Marz here is some info regarding references to the old games
- Helios was a victim of Kratos quest for revenge. Kratos ripped off his head and used it as a lantern
- The blade of Olympus is meant to be the most powerful weapon from the greek games, and it was also the weapon that gave Kratos that massive scar on his stomach (Zeus stabbed him with it).
- The fire cage room is an iconic moment from GOW1 where Kratos pushed some poor solider in a cage to be burned alive (all while the solider cried for mercy). Kratos really was a Monster

A reasonable thing by the way, but you don't like them for a legitimate and understandable reason. You don't like them because Kratos isn't screaming ARES, ZEUS, DIE! every 3 seconds for the 8th game in a row. Just admit you hate character development and you like edgy for the sake of edgy and move on.
Glad to see you play this. It is such a great free DLC and a love letter to fans of the old games, with so many references to the Greek era games.
The mimir dilemma is a real one. You don’t want to be a burden on someone you think deserves the best, you don’t want to hinder their future. On the other hand, they have chosen to be in the relationship, and any burden the other may think, the other may not see it as a burden. They see something special in that person, that sometimes they don’t see themselves because they are assuming what could be a bleak future for their partner. As a whole, they help each other, as long as they are willing to accept their special qualities. A bit of a messy paragraph haha, but hopefully it is understandable.
I still remember your reaction in the last episode of GOW Ragnarok. It was so emotional but the story felt undone. It would be priceless to see your reactions to this DLC. ❤

You can swap O and X buttons in the settings. Although it might get more confusing if you've gotten used to the other options.
I understand what you mean and I get tears as well every time when watching you play even though I played it myself (that time as well). Hearing the reassuring words from Mimir while having the same thoughts as Kratos can hit home when you have no one else to hear them from.
I'm always enjoying your playthroughs whether youtube or live on twitch. For this, I'm actually glad you chose youtube, because this way you can play however you want without people complaining all the time

If you haven't played the past God of War games, this story isn't going to resonate with you nearly as much. This video makes me feel sorry for all of the newcomers to the series who haven't experienced the rest of it. It's also the reason I don't like when people start with the newest entry of a franchise instead of at the beginning.

Small shield is incredibly satisfying to parry chain combos from enemies. People may love circle shield because they are combo breakers. I personally just wanna hear my shield goes bong bong bong for the combat

Whenever you see the blue rings on an enemy, you can interrupt their charging attack with a shield interrupt. Like tapping the shield button close to the enemy. But suffice it to say, roguelite gameplay can be very satisfying for those who enjoy getting better and better every time they "die". I'm glad you are getting to experience this unique take of trial-and-error. Keep it up!

Happy to see you diving in, Marz! All I will say without spoiling the later parts of the DLC is that this story makes it more clear than ever how much Odin made Tyr look like a joke. To Odin, pacifism equals cowardice. That (combined with his inability to mimic Tyr's fighting style) made him portray Tyr as a broken down wishy-washy moron.
With that in mind, it's a bit jarring to meet the real Tyr and see the difference. And I am 1 million percent here for it.
Stun grabbed an enemy with R3 - minute and a half later: "I didn't even know that was a thing" 😂

Hey Marz! Haven't been able to catch your last few streams. I've always loved how invested you get in a good story. Happy Holidays! (speaking of roguelikes, I highly recommend you check out Hades. Sequel is coming out next year, but the game is way better than it looks.)
Hopefully Sony should release remastered 4k 60fps versions of original God of War Trilogy and the three side games. Then you can play them and appreciate Kratos character growth and the cool Greek lore.

The "what the actual f*ck" look that Freya gives Kratos when he says "i forced it open" had me bust out laughing hard. Btw the big blue gold sword Kratos gets is called the blade of Olympus it belonged to his father Zeus it was the most powerful weapon in the entire series and Kratos killed a lot of gods and titans with it.

I had the exact same problem with dodging, and I eventually gave up and switched the X and O buttons, so now O is dodging for me.
