could you kindly explain to me what that expression means. if your "dropping a gear" does that mean you are for example going from 5th to 6th? or does it mean going from 6th to 5th? I know its self explanatory but I thought you go faster when you go up a gear?? so why is the expression "drop a gear" as in going down....if that makes sense...

He is dropping to a lower gear to get higher in the rpm range

@@KleanShots oh! So are you saying like once you take it to redline in 6th gear you drop to 5th so on and so 4th😉 in order to go faster? Ok I think it makes sense to me now lol thanks for responding

@@NAJErEa91 No lol you don't drop it after redline, you drop if you're currently low RPM to hit the powerband harder to take off with high acceleration. So, if for instance you are going 55 in 6th gear, you may be Rev'd to around 5-6k, if you drop two-three gears, your rpm will shoot up to 9-10k depending on how much you drop. You drop gears to stay consistently high RPM to maximize the horsepower and torque response from your bike.... Just don't forget that it gets hotter, you can't hold it in the Redline for long.

@@kekness4939 ohhhhhhh!!!!! 😀😄 I had to read what u said a few times to grasp it! I think I understand now! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain that to me in detail!

@@kekness4939 .🤔..and you're not blipping the throttle on this sort of downshift because you want the RPMs to remain high???????? As in you are not aiming to rev match???? ? I hope I'm correct in that assumption...🙏
