Sunderland has been run into the ground by rhe council since the end of the fifties both Labour and Conservatives (PULLED THE TOWN HALL DOWN IN FAVOUR OF PRISON BLOCK IN WEST PARK). good architecture was torn down too please who i don't know but i bet money changed hands. Nearly every project has failed in some way. They can't make up their mind which is the way forward . We had sandstones paving in Fawcett St which looks like a badly laid cobble lane. We have become a very poor shopping mall with very poor amenities.The vast majority of drinking establishments and cafes attract a lot of undesirables. And if you've noticed the town is full of seagull shit along prigeon and other birds crap besides all the vomit and thrown away food and litter. Ho for the days of my youth.
