You have all kinds of tricks up your sleeve. Using the air hammer getting the bearing of and on was great!

Sometimes you can take a shaft like that and slam it down on end on a block of wood a few times and the bearing will come off that way as well. Depends on how tight of a fit it is.

Chase whenever I see a castle nut on the end of the threaded pto shaft that needs a cotter pin , like a wheel bearing I was thinking it should be snugged up like a trailer wheel bearing not supper tight. I'm not sure, but does the pto end turn as easily as it did before ?

I put a cotter pin back in, I just didn't capture it on camera. The PTO on this tractor didn't turn freely to begin with. It has a wet clutch pack that engages the PTO and the wet clutches have a bit of drag, which makes it a little harder to determine the preload on the bearings. It looks like the clearance should be set with shims on the outer flange, where the silicone is, or maybe the gasket that goes there is supposed to set the clearance. I was thinking like you at first maybe the nut was supposed to be a bit loose, but that allows the drive gear to wobble which probably isn't good either. Wish I would have had some information on it... I ran it probably 30 minutes with PTO engaged and I didn't hear anything that sounded expensive happening, whatever that's worth 😂.

@Life With Chase I think your good then because if it was too tight it would have gotten smoken hot in 30 minutes. 👍

How replace seal just loses four bolts take outer housing off? Someone saying small washer on end Pto shalf fall into transmission. I didn't see any small washer on shalf in your video.

Yep I think you just remove the 4 bolts and you can change the seal. They made 2 or possibly 3 different PTO setups I believe so they are different. I know one the shaft is removable and flips to give 1000 rpm PTO. This one doesn't. It's been a while since I did this so I don't remember anything about a washer. Sometimes I have to watch my own videos to remember what I did 😂
