Just checking to see if dealer actually replaced my RAV4 hybrid 12V TrueStart battery

How do you know work’s been done to your car? Do you often have broken or misplace trim pieces after your visit to the repair shop? I often check to see after the repair if work has really been done.
2017 RAV4 hybrid XLE TrueStart battery replacement. Just remove a few panels in the trunk and you can replace the battery yourself. The hybrid XLE model uses a 325 CCA TrueStart AGM battery. Model number is 00544 21161-325. Battery is warranted for 84 months.
The hybrid limited model might use a different size higher capacity battery. Prices vary from $200 to $300 for the AGM battery.
If your hybrid does not start, check fuse at battery positive terminal. There’s a 60 amp and 140 amp fuse with an accessory 7.5 amp. If the fuses are blown here, your car will not start. Part number for connector is 90982-05063.

325 CCA is pretty wimpy. Heck, anything less than 600 CCA isn't desirable IMO.

This is a tiny battery but is big enough to start the hybrid car and keep the lights and AC going. Hybrids are easier on batteries as there is no conventional starter. The battery lasted 6 1/2 year and maybe more if I were to take a chance. If you can get the battery to fit inside the compartment with the brackets, you can buy a bigger CCA battery.

@@wtam69 Correct me if I'm wrong, the 12V battery doesn't ever start the engine. It just starts the Hybrid system like you said, and the Hybrid system starts the engine when needed.

@@Jay-fy7bn I believe that’s the case. I’ve used a 7Ah battery to boost start a Prius before. The Prius needed around 30 amps to start the system that starts the car. I believe my old battery would have lasted for another year but didn’t want to chance.
