Cadeaux at the Chateau: CHRISTMAS GIFTS & DECORATIONS!

- This is the second of our special CHRISTMAS themed gift openings! We'll be opening lots of festive gifts throughout advent so that we all get into the holiday spirit. I hope that it will be a great opportunity for everyone to get inspiration for thoughtful, unusual Christmas gifts, crafts and decorations!

In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. CZcams earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us 💖💖💖

Same thing happened with my aunt but right across town. They wouldn't let her only son or her sister see her even the last 24 to hold her hand while she passed. I find that hard to swallow and it has put a dark cloud over 2020 knowing there are elderly confused and without family visiting...idk...God bless you. If it were my mother, they would have to pull me from the door handles to the building. I can't imagine.
Kris, I hope your Mum is doing well. I know this is so very hard for you to not be able to visit and love on her. My second grand-child was born in Texas May 6th and I have yet to get to hold her with a visit due to COVID. Thank goodness for FACE-TIME. We'll all get through this together. Remember, there is strength in numbers. Love to all.

Oooh, LaLande part Deux! It is so exciting how much you have raised for all the different charities with the Cadeau blogs! It’s just Christmas every day at LaLande! All the gifts are wonderful, but the advent calendar for Diesel takes the prize today and the dog sweaters. We have a winner!
Loved the video! I'm a great-grandmother from Central California, USA. My daughter, Heather Capps, is coming to visit you, God willing and Covid is gone, and we're both so excited for her to come.
I wanted to share a tip with you when I saw those darling battery-operated tea lights. If you have wonderful candles or painted candles that you would like to keep burn them down just deep enough to the depths of these tea lights then insert one into the hole that the burning flames made, which should be the perfect size and vola , your favorite candle will last for years but glow each night as if it were really burning. I was thinking the same thing tonight as I laughed out loud (sitting by myself) watching the banter and gift opening. I can’t get over how thoughtful and creative the gift givers are.
I know it's great I think because Stephanie has so much genuine joy and excitement about everything they receive! She could find joy and beauty in a white paper napkin if someone sent her one. Lol I love her spirit of gratitude and how she appreciates every detail of every gift.

Those tea boxes are so cute. When my daughter lived in England, she use to send cute things like that and especially the Roses chocolates. You are such a fun bunch. Greetings from Iowa. I had to add, piñon nuts are delicious, they are prized by the Native Americans. I had an aunt and uncle who lived on a ranch in Nevada and when these nuts were ready, you had to get them fast to beat the others who also liked them. I’ve never seen coffee made from them. Let us know how the coffee was Selmar.
Diesel looked so cute in his new outfit even though he didn’t have a clue what the heck it was all about.! Can’t wait to see his Christmas tree get up! I am sure he is going to enjoy his Advent Calendar right down to the last nibble. Glad Ruby was included too...even though he can’t come in. :)

Just coming home from our cabin today and passed a couple of peacocks that always hang out by a house we pass. There are roads everywhere around the house and they just wander around and never seem to get hurt. I want to send them to the Chateau for I think they deserve a more peaceful life.

Stephanie maybe your charity this month could be for childhood cancer since you have a children's book that contributes to childhood cancer. Only 4% of all funds raised for cancer go to childhood cancers and that included all forms of their cancers. Also "Escape to the Chateau DIY" just premiered here in the US so I feel all the chatelaines will have a brand new bigger audience from America.
OMG! The Stephanie ornament is totally amazing!!!! So many wonderful and thoughtful gifts and goodies getting unwrapped is really getting me in a festive mood. I notice how especially excited Diesel was getting and I know his little fuzzy head is dancing with sugar plums. You are all like my family now. As a matter of fact, with Covid restrictions, I see you more than my own family. Hahahahaha You are all such treasures to me and are a see of calm happiness in an otherwise crazy world. I am from Melbourne and have been watching from the start, I have never made a comment, however I am constantly amazed at the time and effort you put into these vlogs, and the gracious acceptance of all the gifts, I always have a laugh, I love English humour and Stephany is a classic, I hope you get time for yourselves over the Christmas break, these vlogs seem to be very demanding, have a lovely Christmas and I will keep watching.
