- I was so happy to get a new palette to re-home my lovely Roman Szmal paints!
Here, I put together the palette and make a colour chart to go inside.

i took your advise and put my rsz set in one of these tins, thanks for the tip. That is one pricey tin my dear. Most of the White Nights in my 34 tin seemed blotchy, inferior and low pigmented, So I exiled them to a ziplock. Roman Szmal is the smoothest paint- it swatches cleaner than any major brand on the right paper.💌
I haven't tried White Nights paints, but agree Roman Szmal's are beautiful! You could always glue the White Nights into an old pencil tin for a children's palette! (I have a 'visiting children' art box!!)

Once the corners were sorted out, it's the best fitting palette I have!
I also house my Roman Szmal paints in the White Nights palettes, such a genius idea to flatten out those edges to make them fit! Thanks for sharing this tip :)

Uuuh...I need this palette. I have first bought 24 Roman Szmal Pans...but "by accident" only a few month later I had some more and I don't like that I have to store them in two different palettes. That's gorgeous
I feel your pain! I think if I end up with a load more (though other than a baby mixing palette, I'm not planning any as yet - I need to use what I've got!) but if I do end up with more, I'll switch to a large pencil tin and glue down the pans.
Are there any colours you really like, out of yours, that I don't have here?
@@helencryer oh and I forgot Przybysz's Grey which is leaning more towards violet and great for shadows

Some of my favorite colors you already have, but there are a few more which I would like to recommend:
- Cherry quin. red is a pinkish red which is lightfast and gorgeous for flowers or i light washes for lips
- I like to use red ochre and transp. oxide red in my urban sketches esp. for bricks
- I love the combination of perylene green, which you already have and perylene green deep f.e. for eucalyptus , sage etc...
- quin. gold hue is a nice warm yellow
- perylene violet is a muted reddish purple which I likes while swatching my paints but I haven't used it in a painting yet
Anonther color I really like at the moment is Rosa Gallery's grape black...a little off topic...but...
I love your color choices for this palette 😍😍 it so satisfying to see a tin full of paint! I had the one that holds 14 full pans and the middle was too narrow but because I was determined to get more paint into it I took off one of the metal rows and stuck back with tape just so I can have space in the middle 😅😅
When we're determined to sort out art storage, nothing can stop us! 😂
The empty white nights pan is no longer available 😢. Hard to find one that will fit 35 full pans. Any other suggestions?

Hahaha!! I hope your husband can be persuaded that half pans make the perfect gift for a special occasion ❤. I’d certainly rather receive paint than flowers (most of the time) lol. I’m on a low-buy also, but trying to stick with gift cards I received for Christmas. However, I like your idea also 😊
I ordered some Roman Szmal paints before my low-buy started, but I haven’t opened them yet so I have something “new” to play with when that urge to buy hits. Nice to have something to look forward to (although I’m sort of scared that when I try them, I’ll want to order more colours).

Unfortunately, another paint set I've had my eye on for months, but which had been out of stock, suddenly came in stock and I ordered it, so I may have to persuade my husband that IT would make a lovely gift instead 😁

I like both of them to be honest - both very good. It's hard to give a direct comparison because I don't have the same colours from the two brands.
All I can think of with that Tupperware container is that episode of Eerie Indiana from the 90s where the housewives were sleeping inside giant Tupperware to reverse aging.🤣🤣

Yes, sorry, at the time I made the video they were on offer, but now it's switched to paper being on offer. Jackson's are still saying they are expecting more colours in, with the dates they're expected though? Have you heard something else about their future arrangements?
@@helencryer I haven’t heard anything, but I’d love to have my RS paints in one like this! Never enough room in the regular ones, though Sketches N Scrubs found a plastic one with a removable insert that holds a ton, so that might be an alternative…

Nothing worse than those cheap metal palettes you have to mess with! Flat open tins with the pans stuck down works great for me as I mix on porcelain
Sounds good, though I like my metal palettes too!
