      @@ericaxavier7630 Over emotional ppl, who are quick to call for ppl to lose their employment are the worst. It was a misunderstanding, that's all. They didn't throw blows in the middle of the street. Its not easy trying to back-up (or manuver) a huge bus in the middle of the city. You can't just easily replace a busdriver (LOTS of training and special license/ certifications needed) like the person working cashier at McDonalds.

    update: after this incident B35 buses were rerouted so they didnt have to pass eachother on the turn. Sunset Park bound buses were routed via 14th avenue and Old Utrecht Av while northbound Brownsville bound B35 buses stayed going up 13th Av

    I believe that there is some sort of MTA Bus Driving Rule that prevents them from backing up, unless there is some sort of spotter. It's the reason why both drivers didn't want to back up. Their GPS would show their bosses that they backed up and they would get written up for not following the rules. Yeah, I know it's silly, however some of these rules are for safety and ensuring there are no accidents or someone getting run over.

    Thinking the Shipping Container and double parked mini-vans along 39th ST are the bigger culprits hence saving both Drivers from Suspension, knowing it would be worse to reverse the bus with GPS Tracking. Some are hinting that is a Passover Container, if so don't expect anything to change until the owners are ready to move their own container and vans.

    MTA is always perfect, they never do things wrong. Now we know why buses come 3 or 4 at the same time after waiting 40 minutes or more. Buses get crowded "social distance".

      @@jonsmith848 My dad retired from CTA and I used to ride the bus with him when I was younger so I saw this incident from an operator’s point of view. It’s already hard enough to make a tight turn with a standard 40ft bus, so it’s extremely challenging making tight turn with an artic. I think the artic that was making the left turn should’ve somehow maneuvered their bus to the right when it was safe to do so making room for artic that was turning and it’s hard to back up with a bus.

      @@Martin199320 I drove took a bus driving road course in colleges. The job is really stressful and all the passenger on the bus is very distracting. it is so much easier backing out a truck comparing bus backing out. The truck front is movable unlike a bus

      What are you talking about, one bus is making a right hand turn, the other is making a left. They should have no conflict with each other, the problem is that people either park illegally or double park to make it harder for buses to turn.

    Those Streets in the 5 Boroughs are Smaller & the 60 Footers Are Harder to Back Up & Move Around, here in L.A. Metro has 60 Footers, I was on One Last Decade in the Valley on Ventura when the Operator had to Turn the Bus Around in the Middle of Ventura Blvd & it Took him 10 Minutes to Turn that 60 Footer Around I the Middle of the Wide Street.
    & Also, Metro has Issues with the 45 Foot Busses, on Turns Also here in L.A.

    This is an illustration of how steering wheel holders handle driving situations. This is also an illustration of the trainers/ training that some of these drivers get. MTA blames it on a shipping container that is always there and illegally parked cars that are always illegally parked there. Lol . Good job drivers

    MTA Bus drivers are some of the biggest Bullys on NYC streets...first time I seen two of them try to bully each other.

      For construction work every public space around the site is taken, so there isn't an alternative really. It's temporary and it's probably approved by the city board.
