Thanks for the update!! Now to wait and see what Mevo’s releasing 3/19 before purchasing my next camera 😁
Good week for live streaming!
Good advice.
What did you end up buying after the companies dropping their new updates?
This is amazing. I was looking for that centerfield to home shot and now I fell like I have an answer. Your channel has been huge in giving me all the info I need to create a great stream for my son's baseball teams!
Glad to know its helpful!
This is a very good cost effective option for those who want to use an optical zoom camera with Mevo Multicam. Nicely done!
It really is, thanks!
This is rad. Will probably grab one to play around with now. Would love to grab the 46, but my friend has one and he had major issues with it.
I havent seen the 46 yet either. But This has opened up a world of possibilities for the 33!
@@JasonHoffmanYT Yeah, stoked that the 33 has NDI now - put my order in for one this morning!
Fantastic news! Thank you for the update sir!
Gotta give em credit. They promised to have it ready in Q1 of 2024 and they pulled it off!
NDI is such a benefit for a streamlined workflow
It has changed the way I set up everything from studio to ballpark.
Focus is not a thing when viewing a cropped image, only when changing optical properties. Digital zoom aka cropping is not doing that.
Thanks Jason!
Glad to get to.
This is great news Jason. Now, Do recommend this NearStream vm33 over the just released Mevo Core?
Apples and oranges. They will do some of the same things, and I’ll compare their image quality in a sports stream but overall they are very different.
@@JasonHoffmanYTHello, Jason. I would like to ask a more specific question regarding this idea. For the sole purpose of capturing the angle from centerfield, is the vm33 paired with a repeating router the most optimal solution available? I will only be streaming softball.
@@hunterphillips4803 I don’t know it it is the most optimal solution available but it’s the one I have had success with. How far is your cf mounting location from where you would set up your router?
@@JasonHoffmanYT I would guess 230ish . I currently setup in the pressbox behind home plate.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I should specify that I already have one slate router. I would be looking to add another slate with the vm33.
Does each camera output NDI or only the app?
Hello Jason. Thank you so much for your content! What does one need to use the Mevo Multicam app with NDI sources? Does one need a Mevo Pro subscription? Edit: I saw on the Mevo site that this is indeed so.
Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks
A lot of folks have been watching to see if it really happened i think.
The NDI in rhe Nearstream camera is free?
I have to pay to unlock these pan and tilt features in the Mevo app? I just downloaded it and it keeps prompting me to sign up and start free trial or to purchase and monthly or yearly plan. Is there any way around this? Am I doing something wrong? What if I just want to pan and tilt within the nearstream app itself with NDI, can this be done ? thank you
Leo the ability to grab an NDI source is behind the subscription wall. BTW great work on the GoStream Deck reviews!
@@JasonHoffmanYT hey Jason thanks for the reply. Ok so that means I need to pay for this feature. So there is no way to tilt and pan within the nearstream app?
Thanks very much on your feedback on my Osee GoStream Deck review video. Lots of info to cover and explain. Very powerful device. Much appreciated. Thanks for the support.
No way to crop and pan with the nearstream app as it stands now.
@@JasonHoffmanYTgot yea
Thanks man.
Would the Nearstream be a good option for setting up behind homeplate. I am currently running a GoPro Hero 9 because that is what I had when I started last year. I'm just annoyed with it because I can't zoom in when we are on backstops that are further away.
Or do I just go with Emeet Streamcam. I'm confused on what to do.
There are positives for both. VM33 with NDI lets you connect it to a lot of streaming choices. Its optical zoom is nice too. The Emeet has a wider field of view for behind home plate. Amazon has a great return policy.
Thanks for the udpate Jason! What is that message when adding an NDI camera? is that a bug?
It’s an issue with my Pro subscription
@@JasonHoffmanYT I get it too when adding my ndi camera, it's nothing that will stop the stream right just an annoyance?
Just an annoyance.
How do you know when you're at 10x zoom on mevo multicam app? I don't see the zoom level indicator.
Unfortunately it’s a guess in Multicam software. It doesn’t know if the NDI source is 10x, 20x or 30x. But it will give pan and tilt when it starts to crop (past its optical zoom level).
I have had nothing but issues with this camera since day one, will not connect with the mevo multicam app for the life of me.... smh
Hate to hear it. I’ve enjoyed mine and their customer service has been very helpful.
so if I understand correctly the Zowiebox converts a non ndi camera so you can ethernet into your network..what if now since near stream does have ndi how do I convert the hdmi out of my acsoon receiver into ethernet so I can plug into my slate router behind home plate?
I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish and it would be HDMI out of your receiver thru the ZowieBox and into your slate. There may be some fps adjustments to make in the acsoon for the ZB to read it but should work.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I am getting two ndi inputs one the zowiebox with the video working from vm46 and another ndi which is the vm46.. can I disconnect the vm46 from the network and just use the Zowiebox feed of the vm46 on my stream?
@@bassboatconcepts3866 yeah, just pull your vm46 from the ZB. The vm46 should show up as a wireless NDI device if it is toggled on.
@@JasonHoffmanYT but if no Zowiebox how can I convert the hdmi out of acsoon reciever to Ethernet to get it on my network.. vm46 being used as center field camera.. I’m trying to not have to go slate to slate.. I think the acsoon units do a better job obviously that’s what they are meant to do.. as you know
I dont know of another way to get HDMI converted to NDI. You can run a streamer/encoder like the YoloBox or Magewell and get HDMI directly in but that’s added expense.
can you record to the sd card when you are using NDI out?
If you start the recording in the NearStream app, yes. Then put it in NDI mode and it will keep recording.
Thank you! What if you have more than one ? Can you control them all from the Nearstream app?
@@danielstiefel5677 It is a Multicam app so you can control more than one. But you won't have control in the NearStream software while NDI is active.
Where would you use this cam? Why would I need it if I have 3 mevo's.
I mean in a field of play, where would you use this?
For smaller fields, softball maybe, definitely younger teams, it would make a good center field camera. I’ll use it across the diamond so if i set up on 3rd base dugout side it will catch pitcher and 1st base.
Any issues recording to the sd card?
Not something I do. I can test it tho…
