Thing is... There wasn't much showing off of the PC capabilities. You just showed a lot of photoshops, and 3 seconds of it running. Even as light as it is, benchmarks against your standard test bench and even a few phones somehow would've given a little perspective of the possibilities, rather than "it's really handy, take our word for it!!!"

Yeah, L double T has kinda gotten away from the informational and more raw data side of things, and has become a long advertisement type of channel. If there were more videos like the older ones, I might be way more interested again.

TWITCH Its just a completely useless question to get more likes/dislikes on their video's. Since a high number of likes and comments suggests a more involved audience, which is more interesting for advertisers, which leads to more add income.

I don't wanna be one of those "whiners", but hell, has this channel gone down hill.
    Reviews became "overviews".
Benchmark videos lack specific data and direct hardware comparisons comparisons.
    Unboxings are GONE.
    Ads everywhere.
Videos are shorter than my dick...
I know you're busy with all that's going on in your lives (changing the office, worrying about those guys not FUCKING UP you shit like they did to your wall, and managing your budget), but still...
Have some consideration for us, all I got from this video was ads ads, a joke, ads. I don't want to waste 30 to 40 minutes doing research on devices that I don't know, that's why I'm subscribed to you (and probably most people).
Things that lacked in this video:
    No benchmark comparisons.
While you told us the size, I wanted to see it side by side with a normal sized USB device.
Boot time, how it works, what programs it can and cannot run, easy of use, etc...
Edit: Since this comment got a lot of likes and will probably get more visibility than I wanted it to have, I'll just leave this note here explaining that I' in no way hating on them, I respect you as people and entertainers, just giving a piece of criticism.

I still like their channel, I've been watching them for a while, at least 3 years and, their production quality has simply dropped 8couple of months now)... it's hard for me to say this and probably harder for them to read it, because I directly implied that their later work sucks... I just hope this is just a phase, things will hopefully get better when they move to their new office and don't have to rush things.

Disliked the video because I could have saved 5 min by reading the specs and millimeters myself from amazon. Repeating 3 times the possibility to use it in a hotel room isn't super relevant to tech enthusiast audience. I would have liked to see: how laggy does it get, read/write speeds, download/upload speed, can you stream with it, can i watch 720p youtube videos, can i watch twitch streams, can i connect keyboard+mouse, can i play something etc.
Also begging for likes is annoying.

    • @Michael-yd9em
      @Michael-yd9em Před 8 lety +1

I dont know the read/write or up/download is but if you have a good enough wifi, streaming shouldn't be a problem. As for the 720p CZcams, you can because of its HDMI output. Keyboard, yes, although youll probaby need a usb hub. Also, thy worked on this video, so its only right that they ask for something small and simple in return for their content creation.....

Saw it, bought it. It's really handy to have your own computer at any time. It's really useful, like Luke said, in hotels or librarys or just at someone elses house where you don't want to fiddle around with the TV or their (slow) computer. And almost everything these days has a HDMI port. You can also carry around an adapter to DVI if some old monitor doesn't have one, although it's would then become to cluttered because I think if as something to have in your pocket or a tiny opening in your bag where you can stuff it in. For anyone who just wants something portable and can't afford a laptop it's really good. I mean come on.....It's only (at least now) 160 bucks...... Try and find a laptop equal to it. Also laptops are bigger :)

Ok, I might have found the best solution for cleaning your computer. GET A HAIRDRYER. But not any old hairdryer. Get one which is anti static and has an eco mode, which only blows out cold air. It benefits in all ways. You can dry your hair whenever you want and clean out your computer whenever you want. It's big but it saves big bucks on compressed air. The one I'm all about is only £13 which is about $20 and compressed air is is £5 or $7.75. So you save massive money. Just want to get this out there.

I have had mine now for a few months. It has replaced my other living room setups I used to have, including but not limited to Raspberry Pi and Windows Laptops. I even find that I use it more than my Chromecast because it just does more, it has not completely replaced it though. It does handle emulators such as Mame pretty well, and with a 64GB SD I have plenty of room for that sort of stuff. I hooked it up to a powered USB hub from where I have a USB to Ethernet adapter, giving me faster network and the ability to hook up multiple peripherals. And that is really the most important aspect because with that I use Steam in-home streaming with no problems. native 16:9 full HD resolution streaming from my gaming PC, with little to no latency, mostly none. Multiple XBox controllers for couch based multiplayer games or a mouse and keyboard setup for shooters, because normal people don't use controllers for shooters :P Jokes aside, it is a very useful little device as a thin client. Besides game streaming it does CZcams and netflix just fine. It takes a little longer to fill the buffer and catch up than a regular sized PC. If you hav a huge library of media and use Kodi for that stuff, it does that too just fine. In fact Kodi runs better here than on the Pi. Mostly I use it as a streaming device for pretty much whatever streaming you can do in Windows. Totally worth it.

Hello, I have a Question about my PCIe configuration:
My CPU(Intel Xeon e3 1231v3) can handle 1x16, 2x8 or 1x8 ando 2x4 PCIe lanes. I had my graphics card(GTX 970) running in 1x16 configuration. Now I needed another PCIe-1 extension card that I rarely use. So now it'll run in 2x8 configuration, right?
My Questions are if the PCIe-8 config slows down my GTX 970 and if it does if there is any way to change PCIe config on the Fly in Windows or in BIOS.
    My mainboard: Gigabyte H97-D3H
If theres a discussion about a similar topic in some forum or you know a conclusion I'd love to see an answer. Sorry about bad english, I'm not native english speaker.

Have a few of them at work. Use one in the confrence room so we don't have to have a big box computer anywhere. It just sits behind the TV, ready to be used.
They are shipping with Windows 10 on them now, as the free upgrade has a tendency to brick them. Overall it is a very handy little computer. Put it on your TV at home and keep a wireless keyboard and mouse near your recliner, and you can have access to the internet and everything a computer offers right there.

I know I'll get down voted for this, but these short 'read the amazon product description' videos are kind of pointless. Aside from that, if you watch review videos of the intel compute stick, you'll see it's pretty poor in real world usage for anything other than basic web browsing (it struggles with streaming) and powerpoint presentations.

While I like the idea of the compute stick and figured something similar to this would eventually come I am a bit curious if you could change the OS on it. I personally would not want to use Windows 8.... ever and would love to be able to install something like Windows 7 on this device. Even being able to install linux would be a bit better and yes I do know there is a Linux version but it does have a lower amount of ram.
Also would it be possible to use it as a CPU booster for an older system? Like sticking it in and effectively get more CPU power or possibly setting up USB hub with say 8-10 of these and making a personal cloud computing network?

tulp35000 These are not intended to be used for gaming. At work we are planning to use these to plug into 6 x 55" TVs that we will use for network/ticket monitoring and staff alerts. This device would also be a great for replacing obsolete PCs that are just sitting around 20 hours of the day to run a single legacy application. Digital signage, menu displays and thin clients are a few other options that come to mind.
