    Thanks Gunnar. I recently got the w1100 (along with the 82/710/s450) to wing with. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but looking forward to using it this weekend. Excited to hear about the great wind range and glide. I’m currently on a Gong XL pro. Great foil but spongy Al mast, and pretty heavy. Doing ok with tacks but I haven’t mastered 360’s yet.

    Hi @Gunnar thanks for the fantastic review.
    Will you also be reviewing the 873 wing? I heard that the 873 has a thicker profile than the 1100 so is better for pumping or SUP foiling small waves without a wing?
    I'd be interested to know your opinion on this?

    Great review! Thank you! How would you compare pumping to the 1250? Is there an advantage in the 1250 for over 12kn wind?

    • @GunnarBiniasch
      @GunnarBiniasch  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Johnathan. The 1250 pumps easier than the 1100. I do not really see a major advantade of having the 1250 over the 1100 in more than 12 knots, at least for 85kg or below. That said. Manuvers like gybes and tacks are esier to learn on the 1250 if you are heavy,

  • @studioeukinesispilatespost6364

    Hi Gunnar, did you tested the moses 873? I do wind foiling and some wing foiling and I already have the kit Vento with the 790 plus the 873. Does buying the 1100 make any sense for me or it risks to be too similar with the 873 use?( Both are 2100 cm) thanks

    • @GunnarBiniasch
      @GunnarBiniasch  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi,
      Yes I have tested the 873 quite a bit. The 873 is ok, however the 1100 is better in almost all respects. It has a lower stall speed, it accelerates faster and smoother when pumping, it is faster and just works a lot better for Winging and Windfoiling in my opinion.

    Hi Gunnar. Great review. Was contemplating buying the 873 until I watched this video. I currently use the 633 kite foiling and absolutely love it. I just use the 75cm aluminum mast kite foiling. Would the 1100 wing be fine with the aluminum mast? Just trying to save some money. Lots of new gear to buy to get into wing foiling.

    Thank you very much Gunnar for this great review. I am considering getting a set of second hand w1100 from my local dealer for light wind wing foiling. May I know what sort of average speed I can get out from this wing for 10kt of wind. I am currently riding an Armstrong 75l board and hs1550 foil and my average top speed was only around 25-26kmh. Thanks.

      Thank you. It really depends on which stabiliser you use. I have has the 1100 up to about 22 knots with the S483 Stabiliser, but that is not really fun. Cruising speed of the 1100 is about 12-15 knots .

    I have owned the 1100 wing now for three month and use it with the 82 mast and prone surf only on it! At 4.22 you talk about the connection between the wing and fuselage being stiff and strong!. From my experience it is not and believe that connection to be way under designed for the 1100! Personally I am extremely disappointed and would like to hear if anyone else screws bend in that connection during use? I have to replace those screws every surf as they bend! Love to hear from some others with this wing!

    Love to work you spend on all the kite/wing/surf/sup foiling videos, have watch many of them quite a lott.
    I’m kitefoiling with my w633 and wanted to to expand my hobby to wingfoiling/supfoiling. So I’m looking for a nee frontwing.
    100kg and if it is possible I want to cross-use it also on the kite.
    Which wing do you reccommend?
    W1100, W790, W873 or something else?

      Hi Ron.
      Basically if you need more stability and/or more front foot pressure, add more angle. If you want to reduce frontfoot pressure and increase speed (at the cost of stability) use less angle.

      Thanks for this great tip!
      I didn't bother trying the delivered shims up until last weekend. This mainly because of lacking info on it...
      But now I have tried and it makes a world of difference!!!
      I had some troubles on my jibes on the standard set-up without shim, but when adding the 1.5 degree shim I suddenly could stand almost all of them... How such a little change can make such a difference!!!
      I recommend anyone using the SABFoil to try out this option and feel what shim suits you best...

    As always, very good info!!
    - any problems with breaching the water surface on the 75cm mast?
    - if you could choose only one moses wing to learn and progress winging in 15-25kt, would it be the 1100, or the 790? (I wish moses filled that gap!)
    Cheers

    • @GunnarBiniasch
      @GunnarBiniasch  Před 4 lety

      Hi Nick. If you try to carve too hard and lean too far, you will breach, but the wing can handle breaching quite well and it will recover quickly,
      For the windrange I would say the 1100 is the better choice for a one Wing solution.

    • @GunnarBiniasch
      @GunnarBiniasch  Před 4 lety +3

      Yes Florent. You can use the 91 Carbon Kite Mast. However I do not recommend this setup as the Kite mast is not so rigid, and it flexes a lot when used with the big wings, which makes it more technical to ride.

    For pure light wind performance would you recommend this over the 873? Trying to figure out if it is better to stick to standard 790 kit, or go directly for larger wings as my main interest right now is to extend lower wind limit of fun!

      Hi Andoni. You have a few options. With Tuttle Head you can either use the new Race Masts 106, Alu 95 or Windsurf 95. With the Windsurf 95 you can only use it with the Windfoil fuselage (900) so you have to have the tuttle box back in the Fin position. This works well with the old trifin raceboards.

      @@GunnarBiniasch That's great! What would you guess your top speed would be with the 450 stabilizer, for comparison ? Do you feel that you loose much low end with the race stabilizer ? Or is this setup better technically on both ends of the spectrum , just less stable ? Do you see any problem using it with a quatro drifter and the wind fuselage, with a plate adapter on the mast ? I would still be able to adjust the ing position correctly so that it is not too far forward despite the longer fuselage ? I am tending to believe that since I am riding on a lake and started from a vento 85 setup (with deep tuttle) , I should just keep using it with the 900 fuselage to get better low end and save some bucks, not having to buy a new mast and fuselage. Just a tuttle adapter and the 421 stab to get better speed.
