Fantastic!! This is what farming should be. Right there observing close to the field

Just like the way we did it in the late 60's when I was a kid! We pulled our 30 with Dad's 3020 gas narrow front... later it got traded for a 40 self-propelled, we thought we really had the world by the sack then!

I remember as a little kid my grandfather used one of these. He pulled it with a JD 60. 50 years later, I still pull it with his 60. If it works, no sense of changing anything up.

We had a small dairy farm when I was young and we did all of our combining with a 30 and an International 674 gas tractor. Brings back memories! My dad insisted we run it in first gear so we wouldn’t hurt the 30. That was slow as you can imagine!

I worked for my neighbor as a teenager in mid to late 1950s. He owned a JD model 30 that was in pristine condition, as was all of his equipment.

This one seems to be in great shape. Really quiet when running. Does a great job

My family owned a Livestock Company selling horse drawn stuff and it turned into a John Deere dealership later on... We had this sort of thing on the farm as the generations went by and I love watching the old stuff work...

Oh, what pleasant childhood memories this video stirred up! A John Deere 3010 tricycle type pulling a John Deere 30 combine. Our 3010 was a diesel. Dad had someone come up with a makeshift dual to add to the tire on the grain talk side to help it stay up a little better in soft ground. We also had a Deere 68 auger wagon. We made an extension for ours out of 2x12's for a little more capacity. Thanks for bringing back the fond memories of my youth!

Me and my father just restored a John Deere 3020. We sent it back to my uncles farm where he uses it regularly. It’s great to see videos of this generation of tractors working. There’s a reason they earned their name as the best tractor around.

We had two model 30s. One with the reel and one with the pickup attachment.

Nice show with it's New Generation of Power themed equipment.
It is too bad that the tin work on the combine is all beat to hell.

You need treaded tires on the combine for traction .

That is an interesting differential arrangement for driving the reel. True it was used to disengage the reel during transport seeing it was ground driven? Didn't appear for the purpose of changing the speed of the reel.

What is the width of the axle from tire to tire?

I think it would be hard to get used operating and watching from the left side as well as getting it down the road.

They'd have to retrofit it to comply with their current rules, but I think it is certainly compact and light enough.

That's pretty risky having that kid on the tractor with that combine working right behind the tractor. 👎You really think that was wise?
