Hey Everyone - Thanks for watching! We've noticed a lot of comments about the summaries we're reading. Our summary writer wanted to give a bit more context, so I'm pasting her message below. We do know there is a lot of complexities to this and no one person learned about the BU the same way. In the end, we'll learn about it all in our own way 😊:
"hi guys, don’t worry ccw had the grand majority of the repetitive questions/comments from the videos cleared up to them weeks ago after the wings videos were filmed :) they were informed about the notes at the very start and also have since received literally 20,000 words that i wrote (not an exaggeration lol) for love yourself era content alone including summaries of every single individual note in the 2 books, which i did while rereading them, plus the actual literal original album notes translated to read first hand themselves, and literally even a summary of the smeraldo blog content! and the mobile game! and the webtoon! daniel and i discussed how to handle this a lot at the beginning with how they wanted to receive the content + the time constraints for me working on everything and opted for a mix of receiving some spoilers as they are shown first in videos and others to be saved for the very end which is why you’re seeing some things told and some things saved, and some places with more focus on demian since that is just as present in the wings era bu content as the actual bu content! reactors don’t often have demian context going in, so we thought it’d be fun to include that here! and dw they had received corrections on both major things pointed out in the comments a lot too via further summaries :) trust me no one wishes i could’ve gone back and changed small parts of the early stuff once i was writing LY era summaries more than me LOL. it was even already all specifically noted by me in the later summaries that are written "

I appreciate the hardwork the summary writer is putting into this but I am still lost as to what exactly is the point of spending a whole week on films and reels when you collect such less chunks of information and ccw are not even aware of the BU storyline. I wish you would focus more on BU rather than the references regarding the book. I would highly recommend watching xeceleste video before entering the LY era as the highlight reels have a huge time jump, which won't be easy to understand through the summary you are given which is pretty clear by the previous videos. Please it's a huge request to check the explanation video, she explained everything including the references from the demian book in a better and simple manner while focusing on BU only 🙏🏻

i just hope that you’ll watch the explanation video. a lot of us commented about the XCeleste one bc is very well explained. the 2019 one is shorter than the 2020 one. but both are good
I won't say anything about the summaries anymore, just hope you watch xCeleste explanation video at the end of all of it, because the summary especially for this Wings era is a mess and she focused a lot on the Demian story when it's not all the storyline is about, Demian was used as a reference for temptation and loss of innocence, but it's not like "oh he's Demian" "he's Sinclair" if you think like that you really won't understand anything!!
i agree!! the admin's explanation focused too much on the demian book which is not a big part of the BU and did not explain much about the actual universe during the wings era. they will just get confused when they start the love yourself era as it has a huge time leap in the story

I think the problem is either misinformation, little information to too much information shared in the summary. Along with focusing on the wrong things like demian too much. This would have been a better experience if they just watched all the BU video content then just reacted to Xceleste summary of the entire thing which is not only more cohesive but would also have big revelations and shocking moments for a good reaction video. Now it feels like they know too much info from the books but also don't know much about the actual BU story itself. Having said that I hope people don't blame the admin too much. This is how things turned out but I at least hope they just react to the xceleste video to recap everything in a better way.

Last time your summary writer gave you wrong description about jimin's character's story, he wasn't kidnapped. I would highly recommend watching xceleste's video after you complete your journey with all the films and highlight reels from the next era. Watching the films and connecting the dots is very fun but you don't know the base of the story, as to why all of this is happening, so hope you will definitely watch xceleste video in the end. The writer is comparing BU to the demian book a lot when it was just used as a reference for loss on innocence . BU has a different and its own storyline which you dont even know about yet... Hope it changes later
Right! Because as long as i remember he wasn't kidnapped, he was just returning back home alone on a rainy day when his parents didn't come to pick him up, and on the way he ran into an empty stotage place?
@@Rina.17.13 exactly. I feel like the writer is confusing a lot while writing stuff for them and comparing a LOT from the demian book which imo is not needed because they don't even know the story. They are just watching these films, assuming these things are happening to them but they are not aware of the reason which seems pointless. So watching the explanation video is the best thing they can do

+ in the explanation video, she shows all the sources of the information which is far better than just reading! She shows those specific moments from the mvs, manhwa, bu storyline game, and from the book! Which makes it so easy to understand!

BU Books are called “The Notes” bc they originally were little mini packets that we got with each album that provided additional context for the BU during that era

Guys the wings album has its own references inspired by book demain . But how the wings era is related to bu is entirely different concept which is not related to demain book. So i recommend if u want to understand the wings era alone watch xceleste wings era explanation. But if u want to understand the bu then u have to watch xceleste bu explanation.....

Totally different times, don't where she got this from, on the prologue he literally calls Namjoon and they go to him, the short film call is when he goes to jail and asks to call someone but Namjoon doesn't answer, because of things that i won't say now since you literally don't know ANYTHING about Namjoon's lore, but he regrets not picking up so the phone booth is always with "bad" stuff written on it, like the liar because it's his guilt that he wasn't there for Taehyung!!

thanks for legit clearing this because I feel like we are not even allowed to say anything about the characters individually as they don't even know what the BU story is about 😭😭 I feel like their summary writer should have told them about atleast the base of the storyline with the time travel and all because they are assuming that these things are randomly happening for no reason which is such a waste of time considering we have the highlight reels left and it has a huge time jump between that and wings era. They won't understand anything in those. I feel like they should watch the explanation video before the highlight reels..

@@carols.0504 exactly 😭 I feel like their admin is not at all aware abt the BU and she is picking these hard ways of describing the storyline through the internet because this is not how we all compared BU to. It's a disappointment spending a whole week just to get out small chunks of random information and not even know the main storyline... The album reviews were better than this

@@nihiramishra503yes. The information and details were all random but it's confusing, they dont know the reasonwhy things are happening. Inconsistent summaries as well. They wouldnt know how to tie everything with the highlight reels w/o knowing d full context.
The books she keeps referencing which I think you may have received one or two of them are "THE NOTES". The guys albums especially if they deal with the BU in some way have little booklets in them. These were "notes" told in the voices of the guys' characters. They weren't written in order so that made piecing the story together harder because we had so many blanks. But BH went back and collected all the information from the little books and made 3 regular books from all of that. So bits of backstory you don't have came from the Notes.

the lyrics of their solo songs do reflect the members and their actual thoughts, but i believe the BU was also created in such a way that it could use these songs as inspiration.
and i just wanted to mention that, yes, the book Demian has a lot to do with the BU in terms of temptation and loss of innocence, but i’d also step away from all that imagery as you continue learning about the storyline to see that there’s a lot more to it!

100%. This is a confirmed thing as well. Pretty sure how it went was, they already had the story for each member, they also had a name for each person's short film. The members were told to write songs based on the name aka the theme of each member for this era. For example, First love in the story is likely meant more to do with suga's mom being "the first love" because they say "a boys first love is his mother" but suga when he wrote the song is talking about his piano and music in general. Or hobi with his mom in the lore but hobi in the song is talking about his real mom, RM reflection is about him reflecting on his guilt for not being there for V but RM in the song is talking about him reflecting on his real self. ofc bighit also wrote the story in a clever way to connect it with the members in real life. Suga with his piano, Jk with his hyungs and relying on them a lot etc lots of little details like that which are connected to the members both in the story and real life.

I’ll just echo the same thoughts a lot of people are having here as well: the Demian book was more of an “inspired by” and not to be really taken for a one to one comparison. I’d focus more on what the BU story is trying to show and less on that. And here’s another vote for you guys to watch the XCeleste explanation video! Good luck!
I suggest you guys to watch Xceleste's explanation after you guys watched this whole hyyh era for better understanding.. Because it's hard to completely figure out the whole story without reading the books and webtoon and xceleste's summary is a must watch
The book that you are asking about: they published HYYH The Notes, a set of books that contained small but important pieces of information for more clarity. It would mention something about the characters doing something or what they are thinking, along with dates to make the timeline clear. You can also find small booklets called The Notes in the albums you have with you; HYYH to MOTS albums. They are all in Korean but it's still fascinating!!😊 Thank you for the reaction!!! ABOUT THE BOOK:
BTS started releasing a series of notes on twitter in 2017. Then some other booklets came with their 'Love Yourself' era albums. These notes basically look like diary entries of each member and they're not in a chronological order. All of these little stories were eventually collected and released in a separate books called '花樣年華 THE NOTES 1' (came out in 2019) and '花樣年華 THE NOTES 2' (came out in 2020).

I recommend you to watch "BU storyline explanation updated in 2020 - by Xceleste" Its worth to watch and you can relate all the clips that been seen in music video, wings short film, highlight reel and all connects to BU notes 1 & 2 , BTS gameplay trailer, webtoon,etc" Atlast you can totally understand the story what's actually going on these bts mv's....haha...😄😄

the summary you got last time doesn't really give great idea on BU story , there are references taken from the book but it is not the same story BU characters have completely different stories, like jimin wasn't kidnapped but he witnessed the crime, and summer caught it quickly how the call namjoon gets is from V. also if you keep looking at how camera captured jungkook and yoongi throughout BU mv's, you will understand the "Connection" they share. my heart goes out for V and Namjoon the most . if you could watch xceleste's explanation videos you can connect all dots. and fill up missing pieces of story . these summaries are focused on the book which is just a reference, it also doesn't mention color themes used, 1.46 thing is not just a coincidence.
I'm so proud of you guys for picking up on the fact that Jungkook's whistle is what pulled Yoongi out and saved him (although it could have been the reason he was hit by the car if things went differently). You're, perhaps, the first reactors I've ever seen that made the connection right away.
As musicians, I think you would probably agree with something I've always assumed. Yoongi breaks into the store to play the piano but only plays a couple of phrases then stops and hangs his head. I've always thought that he stops and looks sad because he went to all that trouble only to find a horribly out of tune piano that is almost painful to play or listen to. Don't know why but it's always been in my mind when watching his film. Nothing worse (musically) than an out of tune piano...
a lot of the comments here mean well, but I don't really think its a big deal that the admin focused on the Demian comparisons for the short films, its pretty obvious there's a lot of visual symbolism that connects to the book. so even if it doesn't necessarily tie into the story line, its still fascinating to know and learn about! And some of you are being a little harsh, the BU is still something a lot of people theorize about and information for it can be a lil all over the place sometimes, its okay! CCW is just beginning their journey and any 'wrong' info given I'm sure will get corrected down the line! the xceleste video is a great summary of the BU, and so even if their admin summaries aren''t perfect, which is to be expected, eventually it will fall into place!! Sometimes the youtube comment section can come off a little aggressive IMO especially towards their team of admins and writers, they're just people doing their best to aid their journey!! I think correcting things is fine as long as you're kind about it :)

Also, I think a lot of these commenters don't realize how many direct one on one parallels to Demian the Wings short films have. The BU took a backseat to Demian a bit during the Wings era.

Hey, guys, hope you can wade through all the complaining and enjoy yourselves. There are always going to be people who think you're being told too much and other people who think you're not being told enough.
Damien was a huge part of the Wings era, so I'm glad your summary writer included so many explanations regarding the references to it. I think a lot of people honestly don't realize just how much Damien influenced the short films.
And yes, you'd understand things a bit more if you read the Notes as well, but that is a kind of significant undertaking that A LOT of people don't do. It is FINE to just enjoy the parts of the BU that you get from the MVs and short films 💜

I totally agree. Most people watch explanation videos and don't actually know anything about the BU outside of that, and there is SO much more to it than that.

And when they do talk about the BU, they are either giving you the wrong information, or providing information that wasn't out yet at that time! i highly suggest your admin to do a bit more research and focus more on the BU itself, or you guys to watch XCeleste's video about wings era and the video explanation about the BU at the end. Some of the details are either too focused on the Damian story, spoilers, or a few wrong details. (jimin's from last week for example)

The fact that ARMY back in that era, read books, researched mythology and paintings and symbolism and watched these videos again and again, picking up similarities and differences and clues between them for us to even have any sort of explanation in the present. They had to go and read a comic series that Bang PD recommended and piece it together with the whole storyline ffs! These people CRAWLED so we could run today! A moment of applause please! 👏👏👏👏👏

This was literally my favorite album by BTS. Because this storyline was legit amazing. Keeps you on the end of your seat not even breathing.

i remember reading the whole "THE NOTES" BU book when I was in high school, and now I'm graduating from university😭 Reading that book felt like someone was splashing cold water in me because I kept realizing and having that "OOOHHHH" moment when I connect their videos to the parts of the book. That BU storyline was actually so depressing I had to take a moment in between bc I felt bad to the characters😢 if we think about it really, these stories might be happening or already happened to a lot of people in real life....its sad
I started listening to BTS since last year. It’s funny to me not knowing about the BU. But along with you guys, now I get to watch it for the first time, having the same reaction like y’all and decoding how everything’s connected or at least how the boys stories are connected. It’s kinda fun and exciting to know all this stuff. Thanks guys for reacting and I’m jumping into the rabbit hole of BU as y’all did:)🤩
even if they don't i really recommend going through other material too, not just the videos, and looking up explanations later after you have made your own conclusions, otherwise you will be missing out on a lot of the story and fun

Most of this is for the BU but some is based on real life too more noticeable suga’s song and some other members songs no one knows but themselves what exactly the songs is about but jhope’s song for the BU wings era is dedicated to his mother suga on his first love with piano or music, RM’s song reflection on himself, Jin’s, V, Jimin songs that could be about themselves but probably is Jin’s lyrics Maybe I can never fly, maybe I, I can't touch the sky, Still, I want to stretch my hand out. I want to run, just a bit more”
and jungkook’s song “begin” where he wrote about his love for his members that basically his members raised him up most of their solo songs for the wings era is about themselves and I don’t think exactly tied to the BU but the videos are somewhat tied to the BU but the song is based on themselves in real life but you can say it can work for the BU too

you guys picked up on a lot im proud, i was so lost when i was going into the BU during my baby army days i literally had no idea what was going on. like summer in part one, i had mistaken the character's storylines for the members real lives, i was genuinely so concerned and confused. the BU Notes books are separate books which contain puzzle piece like diary entries from the characters and general information on the overarching story. they are quite long and a bit confusing so i found XCeleste's explanation super helpful in showing where everything fits within the story. she pulls out the main things from all the sources and explains things very well. i think watching her BTS Storyline 2020 Explained video at the end of your personal BU journey will be great as a refresher and put more things in the storyline in context as she delves in to the game, the webtoon, mvs, notes... basically the whole shebang and puts in some popular fan theories as well. excited for love yourself era, you guys are doing really well piecing this together!
demian is really not that connected to bu at all, it was just an additional thing since wings era was connected to demian
There's still a lot of basic info that you guys don't have that won't be shown in any mvs so I hope you guys will watch xceleste's explanation video after your done with all the related videos. And read the notes or have someone give u a summary cuz those are sooooo important.

A drama will be released based on the BU and apparently it will be aired from April 2024. The actors’ names in the series will be from the BTS WEBTOON because they didn’t want to use BTS’ real names. I feel like you guys would enjoy the series and will have a better understanding of BU

I wrote this last time too as well as other viewers. Jimin was not kidnapped. I feel that your admin who is writing the summaries is focussing way too much on Demian and then giving some misinformation that could mislead you. Yes, they refer to lines from the book, but if you can’t see the web toons and try not to read so much that everything will revolve around the book, you’ll be very surprised that the BU storyline is o deep and different. You have paired the members correctly, and now some overlap, but I really hope you do the Xceleste explanation though I understand you are wanting to go in an order. Amino ARMYs were popping off with the crazy theories. Some were close, some were horrifyingly off.
Also, we had to wait every comeback to see the next installment to the BU, which made it even more intense.

"the books" are the "Notes" that come with albuns (2, I dont remember with ones). I read it on internet, you can find pdf but can also find webpages that explain (it's really crazyyyyy).

In the end of everything you've planned to watch during this BTS WINGS ERA journey of yours, hope you DEFINITELY consider watching "BTS WINGS ERA EXPLAINED" By XCELESTE bcs it'll surely answer many of your questions as well as you'll know about more complexed connections that each of the member have with each other.. also moving forward, I (all the armys i guess) hope that you'll definitely watch "BTS STORYLINE SUMMARY (2020 version which is updated)" by XCELESTE bcs you just gotta know about all that explanation summary if you're really diving into this BU.
That takes away the entire point of the BU. Her explanation videos has information that came out YEARS after the Love Yourself series. It's more fun to learn and theorize, than just have it all told to you. Also her explanations do not tell the story that well in my opinion, she focuses mostly on events (which is important!) but barely on the actual relationships and themes of the story. The video is great for people who don't want a deep-dive, but CCW does.

Will they read the Webtoon "Save Me" later? I mean it is not necessary to react, it is for your free time since it is available for free for all devices I feel like you will love it there they will tie all the fragments together as a complete story
I think they just need to do the Xceleste summary video instead. Its fine if they don't read it, honestly I probably wont even watch them just reading the webtoon. Watching the summary will give them enough of the story and its a better experience for everyone since its all put together well in a cohesive way.
The BU has already been made into a k-drama. I'm not sure when it officially starts, but you can watch trailers for the show already. It looks super interesting.
