I installed our skimmer last week. The split second that I pushed the blade through the vinyl was stressful LOL. I envisioned the pool splitting and a wall of water pushing me across the yard and through our fence... Luckily, everything went great.
    Awesome video, thanks

I had the exact same feeling in my head. Glad it worked for you. Thank you for watching.

That’s the bestway sand filter model 58498E the bestway sand filter pump there is not that many parts for it. If the motor goes out on the pump bestway will send you a whole entire new pump. Only. If the spider gasket goes in the filter valve, they will send you a whole entire new filter valve so it’s a limited part so they don’t have that many parts. Some waves has a lot of parts the top portion not the whole seven position multi valve just the top portion any hoses use one half inch hose without the screw one things on each end so we wouldn’t hook it up or come with metal hose clamps. It’s like a Hayward Button smaller scale for 12 foot above ground. The hard side of pool has a timer also and the pump is energy efficient there is two boxes in the box. One box has the pump in there and your box has the seven position multi port valve. It’s technically like a real sand filter for you a Hayward pro sand filter system. You will have two boxes 147 position flow valve and no ones for the LX or matrix that’s a cool thing about summer waves. It’s like a real sand filter system for a regular above ground pool and they don’t share the same thing as the bestway or Intex Intex and bestway share the same thing

Great job explaining and showing us your process. Your placement of the skimmer looks kinda low. You are loosing lots of water height.
    Kudos to you👍

I was always under the impression that it should be below that top seam. Although after the fact it does seem that I could have went about an inch higher at least. I’m not too concerned about the lost inches of water depth. My wife and I use this pool to cool off in or to just relax on a float. No kids use this pool. Thank you for watching.

I’ll do a full video on the entire build. Look for it on the channel this coming week. Luckily our chem routine has been fairly easy the last four years. We use liquid chlorine, not powdered shock, and we use the chlorine tablet floater as well. All of the levels stay in a pretty good range. I do vacuum regularly as well, and backwash and rinse the filter after each time. Thank you for watching.

Turn the gasket upside down so the split is at the top. Top will usually be dry. Good video thanks.

That’s a good idea. Luckily I think I’m ok at the moment. I’m hoping it will hold out for another couple of months and then I’ll just get a new one for next season. Thanks for watching.

I had to get the bottom row screws uncomfortably tight to get it to stop seeping like that

Funny you say that. I got some of them uncomfortably tight as well because I started worrying that the plastic may be brittle.

I split my gasket but I thought the same as you with the leaking between the gasket so I put a think bead of silicone on backside of the outside gasket to completely seal once screws are tightened. No leak what so ever
