- This compact music system came in with the fault of not playing all CDs.
Initial testing confirmed the fault. Dismantling and cleaning the optical assembly resulted in a complete fix. - Jak na to + styl

The Bose Wave Radios with CD players from earlier generations suffer from a well-documented issue with leaking caps, particularly the set within the shielded box towards the middle of the device (power supply to the optical block?). Symptoms would be slightly different from what you've seen (constant skipping), though. Radios from earlier generations (15-20 years old now) need a full recap. Check CZcams for one or two very helpful videos on this issue. I've done it myself and can confirm that this solves the issue.
@bijankafi Thanks for that. Was aware of the known issues but as this unit had been returned to Bose on previous occasions, I assumed those had been replaced by them.
My CD was playing. It stopped. A message appeared on screen saying CD inoperable. I took CD out, cleaned it, retried . Didn’t work, tried another several CD’s , again does not work. I have a Wave Sound Touch Model # 412534 with a Sound Touch pedestal
Sounds like a problem with the optical block, might just need the lens cleaning, difficult to do so recommend taking it to a local repairer.
