- Quincy Wilson talked with the media after finishing sixth in the 400m on Monday in a time of 44.94 seconds. Wilson described the environment, his race and how much he appreciated the fans at Hayward Field. He believes he would be a great candidate to help Team U.S. in the relay pool.

Quincy Wilson finished his sophomore year in high school, which is a year most runners dream about breaking 50 seconds in the 400 meters. He broke 45 seconds three days straight. Quincy Wilson should be an alternate on the Men's 4x400m relay team and definitely on the Mixed 4x400m relay worthy of being one of the two men to run the final for Paris Olympic Gold. Sydney McLaughlin made her first Olympic team at 16 and it laid the foundation for future success as it will for Quincy Wilson running at the Paris Olympics on at least one of the 4x400m relay squads.

I LOVE the fact that he and his family pray together, that he repeats Bible verses to himself for encouragement and that he says “Yes Sir” and “Yes Ma’am” like it’s normal for him!! I met a guy sometime ago who won the Louisiana High School Championship in the 400 meters. He said he ran a 47.6 in his senior year and took 1st place. He was way past his Hjgh School years, though. This guy broke 45 seconds at age 16. Unbelievable. News media people give this guy a break. Are you guys writing a book on this guy?
