When you get tired of the ocean and the summer sun on a hot day in Virginia Beach, you may look for other things to do. Look no further than Atlantic Avenue, the road running parallel to the boardwalk at the oceanfront. It is the central location for oceanfront hotels, souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. There is a lot to do when you want a few hours break from the waves and the sand.
In this video, we tell you about some of our favorite things to do when we visit Virginia Beach, Virginia and introduce you to a cool pizza joint where we stopped for dinner one night. We don't have time in one video to show you everything along Atlantic Avenue but we show you enough to give you a good idea of what is there.

Yes, vacation shopping in the souvenir shops is the best! I always make time for a little retail therapy. I love putting all the ornaments we buy on the tree at Christmas and thinking back to all the memories we made along the way. Thanks so much for taking time to watch our tour, Craig and Linda!

VA Beach is just as beautiful as I remembered it, but seems less busy now than when I was there hanging out. Thanks for sharing your adventures. LIKE #2. 👍👍👍👍
It is still really busy most summers. I am not sure how it was this summer due to Covid. But all the times we went to VB in the summer in recent years, it was very busy. I think the crowds while we were there were low for a mixture of reasons: their peak season being over by mid-September when we went; plus it was overcast and windy our entire trip which would keep locals at home; and of course, Covid is still going on so that probably has resulted in more people staying at home. But it was kind of nice seeing it all without huge crowds. It is a beautiful area though. Thanks so much for watching!
I'm the opposite - I generally don't buy anything to bring back. That said, I will get a sticker to put on the car top carrier to help remind me of my travels (plus the videos obviously). Been to VA a couple of times, but never this part. Looks very nice.
Jack is the same way you are. If he was traveling alone, he rarely gets any kind of memento to bring home - just photos and videos he took. But I love having keepsakes and he plays along as long as it doesn't hit our wallets too hard. This is a very nice area- it was unfortunately windy and overcast the whole time we visited this trip. But when the sun is shining, it is even more gorgeous. Thanks so much for watching!
That is good that a lot of those places stay open in the winter. The Boardwalk looked like a fun place to visit.
Yes, this was a great beach resort town. We have visited several times over the years and love it each time we go. Even in the colder months, there is plenty to do in town - though I would advise against trying to swim in the ocean during such times. Thanks so much for watching our video!

i love going down to the oceanfront my favorite attraction to visit is the Nightmare Mansion year round Haunted house i love getting scared and the oceanfront itself even during the summer time is very pretty!

Exactly! It looks so much fun trying to ride the bucking bull - but if I could find one in a private room to ride without an audience watching, that would be perfect. I don't think they make them like that though. Virginia Beach was a lot of fun. There are so many things to do there. And the pizza was delicious! I always want a souvenir from our trips! Justin has done ifly before and said it was really fun! Funnel cakes are sooo good! Sounds like a good time!
Yes! I think Jack would be satisfied with just pictures and video of the trips but I always want to take a souvenir home to remember it as well! We are definitely going to do ifly. We forgot all about it this trip until the last day when we were touring around Atlantic looking for souvenirs and, by then, we didn't have time for it. But next time we travel to a town that has ifly, we will try it out! Funnel cakes are my favorite snack at theme parks, festivals, fairs. We always have to stop for one. The giant swing tower ride also called vertigo is approximately 100ft tall! The ride next to the swing ship, Flying bobs, is a fast music ride that goes over hills at really fast speeds in both directions too

I always enjoy how thorough your descriptions are of each area you visit. I'm a souvenir gal. Usually tshirts. Tourist trap locations are great for shops. I want to do the indoor skydiving thing. The price on the rides seems high. It wouldn't take too many rides to spend some serious coin. Getting off the tourist path is always fun for good local food joints. Fun video.

You missed Giovanni's Pizza! 20th & Atlantic. Been there for over 40 years, until the owner died early Summer 2023, and it closed for good. A beachfront institution.
We had eaten there before a few times over the years when we lived near Virginia Beach. We were very sorry to hear it closed down. It was so good. I wish we would have filmed there back when it was open. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
