Holster options for the CZ P10F - Thank you @Practical Shooter for this

  • As most people know, whenever a new handgun is released, it’s usually a bit of a waiting game for a holster. Practical Shooter on CZcams made an excellent video on modifying a Glock holster (which are readily available) and I mentioned I would check if my X5 holster would fit the P10F as well. Which is does, as does the holster for the P-09. Thanks again @Practical Shooter for the inspiration to do this video and for your excellent video content! @Marc Willar. You’re welcome and welcome to CZ! CZ pistols are addictive, you won’t be able to stop with just one. I have 4, purchased in the span of just over a year. You won’t want to shoot anything else. Anyways, I am findig the fit of the Shadow 2 holsters very good, especially if you can find the adjustable ones. It usually takes some time before the companies start producing holsters.

    Thanks for the advice CZ FanGirl. I just bought the CZ P10F Optic Ready and ran across your video on holsters. Just got my Registration Certificate, and tax return so I'm set to buy ammo. Going to shoot it stock before I decide to do mods for slide release, and flat trigger, like the CZ P10F Competition Ready OR. My local gun store has lots of aftermarket parts. I have to hook up with my local IPSC group to get my Black Badge course. Wish the OIC ban would turn out with sunny ways. was wanting to get into 3-gun, but will for now go the pistol competition route. Pew, pew!

    • @CZFanGrrl
      @CZFanGrrl  Před 2 lety

      @Tim Olheiser Glad that information worked out for you! I haven’t checked lately about holsters specific to the P10F, it’s been awhile. When I first bought mine, there were no holsters for it because apparently the Glock holsters were supposed to fit, I heard from many people that it didn’t fit them all, so it was a bit of a roll the dice at the time. I stocked up on ammo components for reloading well before the 2020 election and didn’t shoot but once over this winter so I thankfully have enough components to reload for next season and I’m all stocked up in loaded ammo for 2022. Crazy times. This is a cycle anytime there is an American election and we just roll with it. You should be able to shoot local club matches without the Black Badge course to begin with, that’s the case here in BC. We have two sections and I can shoot in any IPSC matches within my section without the Black Badge. It’s so good to have though because of the pounding home of safe gun handling skills. Ugh, don’t get me started on the OIC ban, as responsible firearms owners (people that have gone through the training, the licensing and registration), we know that we are not the problem, but we’re easy targets. I wanted to start shooting 3Gun back in 2019 as well and then the OIC derailed those plans and then Covid derailed it further. I find the hypocrisy of our current politics astounding. They are more than happy to send firearms to a foreign country to arm civilians but yet they want to disarm their own civilians. Sorry about the rant. I generally keep politics out of my channel, but I’m so impressed with the Ukrainian government right now arming their civilians to the teeth. Enjoy that P10F Optic Ready, that’s the one I wanted to get, but the focus was on supplying the US at the time; Canada got the OR Shadow 2 instead, which is my first firearm of choice for competing because it’s a tank and I really love heavy steel guns. You will likely turn your thoughts toward reloading when you start shooting IPSC. Firstly to tune your ammo to the firearm and secondly cost.

      @fumasterchu12. Yes it is, I was surprised about the X5 as well. I’m like you, I don’t like purposeless things, may as well give it away or sell. No Practical Shooter’s channel he does a demo on how to modify a Kodex holster to fit the P10F, which is where I got the inspiration. You have a great week too my friend. I hope you’re on the mend!

      @CZFanGrrl  Před 3 lety +1

      @Michael Charron. Thank YOU for the feedback, I always appreciate hearing from people watching the channel. And congrats on your purchase! The P10F is a great striker fired pistol and when I bought it, it did not have any holsters made specifically for it. I’m sure there might be some available now, but I’m not 100% sure. Apparently the bigger Glock holsters fit it, but not sure. My P10F has been converted into a PCC, there should be a video of it here on the channel somewhere, so it no longer goes in a holster because it’s now a carbine and very cool at that. I can dump mag loads of ammo through it in a heart beat, it’s so much fun to shoot, but again, I have to be mindful of the amount of ammo I put through it because it’s easy to blow through 200 rounds in the blink of an eye. Anyways, as to holsters, I like the fit of the Shadow 2 holster butter than the fit of the P09 holster. The Shadow 2 is a bit burlier, like the P10F. I hope you’re able to source a holster. I myself prefer holsters that have some adjustment to them, where you can either snug up the fit with the turn of a knob to make the gun more secure or looser to make it easier to draw. That’s just my two cents. Thanks again and happy shooting!!

    • @CZFanGrrl
      @CZFanGrrl  Před 3 lety +1

      @Adrian. A police officer? Not even a security guard. Just a typical Canadian that enjoys owning firearms and competing with them. The holsters are necessary for competition. It’s the safest way to carry/store the gun during competitions.
      In order to obtain a handgun, which is considered restricted in Canada, meaning not everyone is qualified to own one, which in my opinion, is a good thing because it means that anyone legally in possession of a handgun has had to prove that they are responsible enough to own one.
      1st step is taking a regulated and approved Firearm Safety course, comprising of two separate components towards obtaining a license. First is the Possession and Acquistion License (PAL) a full day course, which upon completion allows you to purchase and own a non-restricted firearm, like a hunting rifle. The next step is taking another course (about 4 hours)obtaining the Restricted Possession and Aquistion License (RPAL). Once you’ve completed those two courses, you take your paperwork from the course, showing that you’ve successfully completed the mandatory training and achieved a pass grade and apply for a license. It usually takes about 45 days to obtain a license. During this time, the office of the Chief FIrearms Office, runs back ground checks to make sure you don’t have a criminal history that would preclude you from possessing a firearm, with the police and with your references, your spouse and/or exspouse if you are recently separated or divorced. If there are any red flags during this back ground check you will likely be denied a license. If you’re a law abiding citizen then this is a very easy and straightforward process. You also need to have a permanent residence where the guns will be stored. If you are homeless, you won’t get a gun. If you live in an RV or out of your car or have no fixed address, you will not be able to own a handgun. If you have a history of mental illness you will not be able to own a gun. All very good and sensible rules.
      #2. When you receive you license, you can now purchase a firearm. Most Canadians buy their handguns online because it’s easier. The guns are delivered to their mailbox or to their front door and the delivery needs to be signed for, by an adult. Otherwise, if you go to a store to buy a gun in person, you need to get a short term authorization to transport the firearm from the store to your home. There is however about a 30 day cooling off period before you can purchase your first firearm in case you are planning on using it because you have poor impulse control. After that, the quickest transfer I’ve experienced (from the store being the owner of the firearm to me being the owner) was less than an hour. I purchased the firearm online, the store initiated the transfer within 20 minutes and 25 minutes after that the Chief Firearms Officer issued the transfer notification saying that I was now the owner of the firearm. 7 days later the firearm was delivered from all the way on the other side of Canada to my front door. Most transactions take about 13 days on average, only because of how far the distances are in Canada.
      I hope that answers your question about how hard it is to obtain a handgun. So, there is a process everyone needs to follow and that initial process does take some time and a little effort on the part of the person wanting to obtain the firearm, but once you’ve gone through that, the process is very simple. Canadian firearms owners are also the most highly vetted people in Canada, probably even more so that the Prime Minister (unless he owns a handgun that we don’t know about), our name is run through the Canadian Criminal Database each and every day. If a Canadian firearm owner’s name shows up on that Criminal Database, the RCMP (police) will be knocking on that persons door to confiscate their guns, either temporarily or permanently depending on the outcome of the criminal case.

      @CZFanGrrl  Před 3 lety +1

      @Adrian I deleted that last post of yours with the “thanks f**ker”. Pretty sure you weren’t intending that for me. Anyways, in Canada, the guns laws are universal, meaning right from Newfoundland to BC, they’re same for everyone and so there’s no confusion about laws apply to what province, as is the case in the USA, where laws vary from state to state and people get busted for honest mistakes I’m sure. Canadian gun laws are actually less restrictive than California, or so some of my West Coast subscribers have told me. We can and certainly do own handguns. One of my friends owns over 30 handguns, probably more by now. If you own more than 10 you’re scrutinized a bit more closely. I own 4 and I can probably do with just two or three in reality. The handguns need to be properly stored when not in use as well. You can’t leave them laying around the house unsecured. We definitely don’t have the unfortunate accidental killings of children or adults by children getting their hands on a loaded and unsecured handgun. Everytime we do, the noose of the law tightens up more and more around firearm owners, because it’s the lack of adult responsibility. I can’t remember if a child was every involved in a shooting death of another with a handgun though. Usually it’s been unsecured long rifles or in the very first incident, with a shot gun. I forget how many legally owned handguns there in Canada, but there are over 2 million licensed owners and most people have at least one or two handguns each. Not bad for a country of 37 mil.

      @whatsup24_7 LOL! Switzerland is very much like BC. Lots of mountains. Lots of firearms. The government there seems to appreciate armed citizenry. Probably more snow in BC. I was a registered nurse in a previous life and really wanted to move to Texas or Florida or Wyoming or Montana back in the early 90’s when first started nursing. I had job offers from those states. Where abouts are you located?
