    Synthesizing ideas across disciplines is a brilliant way to create much-needed context for students. This will make learning meaningful.

    This may sound strange but this makes me more open to the belief in a Higher Power, because for all these things to have come together so orderly even in such a chaotic universe purely on accident without some sort of force guiding it seems beyond imagination.

      +Urbanfour when you consider the amount of chances that the universe has to form life (100's of billions of galaxies with 100's of billions of stars in each of them), it becomes very probable.

    • @klansix
      @klansix Před 8 lety

      right, and where did that higher power coming from?

      +Pale Moon you could also ask what set off the big bang, and where did the universe before the big bang come from. As in the thing that exploded.

      Urbanfour you can only hypothesize these things and there are countless hypothesis about where did it all began.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't it been found that certain apes and marine mammals develop and pass on a sort of culture? Wouldn't that count as collective learning as well?

    Skips over proteins and barriers and goes straight from simple molecules to repliacting DNA. Was excited for that part! Also dont agree with his idea that we're the only species to accmulate information. Apes have culture, dolphins, elephants, birds etc. And ants are farmers. Maybe there is even an animal species that trades! Though I can't think of one. Anyone else?

    I don't understand how Hydrogen and Helium formed 380 million years after the Big Bang (as written on the timeline) and then later David Christian says that stars lit up the universe 200 million years after the Big Bang (he says this around 6:48). Wouldn't there need to be the atoms before the stars?

    The TED Talk of David Christian is without the rolex commercial. It is only 18 minutes long, while this misused so called TED Talk is more than 22 minutes. That is at least 3 minutes world wide pubblicity for rolex.

    what happened first ? the DNA or the other things in the cell that then the cell decided to stabilize and preserve by having the DNA ? I mean the idea of DNA is quite complex, confusing and fascinating, and in a way it's regulating machine , means that there is regulating controlling force maybe came from the level before .I am not talking about divine force but i just suggest to make this theory more thinkable by supposing a regulating thing in each level especially when it comes to thing that we know its complexity such as our bodies . I am a medical student , and the amount of regulating manners our bodies manifest tells that it 's not just so complex but so intelligent even for our brains to be wrapped around it sometimes . People who study molecular biology and medicine in general know what I am talking about. Another thing when you said that there were no time no matter no nothing and then suddenly a tiny thing out of the blue formed and gave us the big bang ?where and how this tiny thing come

    I'm writing a book over this topic. It's weird that I have never seen this video, but "came up" with very similar ideas. I hope I can bring more clarity to the topic.

    This arrangement makes people run from the evolutionary model and towards intelligent design. 'We can see this happening over 4 billion years.' ~ this argument is so dead he's talking about 'magic' and 'Cinderella.'

    4:15 He has basically proven the existence of God.
    Everything of this complexity cannot come out of nothing. God created this universe in an instant. Scientists that negate God nowadays are so ridiculous and fools. With all the proof we have of the creation of the universe they still insist that God doesn't exist, yet they use words like "lucky" and "magical".
    Romans 1:22 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools"
