
He's tried before, he'll try again
in front of these men, in front of these
masters dressed as friends, in front of these
bastards who ascend into the seats
that we're giving them with every
dollar that we spend, and every
joke we let them trend, and I can see
that he's loving them as he still bleeds
for the selfish ends
I want a guillotine
If not for him, for myself
A whole river of heads
This is why I want wealth
So I can see our masters dead
Put your mother fuckin' hands up
If you're tired of wearing chains.
If you're tired of eating lies
for another broken day.
Put your mother fuckin' fists up
if you want a fuckin' guillotine.
If you're tired of being tired.
If your race sets man free.
If not for him, for myself
because I know that the torture is aware of his health
I want wealth
'cause the goal of this age is to be the panting evil out there rattlin' the cage
I want help
If not for us, for our kin
And the little (???)s (???) before they ever begin
I want wealth
'cause the goal of this age is to be the panting evil out there rattlin' the cage
I think it might be "torturer's aware of his health." It'd sound about the same and I think it fits the meaning of the song better.
(???)s (???) sounds like "devil's damned", "debtor's damned," or maybe "debtor's damned us."
I think the one big thing that a game like this has to balance musically is the pacing and instruments. The Noir genre is commonly associated with Jazz, swing and classical music; cultism and eldritch horror have a religious, hymn vibe to it (think distorted choir chants)
Where gang shootouts, criminals bring out more modern and agressive music (Rap, hip hop)
The acting balance between this is something most of the OST came out short on, relying too much on rap without as much instrumental support and vice versa
This last song though, is the sort of stuff i wanted from a game like this, hitting the perfect balance between the violence, noir and the tragic story of James Savage
since everyone would prob mock you for the poor spelling mistakes, let me correct your comment
