  • The forecast was ominous! High winds and heavy seas!
Well, we got down to the beach before the maelstrom!
The wind was ENE at 10, seas were 5ft and building. The wash was 200 feet wide. Some bait fish were showing no breaks.
I managed one fish on a 1oz chrome Kastmaster with a single hook bucktail.
One of the best Snook Lures for surf fishing.

Hi John, Well, It looks like the Kastmaster was the ticket. Now you know what's matching the hatch. We just hit a patch of cool and windy days up here. The off shore hurricanes look like they are hitting your beaches. The Fall Season should be starting very soon. Good luck, Mickey

I've had SNOOK success with the 3/4 and 1oz Kastmasters in Florida. I like the 3/4oz with the neon blue stripe. I will be buying a re-stock on these from "Discount Tackle". They are offering the best pricing on the 1oz sizes. I'll have to keep hunting down the 3/4 oz ones though. They are harder to find.

Hi John, My Walmart had a good supply of Kastmasters in several sizes this summer, but most are gone now. Hope you can find them. Good luck, Mickey

@@1539Mickey I bought the entire supply from Walmart in Rockaway, NJ. They were on sale for $5.00 each. I only have two 1oz left. The small Spanish Mackerel and Ribbon Fish bite the line where it enters the water. I've watched them do it. SNIP! Gone!

Wouldn't it be great it all lures would come with a free replacement if you lose them.
