The use of the grid is a GAME CHANGER!! I'm newish to Cricut and never thought you use it!
I want to thank you because you had the willingness to do this and show us how to do it, what to do, the things that space design is messing with, etc. I know that making these videos take time. So, thank you for your time. That was worth it! I have subscribed to your channel!
This is a great tutorial! Instead of duplicating my circles, I just weld it back together lol. Thank you for sharing!
Loves this!!! Thank you so much! I understand slicing so much better and created my own 3 foot Mike Wasowski not 2 hours after watching your video!
Omgosh!!!! I love the way you lined up the squares!!! I literally have been eye balling them!!! Thank you
I really enjoy watching your videos. You really take the time to explain everything. Thanks so much!
Thank you soooo much for taking the time to explain the whole process! You were amazingly patient (inspite of Design Space's flaws) đ
Wow. This was a lot of work, but so worth it. Great tutorial Corinne.
Iâve watched many videos & as usual you are the best!!!! Thank you for walking through everythingggggg
Thank you thank you love it . Never thought of doing it this way. And every detail you shown helped a lot. Thanks thanks.
Thank you so much!!! I could not figure it out. Your video was SO MUCH help!!
I have looked at every video on larger than mat videos and this one right here got me goingâŠ. Thank you
Super cute; Marie is one of my favorites as well because of her sassiness - "Ladies don't start fights, but they can finish them!"
Love this idea!!!
đđđExcellent job. I loved cricut initially because as a newbie the cartridges made it easier for me to be creative but then as i got experienced it now makes its hard for me to be creative...lol but I'm already 150 cartridges invested. Im waiting for the Cameo 4 Pro to come out. Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial.
Thankyou for doing a very detailed tutorial.
Wow, love your tutorial.Thank you so much
Thank you so much for your help!!
Your video was very helpful. I watch the whole thing first and will be watch again when I create my first design off the Matt
Im so glad it helped you!!! What are you going to make?
Great video! Will definitely have to try something large. Tks!
Iâm happy to report that since Iâve only tried it twice, it was 98% precision so I wouldnât be complaining at all. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge with us
Learned something new today. I use Silhouette Studio. Good lesson. Thanks.
Wonderful video, well explained.
Thanks for doing this tutorial. I was super helpful. I even created a file of just the square grid which I can use when doing larger than mat projects as a starting place/ template (and then I just save my new projects as a unique file so I keep my template file).
That's such a great idea! :)
I know it's not super helpful for the Cricut tutorial, but in the Silhouette Software, if you have the designer edition; all you have to do it make your image as large as you want and then select "Tiling" and it automatically separates it for you onto different mats and into pieces and all you have to do is cut it out. And, as someone else posted you can select all the white pieces and choose to "Ungroup" and so on. It is a MUCH easier process. I actually make super large black images for all of our windows for Halloween and they are quite large to fill up the window. Cricut Design Space is the reason I rarely use my Cricut. I hate it. It's awful.
@lori Archuleta do you need a curtain type of printer to use the Silhouette software. Because I am trying to make life size cardboard animals for my daughters 4th birthday this year.
I'm like what is all this tripple work....
Lori Archuleta can I do thisâŹïž same method with business edition?
Is there a video about this?
Thank you so much! đđđ
I am so glad you mentioned the Cricut update....I thought it was just me losing it! ;)
Awesome video!!
â€â€â€ I LOVE MARIEE
Thank you very detail . You are the great
Amazing đČ
Hi Corinne
Thank you so much for doing it all through to the end, I think to help I would number the back of the pieces to help where they go and arrows.
See look so Beautiful at the end.
I would love to do a hello kitty one, but will have to wait till I get a computer.
đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
Great video. Thank you so much.
Know this was 3 years ago but is it exactly what I needed for the project I want to do. Thank you!
I made Nala from lion king with these instructions and I am so excited. It came out Awesome. Thank You so much for explaining so well. New Subscriber â€ïž
awww I love nala!! I am so glad you enjoyed the video!
Love your video, great explanation Thanks! :)
Thank you so much for watching!
I made Elsa for my daughter using your tutorial thank you
Iâm prerry good on the Cricut but had not thought of this . I know how to slice a little but now that I see how you are doing this to make her bigger, I GET IT NOW YAY. she will be like a big puzzle. Itâs a lot of work but worth it. And to think, I was going to try another method today that would of been MUCH HARDER. THANKKKKKKKK YOUUUUUU. đ
Stitch? My granddaughter loves stitch! Have to try one of the larger cut outs for my youngest granddaughter & my great-grand-daughters.
This is epic and I can't wait to try something like this with Jack Skellington! Lol :P Thank you so, so much for taking the time to make this video and explain it all even through DS was being annoying, you rock!
The Pumpkin Patch Iâd LOVEEEE to see your jack skellington!!!
Awesome job lots of patience....and this is just cardstock
OMG you did a great job!!! Looks easy but I think that kind of job need a lot of practice.
This was only my second one :)
thanks for sharing
Wow!!
What a great video! Thanks for sharing. Just one question: why do you slice all those detached white parts like the paw and ears?
Thanks
I am going to be using your method very soon to make designs on a horse trailer!!!
That sounds awesome!
Great tutorial Corinne! Thank you for the detailed instructions. đ€©
Corinne, love your videos. Have you considered (when working on a larger than mat project) to duplicate colors by sections and then contour? It may be a lot of duplication, but gives full sections/pieces that will fit on a mat. If needed, larger sections can then be sliced.
I was just going to suggest the same thing!
And this video was awesome! Thank you.
Are there any videos that show this?
You made my day! Loved the video very organized to the point I was able to create my design! đđ»
Wow that's a lot of work. With the Silhouette Cameo all you have to do us select the image and un group it. The you have all your separate part instantly with one click. Was thinking about getting a Cricut but having second thoughts now.
this is ungrouped by color but not by each tiny piece. I don't know if the silhouette does each piece but yes Cricut has its downfalls.
I was thinking the same thing
OMG ! . I would either kill myself or put the damn $$$ down for a pro-sized plodder before going through all that crap LOL
Thanks for the tutorial! Do you sell these? Is there a market for them?
Super helpful, thank you!
I really enjoyed watching! Learned a lot! My husband had a she-shed built for me, it has a full glass front door. My dream is to do this with my Bitmoji, looking out the door welcoming my friends and family in to join me! Now my question is, Is it possible to have this 2 sided? So I came enjoy the full picture on both inside and outside of the door. Never ever did this before, as a matter of fact I am new at this whole Cricut world thing. But willing and excited to try!
You just cut one regular and duplicate and mirror the other one :)
Omg i thought it was just me. Iâve been having the same problems. It even deleted a whole project that i was doing and i had to start all over again. It was frustrating.
Hi love all ur videos grest job at explaining but can i do this with a clipart without undoing every piece just slice the clipart n putting it together please thank u
you would have to print each piece out then glue it together since clip art isn't a layered project
@@CorinneBlackstone oh ok thank u
Thanks for the video where did you get the file?
I created this one but i have seen them on etsy
This is so beautiful. Do you know if this would work with my circut expressions? ( Yes I still have the original) hehe
No i doubt it would. You would need to be able to slice the picture
Not sure if it May be helpful but it's something I do that helps me ; You can just screenshot the screen just in case you do move the pieces you won't have to worry about forgetting where they go
Can you also use this method for enlarging names ?
Absolutely!
how do you display the final project?
If one wanted to make something like this for outdoor use, what would you suggest (as far as materials?)
Wood and vinyl
@@CorinneBlackstone Thanks Corinne!
I have never worked with wood... any specific kind I should experiment with (and tools?)
hi new to the cricut family and i was wondering does the image have to be layered?
To do it in multiple colors yes
if I print the white and pink twice I can do this double sided right
Yes
Thank you so much for your tutorial.
but I'm having an issue. not sure if I'm doing something wrong, please help.
the file i have is an SVG. I Ungroup my images and moved them away, followed step by step. but when i was trying to click on the square and click the black solid image my slice was grayed out. i kept trying to click back the square then the black image and nothing. what can i be possibly doing wrong.?
Iâm having the same issue. Not sure what Iâm doing wrong.
So your 11" squares don't overlap any when you are cutting the sections of the large piece? It seems like overlapping the same amount on each part (like approx 1/2 inch) would help with the taping, but I haven't done this before. Thanks!
you do not want over lap because it will be VERY obvious if you have overlap. You want as smooth a finish as possible.
Hi ! I'm Simona from Italy thai you for share your work. For cutter fommy which cutter use it in the Cricut macchine because knife dont make right cut. Can you show me how apllication do you use it?
Itâs all done with cardstock and itâs just the blade that comes with the machine the premium fine point blade
Thank youuu
My design space seems to boot me out every sinle time once i slice my images more that 10 times and i have to save what i have and start over again sometimes. Not sure if anyone else has the same issue but i hope Cricut ds fixes this glitch.
How did you get Marie layered like that?
Its and SVG off etsy but I have videos that show you how to create your own SVGS
Hi Corinne thank you for this! I'm trying to decide whether to purchase a cricut becuase in our case our art is watercolor, not individual color layers. If we want to do large character cutouts what process would you recommend?
This works for print then cut images which is likely more on the side of what you want to do
@@CorinneBlackstone oh ok (don't have one yet so not sure if I understand the terminology correctly haha) but I just watched your watercolor flower sticker video, would that be the print and cut process you're referring to?
@@bruddersbooks7321 yes
@@CorinneBlackstone ok thank you so much for your help and quick reply! I'm sure I'll be following you a ton now that I'm new to this cricut world. :)
Where did you purchase this SVG? I looked couldn't find
www.etsy.com/listing/821927472/cute-marie-svg-dxf-eps-pdf-png-cricut
Can you do this if your image doesn't have the solid background piece? I ungrouped this image and it doesn't! Ugh! Thanks for the tutorial! Do you attach the finished piece to a thicker surface for standing?
You would need a soild back. Just duplicate the whole image and weld. That will make you a solid piece to stick it to
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you!! I was all pumped up to do it after watching your video and then that just totally killed my momentum!! Haha, now I feel much better!!!
Iâm having a very hard time cutting mine out. I have changed the material type to medium cardstock and more pressure and it still ruins the paper. I changed the blade, material type, pressure and canât get it. HELP!!!!
Its likely a mat issue. You need a good sticky mat
Question: what kind of paper did you use?
This is an 80 lb cardstock
Can you use this similar process for iron shirts?
You could but it wouldn't really be a great idea unless you have to make something bigger than 23.5x11.5
@@CorinneBlackstone My dilemma is I donât have a sublimation printer but Iâm trying to eliminate the slice lines that comes from cutting the picture up and putting large images on shirts. I hope that made sense.
@@chelleslifestyle54 it does and yeah this would work but you will still have to piece them together and trim them a bit
Do you laminate these ?
I personally do not but you can
Can I make less cuts by using a 12x24 mat going in cross sections? If so would I still need to slice all the small pieces separately as you did?
You can make larger cuts with 12x12 paper yes. You only need to slice if the piece wonât fit on your paper
Will you please post a link to the SVG file you used. I can't find it
Did you use a maker for this project ?
Yes but it's going to be done the same on the explore series
I have really wanted to learn this can you please help me but i use silhouette lol
Is it possible to make a much larger prop?
Absolutely. It would just mean more pieces but yes you could make it for the most part as big as you want. I mean going like 25 feet would be crazy but it could be done :)
Hey "booty" is upside down! that's why the body portion doesn't look right. the more rounded curve should be at the bottom. I see you fixed it in the end, but just in case anyone else is trying to figure out how you got the "square peg to fit into the round hole"
what are you using for the back that you put all the pieces on?
Cardstock
were do you get it that big?
@@debbushee6970 as shown in the video the cardstock is all cut down the create the design including the black layer which is the back. The sheets are 12x12 sheets or 8.5x11 sheets of cardstock itâs all then pieces together with tape
Hi, which kind of cricket do u have? I want to purchase one where i can cut foams, paper, felt and harder board.. help me pls
I have all three machines. For those types of materials you'll be best to purchase the cricut maker.
Hello how do you turn your image to a svg?
Heres a video I did on how to make a layered svg czcams.com/video/nk41z4qdY8k/video.html
What kind of cardstock I can use
His was done with 65lb cardstock you can use any kind you like
Hi Corinne,
am I able to slice an image if its not layered? I don't know why I don't get the slice option when I click on my images. not sure what I'm doing wrong
You are selecting too many things at once. You can only select two lines on the layers panel when you slice
Hi there where did you her I would like to make her thsnks
Etsy
Where do you find a image like this? As in for it to have layers
You look for a layered svg. I got this from etsy
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you
Iâm not familiar with cricut software, is this basic software you get with the machine?
Yes this is included with the machine. You can play with it before you get a machine
I liked how you can easily take the layers apart. I have the silhouette cameo and I donât believe it has that capability with the basic software I have. I did figure out how to do this with the silhouette but it was a bit harder.
am i able to do this on my iphone ? or does it have to be on computer ??
You can do this with the app. Itâs a tad harder on the smaller screen but it can be done
Can you do this with any image?
You sure can. Just be sure you have a solid background to keep it stable
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you so much for quick reply, great video btw.
Will she fit on a 12 X 12 sheet a
lol in one piece?
Cricut can only 11.5 inches
How was the Marie silhouette done
It's all shown in the video. Using contour to create the solid shape.
How do you mount to wall?
Double sided tape, command strips, sticky tack, push pins, lots of options
Where do you get your 12x24 black card stock?
I dont have cardstock that big. I'm honestly not sure
Corinne, how do I do giant numbers. Do I have to do a SVC? I just picked a font from Cricut.
Nope. Just slice em. No need to make them an svg
@@CorinneBlackstone thanks. Can they be slice over 12x24 inches?
@@medabrittman they sure can
Corinne Blackstone Thanks again for some direction đ
can u cut to 24 inch mat for larger pcs?
I would certainly do it that way. It would require fewer pcs. Also, no need for positioning background pcs one by one. Select first two, copy and position them together. I see lots of room for being more efficient here.
I did everything you said to but mine is saying âimage too large. Reduce image size to 11.5 x 23.5 or less.â How do I fix that??
Mine is saying the same thing
Iâve been trying to connect my Mac and my chrome book to the cruitcut but for some reason my machine does not want to connect on either. Frustrating I have to do everything in my phone and I dint get the exact format as you do in you desk top
The chromebook is not really compatible with the cricut. You can use the app but thatâs it. As for the max make sure your Bluetooth is on and you are using the latest operating system.
