Moon Grains it just honestly depends. School packs can include cheap ones but students may buy expensive ones. The ones shown in the video are probably more expensive and fancy so I can see where you're coming from:)

there's an essay called "I, Pencil" by Leonard E. Read that uses the pencil to explain just how complex manufacturing processes and supply chains are.

Fascinating. Are all pencils two pieces of wood glued together?
I guess it's hard to tell, since it's the same block of wood, just cut and re-glued.

this is a question i thought before in the past but never really searched it up for the answers.
but today a guy named riomations sended to his community this video on the youtube community post system, i watched a few of his videos in the past and after he randomly sended me this i finally know how pencils are made.

Today on How They Do It : Plumbuses. Everyone has a plumbus in their home. First they take the dingle bop and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then...repurposed for later batches. They take the dingle bop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It's important that the fleeb is rubbed, becasue the fleeb has all the fleeb juice. Then, a schlami shows up, and he rubs it...and spits on it. They cut the fleeb. There's several hizzards in the way. The blamfs rub against the chumbles, and the...plubis, and grumbo are shaved away. That leaves you with...a regular old plumbus.

My 8 year old son asked me about how a pencil is made. I explained him the concept, but could still visualize a question mark on his face.
I showed him this video and could see all his doubts vanishing.

They're professional grade pencils. Most artists use them because they have a high variety of shades, and I use them for pencil drawings and I have to say they're perfect.

Got me wondering what is better for the environment, wooden pencil or clutch pen or lead holder? There's no waste with those when you need to sharpen. No wood wasted and the graphite can be collected and used. They are made of metal though so don't know if it's any better in the end. Just a thought.

Here's me thinking they precisely drill a hole right in the middle of rod of wood and then carefully tap in the lead graphite!
That’s what I thought only a machine can make that perfect sharpened end
