    Man you're on the ball. I would have been on the pops and forgot that extension cord was there, ran it over with the blower and proceeded to swear a whole bunch. Haha good job.

      Ya it kinda sucks , I tent to leave the cord outside and it gets covered with snow LOL!
      Next year i hope to not have the cord anymore and had a real service installed LOL!

    This is when battery tenders would be your best friend lol I keep my kubota g1800 plugged in all the time all winter....it fired right up the coldest this winter so far which was 2 degree out...like a champ

    At temperatures of -30, thats when gas small engines act like diesel engines, and if you got 10W-30 oil in them instead of 5W-30, its gonna be even worse. In temps like this, weather it be gas or diesel, I suggest putting on a block heater. If its aluminum block, just bungie it against the block. Another thing that helps, is to heat up the air going into the intake, a heat gun works well for that. Also, it helps to have a fully charged battery. Your working with a 10-year old battery that has been sitting in the cold, she just don't have the juice. And finally, you were flooding her out as well. Glad that she finally started, once she dried out a little bit. Replace that battery Curtis. Good video!

      I Agree She was Flooding , I believe the Governor linkage was frozen also.
      Next time i will just move the throttle up and down a dozen times first to hope to unstick her.
      I have some magnetic block heaters from my old "mini truck" That i will try to find a place for it on the bolens.

    Brr a cold one there for sure! The Bolens didn't like the cold but started. A 20 or 30 amp service would be decent in the shop for a compressor and welders.

    • @starpuss
      @starpuss  Před rokem +1

      I "may" Just install a 100amp panel , I have a new in box 100 amp panel so thinking it will be Less work to just install that seeing it will be less of a distance to Dig up.
      Sure it will cost a little more , but still thinking it will be best.

    I’d build what I call a start all an smallengine driven Gm 10si alternator rigged to boost anything 12volt and just give it all the choke all the throttle and crank till it fires or hydro locks itself

    Would Proxy take off if you were to let her off the leash??
    We have the extreme cold here in Ontario, but not that much snow in my area.

      She's an Alaskan Malamute, so yes. If you know anything about sled dogs, them are working dogs. They are bread to work, bread to run. They want it so bad, they get into a mode much like Moose do when they are in the rut. They will totally toss you off a sled, and keep on going without checking, because all they want to do is go go go, run run run. So yes, Proxy needs to be on a leash.

    Those new battery Chargers are junk. They time out after a certain amount or time. Bought a nice old one.

      What Curtis needs, is a lithium powered jump booster pack. They are very affordable now days. I have the Gooloo GT3000, sucker can boost a 7L diesel engine easily, so its nothing to start a V-twin or single cylinder small engine. And yes modern fast chargers suck, which is why I use a Battery Tender float charger. I also got a Noco Genius 4-bank float charger too, they are decent!

    • @starpuss
      @starpuss  Před rokem

      I am Kinda thinking the boost setting is no longer working right on this charger , As it us to work VERY nice , But now it's more of a charger only i think..

      I think Drew likes the chooching, because he always competes with it when he brings out his vape choocher.
