00:00 Introduction
06:01 Alchemy
12:53 Fusion
22:40 Big Bang Nucleosynthesis
36:19 The Cosmological Lithium Problem
There is something with your voice, it’s weirdly soothing and comforting. Whereas other “similar“ youtube videos, with their narration sometimes it’s really hard to watch. I play one of yours, i can work at the same time, i get relaxed, i get informed. What else do i need in this temporary life thingy.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but you've surpassed Kurzgesagt as the channel I get _most_ excited about when I see a new release in my notifications. Your work is absolutely peerless, always exceptional and more than any of us deserve to be watching for free on CZcams! Thanks once again!
That's because they have a political agenda. And this gentleman just wants to teach us the history of the universe. I used to really like Kurzgesagt, but what they push as fact is really just an opinion. And pushing it as fact has an underlying agenda.
@@nicholascorbett1256 I lost interest in Kurzgesagt and maybe that's why..
@@nicholascorbett1256 I was about to say the same thing. They were good until they shifted from pure science content to social studies bs
@@nicholascorbett1256 agreed
@@nicholascorbett1256 Truth!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the narrative quality of these channels (this one and the History of the Earth) is what sets them apart from the usual science documentary, and what makes them so enthralling. It's the literary devices put into play - and of course, our admiration for nature - that keep us riveted to our seats, following the narrative closely. Please keep it up!
He has another channel called voices of the past! That’s a cool one too
This is so true. A pleasant surprise for sure.
You are experiencing odic symmetry, via cadence and harmonic vibration, whose frequency is pleasing to our senses.
@@joshuamirabal3617 I have just looked this channel up (Voices from the past) and instantly subscribed. Thanks for the info!
The narrators voice is so easily to listen to, and the writing is perfect!! Love the science behind, and how well these episodes are put together! Thank you.
i wonder if it is a bot or a person
@@tono9389 definitely obama
@@tono9389I wonder if the video has a description.
Without a doubt, both your channels are the best on CZcams. I hope your being asked to produce content for all the subscription platforms too.
Thank you for all your hard work!
I'm 37 days off crack and herrowin and your videos really help silence my noisy head..
You got this, dude!
GOOD FOR YOU! KEEP GOING CLEAN... IT MATTERS
Thank youuu 🙃
@@jakeholley4935 WELCOME... I'M 40 YEARS CLEAN... YEA, I'M OLD... WHEN I POOT... DUST COMES OUT.... GOD BLESS YOUR EFFORTS
Herrowin?
I was just going through your videos yesterday and realised I've watched all of them and was hoping for something new to come through. And here it was! Absolutely enjoyed it, thanks for such content.
Watch it again and again, you always hear new things, draw new conclusions - doesn’t get boring either!
I've been having dreams about this before I seen it crazy
I wish more people put their efforts and thought into questions like these. Everyone I try to talk to about things like this just don't seem to care. Please don't stop making these videos. They truly are top tier.
I feel this. So hard.
You can talk about this stuff right here! What would you like to say? Do you have any thoughts or questions? I probably won't know the answers, but someone here might. I sure love thinking about this stuff. To me, these great videos should start the conversation, not represent the finality and totality of it. There's a lot we don't know, and ordinary people have come up with extraordinary ideas before! 🙂
Sadly I find a very, very small minority of people have any interest in life’s most bizarre and difficult questions. The question of why we exist is maddening and we likely will never have answers as mortals
We can meditate and feel but we cannot understand
@@jaber4life Oh I think we're pretty good at understanding. I think we don't, and maybe can't, understand why we exist (does there have to be a why?) or the full nature of our existence, but we know we exist from first principles. (I think, therefore I am.) We spread out from there to see how well our observations and experiences match our thoughts and predictions. We assume the human forms around us also thing, and we act on that assumption. They offer useful ideas, and some useless ones. We build on each other's understandings. Before you know it we've finished the Human Genome Project, built the Internet, and put a pocket computer (phone) in every kid's pocket... in wealthier countries anyway.
Science is never founded on complete understanding. "Why" isn't necessary. "That it works" suffices. Science is founded on our best understandings and imperfect conclusions, but it gives us something to work with, and we've done incredible things by that process. When we find we've got something wrong, science is self-correcting. That cannot be said of any other knowledge system.
I think needing a reason for something as fundamental as existence is a human idea, maybe even a product of our language. Just because we can ask the question doesn't make it a meaningful question to ask. We exist. Why should the universe or anyone in it have to explain the obvious, THAT I exist?
Why does the universe exist? Because it exists. In the beginning, at the instant of the big bang, there was no time or space before for the universe to exist in. Existence seems inevitable, as long as there's time and space to accommodate it. I'm not sure asking why is a valid question. How did it propagate? yeah, that I want to know, but why it's here?
Cause and effect is fine, but asking why seems to go beyond cause and effect and into justification. That is certainly an entirely human concept, not something observed in nature, and not something we can impose on existence simply because we have a word for it. Those are my thoughts.
The internet can bring people together that have similar interests and beliefs (for better or worse!)
I've had some great conversations with like minded people on the internet.
Yes, it's a shame that there are so many uninterested and uninspiring idiots.. but we have to be grateful that there are also so many good people out there.
Hands down, some of the best work I've ever seen. The value here cannot be overstated. What an incredible place to come to simultaneously learn about our universe and give in to the trance this video creates when watching it.
This is literally discovery quality. As in the old discovery channel when they still did documentaries. I missed those documentaries so much for years. Until I found this channel. I love being able to watch this stuff again. And updated for modern understanding of physics no less.
I must agree. This is my Favorite Channel, an I am Thankful that I have found it.
The universe observing it's self from two different angles.
As worms eat our bodies in the ground after we die some worms say we are human stuff another chimes in no we are anthropomorphic waste
“The stars must die to see the universe”
My father passed last week and this line really struck me…
Aw. I'm sorry for your loss 😢.
I hope you still enjoyed the video
So sorry you lost your father. I lost my Mother in 2007 and my Dad in 2014, it's sad, they are so important in ones life that when they pass, it really rocks your world (I'm 65, so not exactly a helpless orphan here). It does get better...or maybe it's better to say "less bad", over time. Hang in there!
We die physically in order for new life to thrive. We also live in in the memory of others...as your father has lived on to touch our lives through yourself.
Love brother
I'm sorry. I just lost my father and my life been so chaotic, so the title spoke to me. My 10 year son (he's 13 now) told my father when you lose someone close you gain an angel.
History of the Universe is the absolute best docuseries on CZcams. Thought provoking content backed by understandable science. Bravo! I've watched almost every one of your productions. Keep up the amazing work! 👍
I like that you take your time. If you make something worthy… people will watch. You don’t even do your intro until 5 minutes in. Love it.
There are three things that continuously impress me as I watch these episodes: 1) the excellent writing, presentation, and production of every moment of these videos. Outstanding in every respect. 2) the ridiculous amount of information we have been able to glean from the CMB. 3) how annoyed I am that the first and oldest stars in the universe are “Population 3” and the youngest, most current ones are “Population 1”.
I'm with you on the backward numbering of the star populations. Weren't population 1 stars also called main sequence stars? It seems there was another system of naming the different generations - somewhere in my dusty memory.
Amazing work as usual. You've really honed in on your craft. Your formula for making these videos is absolutely fantastic. I get excited each time I see a new video published. You're quickly building an incredible body of work. Keep it up!
What amazes you ?
@@isubtothebest6020Quality editing of excellent video choices, good script writing... clearly a lot of work and effort sent into these videos.
Simply some of the best content anywhere. Love the pace of the narration. It gives space for contemplation. Always amazing visuals and great writing. Love it every time.
History of Universe Channel is answering one by one the question, that has been in my head for couple of years. For example 1.)What was there before Bigbang? 2.)How All the metals & Non Metals were created?
3.)Nuclear Fusion
4.)Where are all other dimensions?,etc..
Thank you HOU for the works you do for us
Please put spaces after commas and periods. It looks better.
@@tonytaskforce3465 okkh sir.
1) there was no "before" the big bang; space and time came into being thereafter
2) all of the elements (with the exceptions of Hydrogen, Helium and whichever elements on the periodic table were created in particle accelerators by smashing atomic nuclei together) were formed in the cores of stars during a process called stellar nucleosynthesis. The elements are then blasted across the universe when the stars in question go supernova
3) What about nuclear fusion?
4) what do you mean?
GREAT!!! Looking forward to listen to this in peace. I usually listen to the series, when I go to sleep after a Night Shift. Means, I listen to it about 10 times, until I’m through, and then at one point, I probably watch it during ironing. Don’t know, but I listened to the Entire History of the Earth and Entire History of the Universe so often, I can repeat parts of it. It actually helps, to get a grasp, like listening to music more often, I guess. The voice is soothing, without being boring - Thanks! - and the historical background, the stories sprinkled in, to give your brain some rest, information well explained for everybody with basic knowledge of science. Brain exploding infinite sizes, great or small, times, ideas and theories. LOVE IT!
This series is probably the best series ever made on Cosmology. No words can do full justice to the quality of the content and production. Than you
Another superb vid! I especially like how at the end you humbly acknowledge that what we have yet to discover dwarfs what we think we know. That's exactly the attitude that allows science to move forward as a field.
These are some of the finest science documentaries in existence, I have yet to watch one and not learn something I had not known or understood. The video have just the right mix of entertainment and knowledge.
I can't express enough how grateful I am for your channel. Your videos have helped me understand complex scientific concepts in an easily digestible way
I love your videos. The main difference between yours and others is that you don't just TELL me something, you make me THINK. This is priceless. You give me the science to build on. While my thoughts and ideas aren't going to influence any research or exploration, I can go off on tangents of "what if" or "maybe" regarding some of these elemental questions. Of course not being a cosmotologist or a mathematician I lack the ability to follow up on my questions it still gives me immense satisfaction that I am basing my thoughts on your fantastic explanations.
I look forward to just hearing you talk/lecture. My wife says I'm a bit strange, but it's because I associate that with knowledge.
Been Watching/Teaching/Learning about Science my entire life. Your Animations & Explanations are second to none!
Incredible, amazing content. I studied chemistry and physics in high school and I never knew their relationship was so fundamental. You beautifully express millenia of scientific advancement in just 45 minutes. FUND THIS CHANNEL!
I know it's a selfish sentiment but I'm going to feel a void larger than Bootis when you guys finish making content. You folks have touched my soul with what you have put together.
Every aspect of your content from research, production value and narration have made you my favourite source of educational content, on ANY playform. You help me sleep at night and make my walks to work a blissful journey of meditation and contemplation. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of your efforts. You deserve so much recognition and appreciation for what you have developed. Thank you again and again.
Well said. Very articulate.

19:23 Nice! Well done, Nerds!! 👍
Great narrative, compelling content and immaculate production, as always.
Brilliant, the writing and editing the pov goes from earth right into the chaos You have Carl Sagan's knack of making these topics appeal to a broader audience and get them excited about real science.
This is why I'll always be fascinated with physics and in particular cosmology and quantum physics. It's impossible to read or learn about it without asking those mind-boggling, sort of terrifying but also fundamentally compelling existential questions that we don't seem to have an answer to... yet, at least. And another thing: just when I think there aren't any more gems to be found on this website, youtube goes ahead and makes another channel pop up in my recommended list. Been binge-watching like five of your uploads during the afternoon while cleaning my apartment and tending to my plants, only came here to comment because my wireless headphones need recharching, lol. Keep up the amazing work, the world needs this kind of content.
I just finished watching all of your videos. I've been an avid YT user for these past fifteen years and have never had an urge to rewatch a channel's entire catalogue of videos.. Until now.
Please don’t stop making these gems.
Brilliant again. Love this channel. It provides much more detail about cosmos than many other documentaries yet keeps the theory and technicalities at a level where people like me (without college degree level exposure to physics, maths and cosmology) can understand and enjoy.
