      @o kraid being rescued from zebes by raven beak, the x being written as surviving by infecting the chozo makes no sense because they could have spread to other planets and already taken over the galaxy. They also could have infected the dead federation soldiers on sr388 .

    • @emilycrow8278
      @emilycrow8278 Před 2 lety +6

      It does. In Zero Mission, you fight a prototype for Meta Ridley after killing Ridley earlier in the game. Super Metroid, you fight a completed Meta Ridley, having been saved by the space pirates. In Fusion, it's Ridley's corpse being infected by the X Parasite.

    • @theakiwar9118
      @theakiwar9118 Před 2 lety +6

      That’s blatantly false, it is explained. Ridley was heavily injured in Zero Mission, the pirates collected his living remains and cybernetically rebuild his limbs, wings and other parts. He now was referred to as Meta Ridley, when he was beaten in Prime, it took some time for him to recover and he came back as Meta Ridley in Prime 3. due to his Phazon infection he was able to regenerate many parts of his original Body. This Phazon Variant was called Omega Ridley. After Samus beat Omega Ridley he began regenerating massive portions of his body and began shedding his cybernetics off. He got the title Proteus Ridley for being able to cheat death many times. After he was sufficiently regenerated, he went to SR388 to steal a Metroid, fought Samus again and lost his consciousness. During his stay on SR388 he fully shed his metallic implants and was now fully organic again. Shortly thereafter with full strength he attacked Ceres research station, stole the Baby Metroid and went to Zebes. On Zebes he fought Samus one last time and finally died there. He basically fell apart. However when he died small parts of his DNA got on Samus suit
      After Zebes exploded, scientists scrubbed Samus suit and stole the DNA on it. With it they cloned many upon many lifeforms from Zebes that Samus has killed there, including something known as little Birdie
      As it turns out little Birdie is ridleys species and it swiftly turned into a Ridley. It doesn’t have the memories nor the intelligence of Ridley, but is a clone of him. The clone was killed by a queen Metroid leaving an empty husk, that husk was transported to the BSL research station where it has been kept in cold storage. An X copied its DNA. In sector 1 Samus faced the X clone of Ridleys clone called Neo Ridley. After it’s death no remnants of Ridley remained.
      So in conclusion he being able to come back again and again is explained. The original Ridley died in Super Metroid, got cloned by scientists who extracted his DNA from Samua suit died and infected by X.
      The one who we really don’t know how tf he returned is Kraid in Dread. He lacks any explanation aside from maybe Mawkin abducting a small Kraid, which is impossible given that the Mawkin where all infected with X and quarantined by Raven Beak

      @ahumanbeingfromtheearth1502 Před 2 lety +3

      Eh, kind of a surface level similarity. In terms of the darth vader comparison, they are both a big powerful foe that the protagonist looses to at first before later beating later, but that's just a basic storytelling trope. The more obvious comparison, raven beak being samuses "dad", has very little effect on samus, in comparison to how luke has his entire idea of himself shaken up, as the purpose of the reveal is more there for the sake of raven beaks character (him trying to act as if there is some familial relationship between him and samus and that he is responsible for her becoming what she is, when in reality he did nothing but give her a bit of his dna and by all accounts forgot about her till she was useful to him) than samuses. All it really does to samus is just make her even more fucking pissed off at him.
      I'm seeing even less for the emperor comparison, super powerful guy who wants to rule the world and/ or galaxy is a common sci fi trope and beyond that I got nothing.

      Sakomoto said that the Metroid Saga was complete, but there will be more Metroid games in the future.
      The Prime Trilogy falls between Metroid/Zero Mission and Metroid II/Samus Returns, and while Prime 1 is closely tied to the Metroid Saga, the 3 games have a story focused predominantly on Phazon. Possibly 4 will continue this arc(despite Corruption wrapping it up a bit) and we'll see more on it and it'll be it's own Phazon Saga by the time it ends.

      @sspectre8217 Před 2 lety +6

      I'm against a full retcon, the localization of that game really hurt the feel of the game and characters. A remake would work pretty well imo, just change some dialog, remove most of the monologues, update the controls, rebalance a few things(like healing and getting ammo from killing enemies instead pointing the remote up).
      The one cutscene that they'd need to scrap to make the writing work would be the one in which Adam's brother dies and replace it with one where young Samus actually has some agency and screws up which results in that death which would better explain both her and Adam's behavior towards each other. Also if they didn't forget about the assassin plot thread that'd be nice.

Because otherwise it could lead to retcons of games that already came out and…yeah.

      It wasn't so long ago that people that young were literally going wild in world wars. Samus joined the Federation military sometime around the age of fifteen to seventeen. We had real soldiers who were at that age in both world wars. Audie Murphy was sixteen when he tried to enlist, and seventeen when he was accepted into the U.S. Army thanks to a faked birth certificate.

Likely chance it will happen after Metroid Dread since they did this with Metroid Prime having connections to ZM and MP3 with SR and yes Dread. Chances are THAT Sylux cutscene happened within the starting events of Super Metroid.

    > A voice told Samus to stop [During the escape of ZDR]
    Wasn't that voice actually just the real ADAM? Since he would still most likely be active?
    > Quiet Robe X cured the effects of the Metroid Suit from Samus to keep it from overloading with energy
    Don't you mean that Quiet Robe-X actually neutralized the effects of the Metroid Suit with his Thoha DNA which was made to control the Metroids, to keep Samus from draining the power of the ship?

      To be fair, the scans don't confirm how much time takes place between log entries. The first few mentioning the destruction of their base could have been mere days or hours after they fled Zebes, with the final logs before they all died being much more recent, perhaps just before or after the distress signal was sent out.

    • @Cri_Jackal
      @Cri_Jackal Před 2 lety +10

      The original Ridley only actually dies twice, the first time in the first game, where he is then brought back via cybernetics, he gradually regrows his organic body until Super Metroid, where he is fully organic again, and then promptly dies permanently.
      He's then cloned in Other M, and again in Fusion.

    • @emblemblade9245
      @emblemblade9245 Před 2 lety

      The one fought in Fusion is the Other M clone, which was desiccated by the Queen Metroid in Other M and later picked up by the Federation and stored on the BSL. An X infects the corpse and transforms it into Ridley X, but it’s a zombie at most

    • @JohnnyYeTaecanUktena
      @JohnnyYeTaecanUktena Před 2 lety

      @o he only got cloned once the rest is just him actually being hard to kill as he regenerates and implants cybernetics onto his body and gets rid of those parts once they regrow. And Robot Ridley is just him making a robot in his own image

    • @JohnnyYeTaecanUktena
      @JohnnyYeTaecanUktena Před 2 lety

      @o Technically you are right however the one you fight in Fusion is a X infected corpse of the clone as you don't have to be alive to get infected and transformed by the X parasite you just have to have some bio material such as Nightmare. Like for some reason the Federation brought the petrified Ridley's corps aboard the BSL to study as i am sure they were going to make a bio weapon.
      Also fun fact if you go back after the fight with MB to Nightmares room you will find that Nightmare's corps is gone implying that the Federation took it already the same could be said about clone Ridley's corpse however i don't remember if you can go back to that room in the epilogue as all that is left is getting the rest of the items and killing Phantoon granted you can't do this in Hard Mode since there are no saves outside of save stations as in also no auto saves and that Ridley fight is a pain more so in Hard mode everyone dies to it even the speed runners of the game.
      Also additional fun fact that not many apparently know you unlock Hard Mode by 100%ing the game first and there are no item expansions and with the fact that enemies hurt more good luck on Ridley and Queen Metroid as ouch and the timing for sense move is more strict
