I have this used rifle on test from Leicestershire Airguns. Many thanks to Phil and Tracey. I couldn't do this without them!
I forgot to speed the shooting bit up so this is a bit of a long one. Sorry.
Hope you enjoy the video. Cheers!
Another super review. I do like the easy and informal approach to your reviews, it’s just like popping over to a mate and getting the low down on a new air rifle.
Great stuff 👍
Cheers Nick. I am glad that’s how it comes across,. Thanks for the positive comments. Much appreciated. 👍
Like the review and the rifle , I'm not entirely sure about a bulpup but that is growing on me for my pigeon perm
Damn good review that was , well narrated and the sound and picture quality was bob on ... nice rifle anawl , didn't think they did em in that colour scheme and carbon bottle .. worthy of consideration for another gun ..
Cheers Mark. For the price point definitely worth going on your Christmas list!
Nice channel and nice review... Please do more video about this little beauty. Because i cannot find any review about this reximex compact.
Thank you! 🙏 I had to give this one back. However I am thinking about getting one in .22!
@@gardenguns thanks for reply... This gun looks amazing thank you so much
Just came across your channel and have subscribed. I have been looking through your recent videos and found you have reviewed the BSA MMC ultra 10 shot . I own one in original set up no regulator . Use it mostly on a couple of barn permissions and my own garden ratting . After a full charge I find I have to waste the first 3 pellets they tend to go left . After that at 30 yards it is virtually pellet on pellet . I only get 40 shots per fill but that is not a problem . My set up is bsa silencer. 6x24x50 vector Hugo and oneleaf nv100 commander . JSB Hades 15.89 grn pellets. Cracking little rifle .
The rifle in that video was a second hand one on test from Leicestershire Airguns. My own Ultra is a 2005 MMC in .22. It was originally blue printed by John Bowkett. I had a regulator fitted and a tune done at Ratworks in 2019. Worth the money getting the work done. It has made a cracking rifle a show stopper!
That's odd,I'm subscribed and have notifications turned on,but never received one, luckily just noticed you uploaded.
Glad you found it! Apparently it happens. Seems to be worse on shooting related channels. Try turning the notifications on and off again? Thanks for watching. Keep an eye open. FX Cyclone next!!
Nice demo... and good to see you about again :)
Thanks Andrew. Glad to be back!
I bought this rifle and I must say it was very accurate and I agree with this reviewer about the trigger, however after my first outing with it it started to leak so I returned it to Phil and Tracy at Leicestershire Airguns for repair which they happily did but after using it I kept checking the pressure gauge more than I shot it so I asked if I could get a refund which Phil and Tracy happily did and I ended up walking away with a really good deal on another rifle.
I would say the trigger is slightly spongy but still predictable.
The worst thing is the magazines and the utterly useless single shot adapter which puts the pellet into the slot every which way except for the way you want it to go so my advice is to buy better mags/single shot adapters.
It’s a shame the loading kit lets the whole rifle down.
I can’t fault the guys at Leicestershire Airguns(my favourite shop)!
Thank you for the update Andy. Sorry to hear you had issues. Glad to hear Leicestershire Airguns sorted you out!
Good video. We airgunners could talk about airguns for hours 👍
Thanks mate. I am trying to make the videos a bit shorter, failing miserably though! 😁
hi nice video keep up the good work nice to see you back
Cheers Eddie. Next video up next Thursday (ish)
As far as accuracy goes ,is the rifle capable of tight groupings ( size of a 5p coin) out at 40 yds , for a .177 ?
I was impressed with Ixia. I didn’t do much pellet testing as it was shooting well with the pellets I put through it. I am by no means a top shot, so I would think a better shooter than me would be able to manage that with the barrels preferred pellet.
Thanks for the review. I got mine a few weeks ago so it's good to see positive opinions from others. Although it looks like that's got the carbon bottle? Mines a tad heavier. Cheers.
Yes it does. Which size rifle do you have?
@@gardenguns Mines a sub 12 ft .177 with a Hawke Eclipse 4-16x50 AO IR Mil Dot and steel 425cc bottle
This was a 300cc bottle if I remember right. Max fill was 375 bar for the bottle but 250 bar for the rifle. Gave over 70 shots from a 220bar fill to 130 bar before refill. All high 11 ft/lb
@@gardenguns I thought i was getting more shots per fill than that to be honest. I'll pay more attention next time. Getting a chrono next, funds willing
You probably are! I always try to go on the low side with the rifle I have. Definitely get that chrono. It allows you to really work out how to make the most out of your kit.
Nice review,I’ve been waiting for an Ixia compact sub 12ftlb review for ages……any idea on shot count on the compact vs the full size Ixia ? Must get myself back over to Leicestershireairguns it’s been a while 👍
Sorry, had a quick look on their website. Seems to be all related to the throne. My view point is it depends on you your use for shot count. If you are shooting HFT you need a greater shot count than you need for hunting (unless you are in an obscenely target rich environment!) The rifle I was lucky enough to use was a carbon bottle version. The shot count was impressive for the physical size of that tiny carbon bottle!
100 in .177
Great review- sub 12 how would you rate against an Impact ?? I can buy a mint s/h Impact two for the same price new as these?
If you can get a mint impact 2 for the same price as on of these new, I would go for the impact. I haven’t shot the impact however if the rifle is mint, holds air and groups Airgun economics alone makes the second hand impact a better purchase.
@@gardenguns I bought it, actually through a dealer with a warranty and mint original hard case with instructions. It had been a member of staffs gun. Thanks
SWEET! You are a lucky man!
Hi,not a criticism but a correction on magazine filling, you don't just put in what you need you have to fill the mag complete, the second pellet loaded is the last to be shot,if you say only put three in,after you shoot the first pellet the mag will spin past all the empty spaces and slam against the post, results would be a damaged skirt or broken mag, hope this is useful and makes sense,
Hi rabbit. Once you have loaded the first pellet and the mechanism is locked, you can rotate the cover all the way round and start filling back to front. This stops the mechanism from doing that.
@@gardenguns yes agreed if you know that hack but the instructions that come with those mags and all the vids on loading tell you you fill in sequence, I was just concerned that newbies would end up with a wayward flyer or a busted mag,👍
Great point. Next time I get one of these mags I’ll highlight that
@@gardenguns as I said it wasn't criticism,keep the vids coming,👍
@@ratrabbitandpestsniper1826 better off with a 3d printed mag from JCE. The spring is a lot softer in them.
That is an ixia compact
Good
Under a 1000
Not a bad gun
Tell something about barrel?
420mm, shrouded and interchangeable. Hope that helps
Not my cuppa but I’m sure it’s a brilliant rifle but not for me 👍🏻
