    I received my 7559 in the mail today and this is the second CZcams video that I have visited thus far. I do not have as much keyboard flex as you have experienced, but the screen flex is still noticeable. I also want to state that I have the i7 with the 1 terabyte drive as well. It look good in my opinion and is thinner than I expected. Time will tell, so onto updating the drivers.

      It was fine, until the driver for the wireless card went out. It was a pain plugging it in and downloading the drivers, but after restarting its fixed. So make sure to do that the first thing.

    Got the i5 model of the i7559. I absolutely love it! Gaming performance is rock solid, screen is great, and keyboard and trackpad don't bother me, trackpad mostly because I'm using a wireless mouse. Mine came with a 250gb m.2 SSD instead of the 1tb HDD. I also installed an additional 250gb Sandisk SSD and 8gb more ram, bringing the total storage to 500gb and the ram to 16gb. Installation was easy due to the single screw lid on the bottom. This laptop is awesome for the price, and even rivals my friend's custom gaming desktop.

      Sounds awesome! Would u recommend getting this rather then an Alienware 13 r2?

    • @njsullyalex2744
      @njsullyalex2744 Před 8 lety

      +TheVaultDweller f In certain conditions, I would definitely recommend this. If you want a gaming laptop but don't want to pay the premium of the Alienware, then definitely get it right now. If you want to pay a little more for the Alienware, you will get better performance and quality, but it's not much more powerful, and the Dell can handle 1080p gaming on high settings at 30-60 fps for most games.

    • @thevaultdwellerf6691
      @thevaultdwellerf6691 Před 8 lety

      +NJ Sullyalex Yeh for the price of £800 this computer seems very capable. Getting an Alienware I think would only have the advantage of an ssd and a cooler looking design but for gaming they both have a 960m and the dell has 2 gbs more of ddr5 ram so I think it's worth buying this laptop, thanks for the input.

    • @njsullyalex2744
      @njsullyalex2744 Před 8 lety

      +TheVaultDweller f No problem! The Dell Inspiron actually has the option of coming with an M.2 256gb SSD if you want more speed!

    • @Moocavo3
      @Moocavo3 Před 8 lety

      hey dude,
      I got this laptop brand new a week ago from the dell website
      w the i5 configuration and I’m afraid I might’ve gotten a lemon. It’s hard to
      pin point what’s wrong with it as it doesn’t have a single major problem but
      there are slight lags and problems that’s driving me crazy. For example simple
      tasks like opening a program or a file that should be a breeze takes few
      seconds too long and browsing using firefox causes it to stutter and lag often
      and random black blocks appear over words. Also the touchpad acts up often. I
      thought it might be driver/update problems so I updated all the drivers/
      updates and even defragged the hdd to no improvement. These little inefficiencies is so obvious
      because I've been using a desktop with far inferior specs(Celeron) before this laptop and I expected this laptop
      to be much faster but this laptop is actually slower! Did you notice any of these problems? Thanks

    It is a brilliant laptop. Also, at this point, they seem to fixed the wifi problem b/c its good for me and hasn't dropped once. On the contrary, I don't find the 1TB drive too slow, it's bearable, even if it isn't as fast as an SSD.
    But seriously that 960M. I've run Total War: Shogun 2, (which is ridiculously demanding) at ultra settings and experienced barely any lag. World of Warships I've had to run at medium to get a good frame rate with my internet connection but it's beautiful even then.

    • @feels_bad-man
      @feels_bad-man Před 8 lety

    • @virusguy5611
      @virusguy5611 Před 8 lety

I know many of these budget laptop tend to use onboard nvedia chips which share RAM with the OS, bottlenecking video rendering capability in no time. Will be great if it uses decdicated gDDR5 vRAM...any idea?

So it would be very
    appreciated if anyone especially owners of this laptop can offer any insight
    into why mine is acting up. Thanks.

    thank you so much for this review!!
    I just have one concern, is the main build, I've heard from many people that while closing the laptop, it sometimes pops out in one corner and breaks. I've had this problem with almost all my hp laptops in the past. So I wanted to know what do you think, Is the build of the laptop very flimsy , unstable or weak?

      dell is a very good laptop with great specs for the price. however the build quality is much better with the lenovo y700 so if you can afford it then get the y700 for the extra little features. btw the display is better on the lenovo y700

      +flyguyee If it's an M.2 SSD, go for it. You can get 2 TB of secondary storage stuffed into the then-leftover hard drive space if you wanted, and can find large external storage drives for cheap as well if you REALLY need some extra storage for some reason.

    I have a real problem with this laptop
    Now the laptop itself seems fantastic and I can't wait to get mine, unfortunately though, in the US it's $800 for the base model, but for some reason, Dell decided it was therefore reasonable to make it 800 GBP, now if anyone knows how currencies work, you'll know that this is really shitty. I guess to justify this they put in an i7 as standard instead but that still puts it at least $50 overvalued in the UK.
    Great review though Andrew :D

    • @Haririsoon
      @Haririsoon Před 7 lety

      Josh Papworth My point is it shouldn't be like that in any place, let alone just Australia or the UK and my main gripe is with the fact you can't buy the i5 version in the UK.

    • @joshpapworth1999
      @joshpapworth1999 Před 7 lety

      Baeger Most companies are greedy for profit wherever you live which makes me question as to why prices differ so variently in different countries when it is the exact same product.

    • @cr1pps

  • @ZhaoPao
    @ZhaoPao Před 8 lety

    Hey, so would u recommend the lenovo y700 or this laptop?
    Because ive heard the lenovo is 5-6% better for $400 more, but besides a good build wuality and good sound, its not that much better.
    However the dell has the 960m for $760 which runs games about the same. It seems like the dell is a better deal for gaming and college work but the cheap quality of the build plus the DDR3 ram are my biggest worries.
    What are your thoughts?

  • @nicolasduque7213

    • @christimnorton7730
      @christimnorton7730 Před 8 lety

      depends on your use. I would go with the i7 version of this laptop because the price to performance gain is pretty good, and it is cheaper than the y7000

    • @Legnalious
      @Legnalious Před 8 lety

      +Nicolas Duque for the lenovo y700 the model that has the 960m 4gb GPU cost $1,150 with their "deals." This dell already comes with that for only $800 (amazon version) and comes with 256SSD. The lenovo only with 128 SSD and 1Tb HDD. you can just add the 1Tb HDD on the dell for less than a hundred bucks. Of course SSD is the better option but just for matching the lenovo. the lenovo has 16gb ram ddr4 while this has 8gb ddr3. you can always just add another stick of ram but generally speaking 8gb should be more than enough. For processor, it depends like Chris said. But for gaming the GPU is more important so the i5 model is good and i find no need for the i7 (personally). Now that i notice though, your comment is two months old so i'm sure you made your choice. How'd it go?

    • @TheGetREKTson

    • @Legnalious
      @Legnalious Před 8 lety

      E T H N A R C well IF price is the same. dell i5 vs lenovo i7, I would say go for the lenovo just for that i7. If you're comparing dell i7 vs lenovo i7, I wouldn't be too sure. Maybe still the lenovo because the dell i7 doesn't have a ssd in it (you might want to check).

    • @TheGetREKTson

  • @ludwigharisuo6261
    @ludwigharisuo6261 Před 7 lety

    Whem I saw the clock speed of the 960m it's just above my 950m with 50mhz. Even though the 960m has better hardware I can unlock the max clockspeed so my 950m can pretty much clock up as much as it wants. Though I won't do that til it's necessary. Right now, I overclock depending on the fps and the power I want and need. Basically if I don't need to overclock I don't overclock, and if I need to, I overclock.
    Hopefully my gpu won't get fried when the day comes I unlock the max clockspeed. If that day even comes.
