I met him in 1977 in Spokane, WA at the 'World of Wheels' car show in the convention center built for 'Expo 74'. Waited in line to get his autograph as he sat next to a playboy bunny also signing. When I was finally in front of him, he accidentally spilled his coffee all over his lap and you should have heard the cussing! He jumped up and apologized to me and I said that I was used to it, having a bit of a dirty mouth at 16 years old myself. It gave me a little more time with him as he cleaned up as I asked him some stupid questions. I had loved him as a youngster listening to my American Graffiti albums practicing to be a Deejay since age 12. I went on to have a long career on-air at top stations around the U.S. for nearly 20 years, and meeting 'the Wolfman' is still a highlight of my life!

We all talk about our favorite performer, singer, band, and/or rock group that made rock and roll as to what it is today, but we are all forgetting those on the production side that promoted this business. There was not only the Wolf Man, but there was the forever Teen Ager Dick Clark, Alan Freed, and we cannot forget the help the Ed Sullivan gave to this business, and there are the many many more "unsung heroes" that also made contributions.

I got in trouble once in fourth grade in Texas in the the mid 70s for imitating the Wolfman during a mock radio broadcast we did at school. I gave a similar weather report to the one he gave in American Graffiti, where I first saw him when it came out. I had a good time, and I still smile or laugh sometimes when I think about it. He was a lot of fun. RIP, Wolfman, and thanks.

Howdy Friends! I had the GREAT honor of working with my all-time radio Hero Wolfman Jack, after I moved from Texas to North Carolina back in 1985. I knew what I wanted to be when I was 5 years old, and he's the reason why! I spent 45+ years in the business, and ended up working with my radio idol here in NC! He was The BEST in the game. "Cowboy Cody said so!"

Grew up in southern cal. Listened to the wolf man all the time . People calling in all the time , he’d ask the girls , Are your peaches sweet ? Also uncle George’s record shop which must have been the biggest front in LA. Selling everything from records to bug spray . Even picked him up camping in Yosemite. Those were the days !

No mention of his early day's in Downtown Chula Vista where he broadcast from in his early days. He had a little second story studio where he perfected his radio show. It was the young people of this era of rock and roll that gave him his start at being a successful radio jockey, or DJ. During his time in Chula Vista, I listened to him with his wolf man calls, and respect for everyone. Today, I listen to many radio stations with their Disk Jockeys, but only a few can compare themselves with Wolfman Jack's antics, and his style of broadcasting. He will be missed by many people who listened to him each night.
