- I grew up in a family of scientists which definitely influenced my thinking in terms of being like an atheist. My three brothers are insanely brilliant. The one I was closest to growing up was very involved in the sciences to the point where he's actually astrophysicist now, which is really cool. He challenged my thinking on things a lot.

Alhamdulillah... I gave my shahada at the beginning of Eid Al Adha.. After years of studying Islam and living in an Islamic area, but living a Buddhist lifestyle for 20yrs... This year I realised that I was living an Islamic life, without the prayer... I was questioning life and started to see random things that pointed out the answers to my questions.. The answers all had ONE thing which connected them... Allah
Within a few days, maybe a week, I walked into one of the local Masjids and asked for guidance... A few days later I was in the other Masjid giving my Shahada in front of the Imam and a few brothers (one was an old neighbour), I felt new, like a child.. Free of sin and no longer "out in the cold". I cried when I realised that I would now be able to visit Makkah and the Kabah.
I'm 48 and proud to be a Muslim... What happens next is the will of Allah.. May he guide me on this journey as I learn from those who were before me, so I can leave something for those yet to come. Inshalla ♥️

I see you speak a lot about being in the scientific sphere and you posted a verse about signs. The signs are mere observations and these observations are false. For instance.
Quranic cosmological errors - Actual verses followed by an abridged version to demonstrate ignorance not Divinity.
Chapter 41
9: Say: ´What, do you disbelieve in Him who
created the earth in two days, and do you set
up compeers to Him? That is the Lord of all
Being.
10: ´And He set therein firm mountains over it,
and He blessed it, and He ordained therein its
diverse sustenance in four days, equal to those who ask.´
11: Then He lifted Himself to heaven when it
was smoke, and said to it and to the earth,
Come willingly, or unwillingly!
They said, We come willingly.
12: So He determined them as seven heavens in two days, and revealed its commandment in every heaven.´
13: And We adorned the lower heaven with
lamps, and to reserve; that is the ordaining of
the All-mighty, the All-knowing. But if they
turn away, then say, ´I warn you of a
thunderbolt like to the thunderbolt of Ad and
Thamood.´
Chapter 41 - simplified.....
9 - Allah FIRST creates the Earth in 2 days.
(Science tells us the Earth formed 4 billion years ago 10 billion years after the universe was created)
10 - Allah places (literally throws) mountains onto Earth and sets up food and water over 4 days)
(notice it takes longer to set up sustenance than to create the Earth)
11 - Then he turns to Heavens (Universe) when it was a smoke (Nebula?) and calls the Earth to come together with the Nebula.
(If Nebula is when the universe was created (when the universe was a smoke) but in the second half of 41:11, Allah turns to the Smoke >AND< the fully formed earth (41:9-10), then it means the Earth was already operational when the universe was created. Is this right?)
12 - Allah creates the 7 Heavens as solid domes (67:3, 71:15) - basically the observable sky.
13 - Allah then creates the stars and places them within this observable sky which includes the atmosphere.
(Notice the earth is up and running with food, water and sustenance and THEN he creates the stars that we see in the night sky.
Conclusion - the author of the Quran assumes a fully functional Earth was created BEFORE the rest of the Universe, proving the Quran is from ignorant human minds - therefore the Quran is a fake, and Islam is false.
Now surely - as an articulate intellectual this butchering of scientific phenomenon should be troubling?

Alhumdullilah I used to be an atheist too and sadly did not believe in the glorious creator. But then I discovered Islam and realized that God exist and we must worship him may Allah bless you and all that accept Islam.

Last Ramadan I meet a young man in the mosque 🕌 who were also from an atheist family and he shared his convert story to me. Now it has been almost a year his being a Muslim. Mashaallah in every single day he is trying to be a better Muslim than yesterday.

and some of the things written in the Quran was already know before it was written about fresh and salt water mixing was know at the time but think it was some kind of miracle

Quran 41:11-12 "Then He turned to the heaven when it was all smoke. He said to the heaven and the earth: “Come ˹into being˺, willingly or unwillingly..." And We adorned the nearest heaven with stars for beauty and protection. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing."
Science says: "About 300,000 years after the big bang, the universe was like a smoke-filled chamber."

John14v6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you want to know if the Lord Jesus is God, here it is, plain like black on white.
John 14v9: Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
No man who ever lived or lives on this earth can say such a thing except Jesus alone because He is God.
Some will challenge this saying "Oh Jesus said: 18“Why do you call Me good?” “No one is good except God alone." (Mark 10v18).
Well in fact what the Lord Jesus is doing here, he is addressing to the Jews by just playing on words. He is telling them you call me good but you do not believe that I am God (remember they stoned him for saying He is the Son of God). Yet you call me good, however no one is good except God. So here he is clearly confronting the jews about their belief of who He is. He is God because only God is good.
And if you are not convinced yet, then read John 11v25.
John 11v25: Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. 26And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” Only God alone is life and can give life to someone. So Jesus is Lord and God.
No wonder Thomas said in John 20v28 “My Lord and my God!”
And our Lord Jesus did not rebuke him, instead Jesus said "Now you believe?” (I am paraphrasing)
Read it for yourself in John 20v27-29
27Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”
29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” …
So my friend STOP doubting. Just believe. He is our Saviour and Lord. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Praise be to his name. God bless you and may our Lord Jesus open the eyes of your mind.

Ibn Rajab said regarding Surah Al-‘Asr:
Allah swore an oath that every human is going to lose, except for the one who can be described by 4 attributes :
1) Imaan (Faith)
2) Good Deeds
3) Advising one another in truth
4) Advising one another in patience upon the truth
So this Surah contains the scale of the deeds by which believer evaluates himself, so it becomes clear to him his profit from his loss.

Very interesting story! As I listened to your story of how you kept collecting the pieces over time on different topics (the Muslims were right on this also), you made me remember a verse in the Quran (4:65) that fits with what you have just described.
"But no, by your Lord! They will not believe until they make you [O Prophet] a judge in their disputes, then find no resistance within their hearts to your verdict [decision] and submit wholeheartedly."

Beautiful in every way! It will help many others to think afresh about their life and restore their faith in God. Islam clearly stands out amongst religions for its simplicity and clarity of approach to the One God we all share. @@MuslimConvertGirl Unfortunately, many muslims are not even aware that they are practising cultural norms rationalised as "islam" eg wearing a hijab, which causes alienation in Western society, is not even stipulated in the Qur'an. Such customs became important part of muslim ID especially for minorities communities the West. Such practices are falsely attributed to the Prophet through the use of hadith literature which is nothing but hearsay narratives collected 200 years after the Prophet's death. I feel for western converts who experience prejudice and rejection from both sides. Ultimately, it's futile trying to please people. God does not wish to burden our lives with more than what is necessary - what is required is no more than universally recognised values of justice, kindness and common-sense decency. Qur'an was sent as a guidance for the whole of mankind but muslims have turned it into a detailed prescription!
