I love my Aspen Evolution 2500 system in the Bonanza, and it was great to learn more about the history of the company, the product and the people from this video.

I love Christy. She is trying so hard to hint to these companies that she needs upgrades to the Warrior. I wish her luck. I mean Garmin did a whole panel for Schmiindy and Stevie. I think Christy's Warrior should be next..... Who Agrees?
Shilling HARRRRD
Excellent episode Dan and Christy. This was a great introduction into the world of Aspen Avionics. Thank you for a great interview. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friends 🇺🇸🛩️
An upgrade was planned a few years ago for my Piper Mojave (Navajo), with Aspen and "G" being the only considerations. I'm a professional pilot, wanting function over glitz and choose Aspen. Garmin products are amazing, but in my GA experience there is information overload on the display. Aspen gives me more than is needed, but exactly what was desired- this being the overriding decision maker. Being about 30% less expensive was bonus. With nearly 2 years of operation, I have no regrets! Having an older airplane, interfacing digital to analog can be a pain. Aspen has made every effort to play well with others, having contacts and DAC's to make everything integrate well. My system is the KFC-250 autopilot, GTN750, L3 esi-500 and Aspen 2000C3. It took some patience on behalf of the shop for everything to talk and they do. Love it! My only complaint to date is the heavier aircraft are "Class 3" and the Pro Max development for these airplanes is slow...and that's on the good days. The Pro Max offers some wonderful enhancements over the legacy systems; I really would like to upgrade!
Actually, Aspen Avionics was named after a search through the yellow pages for cool sounding names. It later adopted the aspen tree story on the hill top (which is true), but only as an afterthought.
Enjoying all these videos from Oshkosh. Another great interview!
Good stuff as always!!
Did I misunderstand? He said $4995 for the 1k max and I got excited. Just pulled up Sarasota and the 1k max is $10,000. That’s tough for something we don’t need. $5k, I’d part with for a slick upgrade.
I would love that GFC500 digital interface for the Pro Max
I’ve been flying the Aspens and the Pro Max in particular and they are great panels. The WCA (wind correction angle) diamond I teach that You ARE the diamond. Fly it to the course indicator. I do wish the units bezel didn’t get so hot however.
I like that... you are the diamond, fly to the course.
Love my Aspen E5 … PA32-260
The blue diamond is wind correction angle right? Showing your track. Like the magenta diamond on a G1000
Cost of instillation is more than the cost of the avionics. When the cost of labor is added to the avionic cost it's really hard to afford.
I need a pfd for my bristell. Does aspen engage in the slsa world?
AOA is vastly more accurate for aircraft performance than the airspeed indicator.
Hey @takingOff what model of sunglasses are you wearing in this video?
Luzon from FlyingEyes. They have magnetic snap on shades.
@@TakingOff thank you! I like the shape

4:15 oh how the turn tabled these last few years watching quad gi275 gtn750 Cessna 150s and g3x 53 bonanzas
Avionics in vernal are fairly reasonably priced all things considered imho. It’s the install cost that’s a killer. Just making my basic IFR six pack panel ifr GPS (non waas) is still $20k all in
Yeah it's almost the same cost as the unit to install it, sometimes way more.
Where are the dealers located?
I think you can buy direct or check out your local avionics shop-- they're probably certified dealers.
1st world “needs” lol. I have a six pack, 430W and analog S-Tec and I feel on top of the world lol
SD card to the dealer for an upgrade? Pretty antiquated. How about OTA updates like what Tesla has been doing for 10 years??
Hey Dan, what’s this I hear about you doing a breakdown video on the Wagner jet crash in Moscow, you really doing it?
Haven’t planned on it. Juan did a good one.
Need vs want seems to get confused with these podcasts.
Competition drives price down. Not in Aviation 😂😂
