I think his overall musicality allowed him to age better than acts from his Era who invested too much in dance and special effects. His last tour was just him and a Piano, not one of his contemporaries could do that.
Prince was the greatest all-round musician of all time. He could play more than a dozen instruments, he was a brilliant singer, songwriter and arranger. And he acted as a musical director and conductor of his band on stage.
Prince is the greatest musician ever. As he said "I am music". I've saw him 7 times in concert & each time I was just in awe on how he plays & controls the band at the same time. Prince controls the audience as well that you feel so happy by the end of the concert & feel like every artist should give back as much as Prince did. Once the Prince estate releases the Piano & Microphone concerts which were the last ones that I saw then you will also see him at a complete other level to the jazz, pop, rock, funk infused concerts that we know him he can do with ease. Miss him more than any other artist. More Prince is always a good thing 🎶🎼🎵🎹
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU GARY!!!. Nick this is quintessential Prince Rogers Nelson. He was like a coach at band b practice, making sure every musician was on the top of their ish. God forbid you hit the wrong note live, Prince had the band watch the show from the night before and if you missed a note during practice that day Prince would stand right in front of them when they got to the part where they messed up. James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone were HUGE influences on Prince. There are so many Prince live things on youtube. They all good but Prince had a lot of NEXT LEVEL performances and THIS IS ONE OF THEM. I have not seen this one. THANK YOU GARY. "My name is Prince, and I am funky." Damn right! @thatsingerreactions this is one of your most entertaining reactions you have ever done. I can't wait to clip this.
I love his laugh at minute 10:40. Everything he said, every sound he made sounded like music. He really was music. I would like to talk a little bit about the meaning of the lyrics, especially the meaning of the name of the song. In the song Prince speaks of a Theocratic Order, an order that comes from God. And contrary to what many may think about 3 people in a relationship, as your sister in faith, I know what Brother Nelson is talking about, he saying he wants Jehovah's presence in his romantic relationship. A relationship that honors God. A triple cord, which makes the relationship more resistant to difficulties and more hard to break. A shoutout to Renato Neto, Prince's keyboard player, an amazing musicist of my land, Brasil!!
I loved your reaction ! Thx for the video ! Prince’s concerts were the best ever - no one else gives you such amazing and real MUSIC - never ‘dumbed down’ - I sure miss him !!!
Just saw the notification for this reaction video, and immediately said, “Yaaaaas!” Can’t wait to watch. 💜 Post Reaction: That girl gettin it in behind P is Miss Jo from the Chicago crew! It’s so fun watching these performances and recognizing like 60% of the people in the audience. 😂 Prince’s NPG Music Club was an online fan club in the early 2000s where members got exclusive releases, there were chat rooms that Prince would pop into from time to time, and they got preferred seating at concerts and access to soundchecks. So celebrities would pay hundreds for “front row” seats, and there would be a whole section of fans in front of them who got discounted tickets. Lol. Prince fed off people’s energy, so he always wanted the folks in the front to be the real crew that knew how to party. 😂 I miss him dearly. Ain’t no other artist in the world that loves their fan community like Prince did - and knew all the regulars by name!
Go Nick Go!!!!!!!!! Maceo Parker on sax played for James Brown. You’ve seen him in the “ Groove Is In the Heart” video! I especially love his “ Musicology” video. So funky and rootsy.
He got the slap & u got the bop & its funky in here maaan & the horns & all the band & it don't stop & it shouldn't up on the 1 1 2 3 got ants in my pants slamming RHCP rollercoaster housequake so much flavour all 2 the end nice my brother
I am so glad you are enjoying Prince! He was such a phenomenal musician and performer. This is a great jam song. Love it! Keep the purple party going…. Check out “The Question of U Live Tokyo” if you haven’t already.
You forgot to mention....he's a ladys man AND he comes in heels, with eye liner and ladys perfume. He kills it in every aspect you can think of. "Those guys doesn't come often arround "( Sir E.John). Have a nice purple day...Peace and b wild!!! O(+>
The concert was during Prince's Jazz phaze. The playlist was mor jazzy than funky, During this time he release 2 Jazz instrumental albums. The saxophone play Maceo Parker was in James Brown's band.
Too F.U.N.K.Y... If you're not moving to this groove somebody need to check your pulse cause you might be un-alive. This is like being at the concert, about to blow out a hip. I had so much fun watching you.
friends is the ultimate panty dropper everybody loves him he's so sensual talented and just amazing and amazing artist 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜rest in peace Prince I'm going to come get you 🌈💜
Agreed he was talented, look how he worked the crowd. That’s special but a ladies man…? I remember when he was an arrogant little toad wanting to be called The Artist. He was then called “The Artist formerly known as Prince”. I don’t think he had that in mind.
There's a joke in there right? You're confusing arrogance with confidence. Him wanting to be called the artist is a lie and so is the artist formally known as Prince which is the name media came up with. He changed his name to an unprouncable symbol legally in spite of Warner Bros. Records. He was a ladies man for sure, it showed through his music and the many relationships he had in his career. Its all good
@@dragonballz4998 I’m a biological woman, my taste in men, my taste in music. Take a look at his wiki page…read his profile. BTW I looked at wiki only after I saw your reply. He was 5ft 3, not muscular and seriously, calling himself The Artist and watching for MYSELF at the time, him throwing a hissy fit because a poor reporter had the audacity to call him Prince. That is not confidence thats spoiled brat Karen arrogance? Let us agree to disagree. 🥰♥️

Such a tight band and Prince and John Blackwell are so missed 🙏🙏
He directed his band with such precision like a finely tuned stradivarius. He demanded the best and nothing less would do 💜💜💜💜💜💜

I was blessed to see him dressed like Duke Ellington with his big jazz band around 2007 in DC.
