The only Shell worth using is the mutagenic shell. It has a large blast radius, and you get livestock while defending your colony and if you have the technology, you can even turn them back to recruit them. It's a 100% risk free of catpuring a raider or just to get some quick food.
Only problem is, the food you could get from it isn't considered Cannibalism...but that does make me wonder if it technically is since it was also a person.

I was going to say this as well; Nothing says warcrimes than reducing an entire raid to farm animals using mad science and an auto mortar. Feel free to capture the now furry freaks for that sweet moo morph milk and make more shells or other abominations!

the Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids mod lets you use genetics from space bugs to mutate your prisoners' limbs or turn them into a bug pet.
i REALLY should not have made a mod list of over 300 mods i can swap in and out at will.

How to commit Rim-Crimes
Step one: Begin a normal game of Rimworld.
Step two: Wait for things to go horribly wrong.
Step three: That tribal doesn't need both his lungs, does he? It's just one time, until I get back on my feet. I'm still a good person.
Then you realize removing that lung raises your medical skill.
Lol why does his clan leader still send them over to me?
Not their lungs anymore, the idiot won't learn!
I don't even need the money! It unnescessarily boosts my wealth.
But organ harvesting is SO MUCH FUN!!!
Step 4: oh no my hauler lost a kidney! I'll just "borrow" a replacement from the raider who shot him.
Step 5: wait a second, the negative mood debuff only stacks 3 times? I can give them a nice room and steal as many organs I need!

No prrisoner died in my colony. They are just become brain processors to summon the machine god.
The prison labor mod combined with the FORBIDDEN mod (rimjobworld from loverlab) allows you to use prisoners as prostitutes. I think that may qualify as a war crime.

Why is it that Rim-Crimes was the only thing I needed to read to immediately be interested in seeing what chaos I can bring upon the rim?
BioReactor mod. Capture raiders and put them in a pod to generate as much power as a wood burning generator, while feeding them the ground up paste made from their fallen compatriots to keep them alive. Indefinately.
personally i like the Android Tiers mod, because you can install a VXO chip in a prisoner's brain and a VX2 or VX3 chip into your colonists brains and use the prisoner's bodies as surrogate puppets (with all of the controlling colonist's skills and traits) to go raid the tribes that they came from, allowing you to wage wanton wars against your neighbors and not have to worry about wether your puppets die.
I mean you can also make surrogate androids, but theres not enough moral and ethical issues with those.
Ahhh, the glory of using war prisoners as puppets.
there are still ethical issues after one of the tiers the andriods start having social needs and can have mental breaks there sentient at that point
its also a ethical issue of makeing sentient robots just so they work for you
also theres a reprogrammer that you can use to randomize or clear there personality traits which doing to a sentient robot is prety fucked
(you can find archotech andriods but they hat humans and have a personality trait that means all there mental breaks involve murder)
@@kellynolen498 its been a while since ive been in rimworld but i did infact find one of those t4/t5 or whatever bots and i basically uploaded a colonist with better traits and no murder involved from the skynet and overwrote them lol.
The colony that I committed by far the most war crimes with was actually the one and only time I chose the tribal start, which I proceeded to flip on its head by essentially becoming the British Empire, except instead of Redcoats and the Royal Navy we had power-armored furries and mutagenic close air support. As you can probably tell, the idiotic tribal ai which tried repeatedly to sap through mountains not connected to my base did not stand a chance. There was also chemical and nuclear weapons programs and an underground state-of-the-art prison/machine labor farm. To cap it off we built an unstoppable AI that we promptly used to crush all planetary resistance to our rule.
I believe everyone is a good person, until they play rimworld

My favorite warcrime has been making a cult with Rim of Magic, then have the cult sacrifice people the Chronomancer keeps bringing back! (I mean, it must violate some form of convention, no?)

You forgot 'beat your prisoners mod', great addition to every prisoner mod playthrough, nothing better than beating your prisoners, while having them fight each other, and forcing them through labor or turning them into farm animals etc. etc.
They accidentally die before I can harvest them because of that

I like to create immortal, insane cyborgs that can’t die, and send them on raids
a ship, plane or helicopter from SRTS expanded and its addons + white phosphorus shells from advanced munitions + one of the ship sensors from Save Our Ship 2 (they are able to open a map without a pawn having to be on the map tile) = long-range bombing with next to no recourse and in the case of pirates praise for doing one of the worst things you can do to a human

I fully condone any and all war crimes I commit in rim world if you're ever in a similar situation.
After playing this game I finally understand the source of my unending existential dread. It's got nothing to do with the impending collapse of society as we know it into techno-barbaric tribalism. I need to stop going through drive throughs. Who knows how long I've been living under the cosmic shadow of the Ate Without Table debuff.
In my current play though I have a mod that allows you to beat prisoners and my warden asked a pawn to join he said no, and my warden pawn with 20 skill in melee with a baton would "help" them see the errors of there ways then heal there wounds and ask them to join again and "help" them again then be sent to work in the mines. In short that pawn was happy to join my Conley XD
I have found that the best way to make sure your prisoners stay on their best behavior is to simply install a flamethrower turret inside your prison.
Ah yes I remember when I didn't know warcrimes mods existed and used bad implants on traitors (people who failed on their job or are useless or burned my devilstrand )

The forbidden mod has a plenty of war crimes options, you could have a human lay eggs thats is beatiful.
For *EXTREME* warcrimes, there's also Rimjobworld. Just in case there's anyone here looking to experience guilt, regret, and sexual confusion while playing Rimworld, haha
First you let them lay 2 eggs a day, then milk them and at last even gives you new colonists.
At the small price of 2 nutrient paste a day.

the forbidden mod gives you great vat-grown "hotel managers" for the hospitality mod... I guess I don't commit war crimes in that case (probably) but I am profiting off someone else's war crime. but seriously only able to do social but having over 12 levels in it and having a double passion for it as your 4th colonist = a hotel run, Also, "fulfilling a homeless persons life long dream of owning a "hotel" ", is a lot better on paper than " "prisoner run" "hotel" " despite essentially being the same thing. Maybe just me but "Justified" and "subtle" war crimes are more my thing (I type that as I'm thinking of writing a comment about white phosphorus...)

I see Bran is a man of culture.
There's literally a mod where you can implant bombs in the brains of your prisoners, soldiers, and slaves so that if they escape, rebel, or even *die* you can remove the arduous, unnecessary cleanup and save space on graves.
And if your melee soldier is downed or dead, well, he was probably close enough to catch a couple raiders in the explosion.

Sounds like the regular androids mod.
Only downside is that they can not be revived of the explode.
I got like three quests to look after prisoners, so I replaced their legs with stumps, then removed the stumps. Legs aren't organs, so not only was this completely fine with the quest givers, but my colonists weren't upset. The prisoners were quiet, and never tried to run away.
Questionable Ethics is one I think you missed. While not warcrimey in itself I did have fun growing clones and harvesting them for meat, then having a lovers pair of prisoners fight to the death over and over again through cloned immortality. Then ther was the brain stapling people into mindless drones who worked my quaries and combined with Extended organs redux turning them into four armed mutants and in general having a wonderful time.
Though I'm not surprised you didn't add RJW that is more sexual assualt than warcrimes but all the same.
Rape a prisioner or a slave is a pretty begginer war crime... and make them pregnant with an insect egg is the cherry in the top.

My favorite shell is the swarm shell from misc robots ++, they tear raids apart

How about a Midas Gas Mortar, which causes who ever is caught in it to drop all their gear, based on a real world type of gas that makes metal start to heat up until it's red hot and burns your hands and makes wood and stone super slippery.
My favorite mortar shell is just the standard HE.
Fun ideas for new mortar shell types:
Rock: a shell that expands into a 3*3 mineable rock outcropping(think meteor impact shell).
Implosion: a shell that drags everything in range into the impact tile before applying damage.
That one is broken when done en mass
How about a motor that spawns a bunch of insectoids where it lands?
I prefer Antigrain warheads
You should use the rimcities mod with the nuke mod so you can indiscriminately vaporise civilians
The idea of having to lock down half your base because of a containment breach of a science experiment gone wrong is awesome

On the note of napalm, it's worth noting that Combat Extended has prometheum for flame weapons. It's a step worse than napalm, in that it is pyrophoric. Prometheum makes prometheum pools and gives pawns the "prometheum-soaked" hediff. Prometheum fires are difficult to extinguish, can burn mechanoids, and re-ignite after extinguished.

My favorite warcrime to commit is turning people into furries with Pawnmorpher.

Good old Geneva suggestions
My favorite are the mutagenic mortor shells from Pawnmorpher. Incoming raiders; outgoing herd of sheep.
I use a combination of locks (to open certain doors for prisoners giving them a walk in freezer and garden so they feed themselves with a paste dispenser) prisoner harvesting (for the bad ones) prison labour (to assign work to prisoners so they can grow food and drugs and clean after themselves) and prison arena (gives high recreation to both my pawns and me) and the prisoner ransom mod(to demand ransom) this way I use all the not so dead enemy's
As for the dead ones a combination of kill for me( let's animals group in attack groups) and taking corpse eating animals that can live under 0 temperature
Well, you can download unfamous RimJobWorld and throw your prisoner into the nearest infestation cave, when bugs use the prisoner to... um... store a trumendous amount of eggs inside
Or you can commit less... complicated things with male colonists and female prisoners

You forgot Pit of Despair from the Rim of Madness series. What's more war crime than tossing your prisoners into a hole that has a small chance to give them (eventually) fatal brain parasites that also cause massive mood breaks.
