We're here for you and whatever you end up doing, not for your minecraft videos. It's important for you to remember this. You can pivot, adapt, remove, create, do whatever you want. So long as you have a social media presence, your viewers will stay with you. That's the thing that's so great about content creators who have that little spark about them: it doesnt matter what they do, how long they're away; we're here for you, not what you do, because whatever you do, it's still you.
I’ve never commented on a video, but I really resonated with this one. I loved the cinematography and the transparency, and I thank you for sharing your life, ups and downs. I’ve been confused on what I want to do in life, and it was really nice to see the progression of how you can end up in a place that’s just right for you. It was really nice to hear you talk about the times you didn’t know what to do, I feel a lot of people are scared to talk about though, even though everyone goes through them and there’s nothing wrong with it. It was wonderful to see how you took a break from Minecraft because you felt it would be disingenuous, and then you coming back to it, and genuinely being exited about it. I’ve had that too and it’s nice to know that you can give yourself breaks, and still come back to love it just the same. I’ve always wanted to travel, and seeing and hearing your joy about biking and traveling is truly marvelous. I’ve just been scared that I won’t get to do my dreams, but this video helped me see that if I work hard enough I can get there. I’m so happy for you and hope the happiness continues. The ending of the video was blissful and I felt so much relief and peace listening to the bird calls. I know this comment sounds insane, and it’s on an old video so it probably won’t be seen but that’s ok with me, I just want to put it out there. I've only started playing Minecraft about a year ago, after simultaneously burying my Dad and finding out I had cancer (they seem to have gotten it all in surgery though, so that's a plus), and your content has been both very useful and very entertaining! I've always thought that there is absolutely nothing wrong with content creators taking breaks from their channel. It seems like Mumbo made great use from his time off! I'm really excited to see what new vision he comes into making new videos with.
Unless they disappear for 5-7 years and there fanbase dissolves into nothingness. That can hurt. Alot.

feeling this! next easter i'll be done at college, and coming to terms with realising that while i have the grades i really just don't want to go to uni (at least not yet) and carry on as i have been has been a hell of a realisation, but a necessary one. i study art and i'd like to keep improving and make it my career, but college has left me feeling it's just a chore. sometimes a break is needed, and seeing how sucessful yours has been gives me hope too! i'm taking a gap year, and in that year i'm gonna just chill out a bit and try to enjoy life (mad impressed by all you've achieved these past few months, btw! hiking? cycling? crazy stuff!) and with any luck, i'll feel refreshed and creative again. i doubt i'll go to uni just yet even after my gap year-i'm an academic person, but unlike in those subjects classroom learning and being told what to create really makes me hate art LMAO-but i have hope that like you, i'll come back refreshed and ready to try and take my art to the next level. i know this video's a month old by now, but i wanted to say something all the same. well done for prioritising yourself and knowing when to take a break ✨️
Taking time off after high school can be a really good thing. A lot of people can't separate what they want from what the people around them want. Most people are a bit burned out. Most people don't know who they are or what might be a good fit. I had a ton of pressure to go right away and that first year went badly, then I left and took a bit of time to understand what I wanted and later when I went back I did way better.
This actually made me tear up, you’re one of my favourite youtubers and watching you find joy is amazing, it makes me feel kinda happy too :) Take as much time as you need
1) Being an instruction manual with a British accent is not a bad thing.
2) Only boring people get too old for cardboard rockets.
3) Realizing you were put on this planet to make stuff sounds like clarity, not insanity.

Over the course of 6 months, since Ep. 6, i haven't had the time nor the excitement i had for watching Hermitcraft videos. Though, i still waited for new episodes, Mumbo's playlist concerned me for how long nothing hasn't been added to it.

The cinematography is truly top notch, I learned more from Mumbo talking about filmmaking in the past few years than I've learned anywhere else through behind the scenes footage/interviews. Really happy to know he has the opportunity to pursue these dreams with such amazing raw talent at the get go!

My favorite videos of yours were in season 7. I first got into your channel by watching your __ doors in ___ seconds, then I watched hermitceaft for the first time (season 6) at my friend's house over a sleepover at around 1 am (I was 9 or 10 and now I'm 14) and I fell in love with your channel, soon learned about Grian, then scar, then other creators and I loved their content too! So glad you are back, thanks for the memories!.

You're a great content creator! I'd watch your stuff more if did you modded Minecraft content instead of Vanilla though!
If you feel like you aren't excited the way you used to be, then check out something like GTNH. It has an extreme amount of complexity, which I know is right up your alley, and it's popularity has really started to take off (it's pretty much consumed all of /r/feedthememes).
Even though most of your 8.5M subscribers have never tried to figure out the GregTech voltage system, I think they'd love seeing how you react the first time you encounter it. You could make videos showing exactly what kinds of energy losses are caused by all different components, and how it is affected by amps, and when to use diodes, etc.
If you made just a couple of such videos, and decided that you still are more entertained with Vanilla, you could always go back. I think that the slight change in focus for a week or two would really help you get focused again!
You're in your mid 20's, it's basically a legal requirement to have a quarter-life crisis! Great to hear you've gotten to explore different parts of yourself and have come out of it energised and happy.

Just watched your video and you talked about this one. Honestly Neo I love your videos been watching from at least a year or 2 now. I think you should try out new stuff and for let's plays videos shouldn't have a long gaps between them since that kills the excitement. I know you are busy with real life but what you can do is record 2-3 videos at your own pace and upload them timely not a huge gap between them nor too quick. 2 days gaps would be good. This us why I have a decent library of games I can go play. Eventually the spark comes back to play Minecraft. But a lot of times it's hard to play current day Minecraft because of all the changes to it.
Im happy your happy. Watching your minecraft videos help me relax and just think about stuff that makes me happy. Im also glad you took a brake when you knew you needed one because way to many people wash themselfs out of what they love doing and just never come back to it. Im glad you coming back to minecraft at your own pace, keep up the good work and in joy life my friend

Tbh... I'm not fond of this "need to upload" creators seem to have, especially the Hermits
Mumbo, Keralis, Grian, probably others I don't remember, they all have dealt with pretty bad burnout periods in the past years because they force themselves to create and upload on a schedule instead of focusing on enjoying, on being themselves
If you feel you need to take a break, do it, don't keep creating for the sake of it because it'll mess you up and could end up with you quitting what you love just because of burnout, don't force yourself to do something you're not enjoying - your community will love whatever you make, and will easily understand any decision you might have to take; it's good to take a break from time to time, never feel like you're "disappointing" your community because of it

I love how he says he's so bad, and yet because he's so open and honest, it's one of the better videos. It's been easy to tell something has been off this past year, and going back to the old content really shows the difference in motivation. But I want to say that I love the way you do visual storytelling, and I am excited and happy that you are both excited and happy to continue doing this. I love the way that you make videos, regardless of whether the content is about Minecraft or not. I hope you continue to enjoy the type of content you create, and don't feel pressured to produce when you aren't ready to. The hard work and care you put into each video can't be understated, and can't be underestimated. Take your time if you need to make such masterpieces!

There is one thing that makes me happier than Mumbo uploading, and that's knowing that Mumbo K. Jumbo is happy. I'm sad about the lack of content recently, but I'd be so much sadder knowing that continuing to make that content during this time would make Mumbo unhappy. Not because I put him on a pedestal, but because I see him as just a normal human, and one that feels just as much as I do.

For context I'm a 42 year old man who only got into Minecraft about 7 or so years ago. Most of my early excitement came from your videos; you showed what was possible in Minecraft when I had no idea.
I'm glad you've had time to get away and find some perspective, especially at this point in your life and I'm glad you have some clarity on what you want to do next.

I mean, look at Etho; he doesn't make videos crazy often or on any sort of schedule really, but no one cares about that. We are all here for you, no matter what you do. Take care, man.
Just makes me all the more excited when I see an Etho video pop up in my feed. Sure, sometimes I miss the days of 3 LP episodes per week, but I'd rather he take it slow and not burn himself out after 11 years making videos. Better two a month than none at all!
I was getting worried about you not posting videos a couple of weeks ago, so I checked around on your socials. When I saw your Instagram filled with the great time you've been having, I was so happy to see that you're well, and this video shows that so much. As much as I miss your Minecraft videos, it's amazing to know that you're in a great place and loving life.
You have a huge fan base, you can always upload different content you enjoy more now, and I'm sure most people will still be with you.
I remember watching your videos when I would've been say 14 growing up I'm now 22 and going through the same kinda life crisis in the times of watching your videos I've left, come back, played Minecraft and I haven't played Minecraft. I think sometimes we need to not say grow up but life changes as we live and experience new things. I'm with ya no matter what you do mumbo love all the car videos you've done rat pack, the audio quality is amazing. I love listening to those carby European cars roll around the country side.
