Retiring is what makes you old, staying active and working keeps you sharp
@@EggYolkLopeThat’s a ridiculous statement & blatantly untrue. Working beyond a certain age puts you under physical strain & causes wear & tear on your body. It does not keep you sharp. "I've taken more people home than to jail" - now that's a cop to respect.
Unless the area sucks in which you must take people to jail
Unfortunately politicians and law makers have taken that decision away from police officers. Very few know police are given very very little decision now on how to handle something it’s if you have this you will do this... or be fired and replaced unless it goes bad then you will be blamed and what you wanted to do at first will be said to have should have been done
I was looking for this comment. Policing for profit should be illegal. Obviously sometimes they can't just take people home but probably most times they could. Much respect! One of the few good cops left. I was really surprised to hear that!
@@tyleral5280 that's not really how it works. In most cases Police are called by victims, businesses etc... If they want to press charges for someone stealing a candy bar a police officer cannot tell them no. I have pulled money out of my own pocket to pay for little things that people steal as a necessity and businesses (ESPECIALLY WALMART) will still make you completely charge them if it's over $10.... These petty laws, petty businesses, petty people, petty police etc need to change. It costs nothing to have empathy.
Most cops do lol
“I’ve taken more people home than I’ve arrested” See, that’s REAL community policing!
Because they dispatch him to juvenile calls. If they dispatch him to any serious call that requires physical force to detain some one he will probably be killed.

That’s actually a pretty common thing for cops in a city environment. If taking them to another place is what they need, jail isn’t always the only choice. This cop just has the benefit of getting primarily goodwill calls, instead of normal police calls.

Now a days, a historic lack of privilege among an identity group affords privilege to those currently in that group, and a historic perception of privilege among an identity group makes it acceptable to mistreat today's group members. All apart of the rich and powerful's plan to sow seeds of division, and keep that oppressed / opressor pendulum swinging, so that everyone else is too busy fighting pointless battles among themselves, instead of forming action groups to tackle mutual problems.
Mr. Anonymous that argument falls apart when you realize the “privilege” afforded isn’t even a fraction to the problems caused by the system. No one is saying it’s ok to mistreat the “privileged” class, i was simply pointing out the man’s level of humility compared to his peers. If you want to argue about how corrupt capitalist elites are that’s one thing I can agree on, but to go as far as to say blacks are the real privileged class in this country is mind numbingly dense.
