  • Crash shorts, or impact shorts, whatever you want to call them, is an essential piece of gear I won’t ever snowboard without after owning a pair. And while I mainly purchased these impact pants for snowboarding, I’ve used them in bike parks as well, just for the extra piece of mind and confidence booster incase I go down. Tail bone injuries are the number one most common injuries in Snowboarding, and beginners are especially prone to this strictly because they’re more likely to catch an edge and go down. Having crash pants on relieves or completely eliminates the sting of falling on your butt and is going to leave you virtually pain free on your dairy air when you go down. Aka letting you get back up and keep shredding harder! Without the fear of getting your cheeks clapped!
    I have been extremely happy with these G-Form impact shorts. They are comfortable in the winter and summer. After awhile I forget I’m wearing them, except for when I go down, and I’m glad they’re there when I do! They’ve held up really well the past year and I’ve been super impressed. I can 100% feel the difference and love having these shorts to back me up. Especially when riding park or trying something new! I can’t recommend these enough!

    Great video! I have a pair from another brand and they are pretty big compared to these. I'll be looking out for these when they come back in stock.
    I have the g-form knee pads and I would definitely recommend them. I've slammed a number of times on my knees and those have really saved me!

    Do these protect your tailbone? Good for skateboarding?

    • @BoardsBikesAndHikes
      @BoardsBikesAndHikes  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes these definitely do! I use them for snowboarding and MTB! However if I were using them for skateboarding, Burton makes their own brand and there’s has additional padding in the tailbone that might be better for you where it is concrete you’d potentially fall on. These would work great but I think those would work better

    sweet video! I recently got the burton impact shorts for snowboarding but the womens version not the mens as the mens were all sold out. They look almost identical to the mens version and fit well too. Do you know if theres any difference?

    • @BoardsBikesAndHikes
      @BoardsBikesAndHikes  Před 3 lety +3

      Nice!! I actually never thought about that. I had a similar issue last year and that’s actually one of the reasons I got these. But that’s good thinking! The men’s and women’s are the exact same. I’d actually eventually like to pick up a burton pair just to see how they are compared to these. They look very similar but the tail bone pad in the back is larger and they have 2 additional pads on the lower butt cheek area that these g form ones don’t have. I actually wanted the burton pair but 1.) they were out of stock and 2.) they cost about double what these do but they should offer a little more protection

    is this almost the same as burton g form for snowboarding?

    • @BoardsBikesAndHikes
      @BoardsBikesAndHikes  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! It’s almost identical. The burton G form has a little bit more padding in the butt that just covers a slightly larger surface area. I got these to use for snowboarding just to try because they were half the cost of the burton ones and have loved them. Honestly the only time I’ve felt like I needed a little more padding is falling on a rail. The typical catching an edge and slamming on the butt though, these have always saved my backside. I definitely recommend them

    Hi, I have those that look like a butt shield with thick pads velcro strap on hip and legs. super bulky. great protection. I look like a marshmallow. I wanted to get something sleeker for maybe practicing skateboarding. Currently I do only snowboarding.
    Was looking at this or:
    Burton Womens-- since men's are hard to find. $ unknown Im 155lbs 5,6 inches tall.
    Bodyprox--- budget look thick / probably bulky 35-40$
    Triple eight --look expensive for similar to bodyprox. 80$
    Azzpads.-- 65$ worried they may move around and not be on tailbone at time of fall. same strap on mentality. ( like a strap on that the lesbians use..lol )no hip protection. 😂😂
    What do you recommend?

    • @BoardsBikesAndHikes
      @BoardsBikesAndHikes  Před rokem +1

      😂😂🤣🤣🤣 that last bit killed me.
      These are super thin and honestly it doesn’t look like you have anything on. My buddies snowboard and have some of the bulkier ones and they hate them because they feel restricted and these don’t do that at all. I wear them snowboarding and if I go to mountain bike parks in the summer.
      I’m a big fan of these, I’ve had them for several years now and they’ve held up fantastic and still work like they’re supposed to. I honestly can’t recommend them enough. Out of the other ones you listed I’d like to try the burton ones because they’re the same as this but with a bit more padding on the butt. But the drawback is that they do have a much higher price tag and honestly I’ve never felt the “sting” of a snowboard fall in these
