The Construction & Opening of The Bridges shopping centre - Sunderland (1988)

The construction and opening of The Bridges in October 1988 featuring Princess Anne.
The VHS tape runs for about 25 minutes where the mayor
talks about The Bridges bringing more jobs into Sunderland etc. I've only included a small bit of the mayors speech. The rest of the tape is Princess Anne officially opening The Bridges, greeting people and then leaving
I don't much about The Bridges myself as I'm not from Sunderland. I managed to get the VHS tape years ago from my Grandad who's company based on Teesside managed to do some of the steel work for The Bridges.
I know the quality isn't great and I've recorded it off the TV as I don't have a capture card but at least it's something.

Thanks for this - I was living in Sunderland at the time, and the construction effort was nothing short of awesome. Putting a roof over the whole town centre!
