  • UPDATE: Motor Protect Liqui Moly, 500 ml, didn't make any difference.
My E60 N52 530xi burns oil like crazy.
    I don't know why yet.

The i-Drive oil sensor isn't that reliable for min/max, you need to add many times and average out.
Older engines 'may' burn a little less with 05w40 LL04 grade fully synthetic oil (where the 40 value is slightly more stable/thicker at high temps).
Should really be no worse than 1L/1600km average, if I had 1L/600km and was unable to fix then I'd be using cheaper oil ;) and forget about it.
The N52 oil consumption often due to CCV breather malfunction (oil sucked into inlet and burnt), worn bore/piston rings burning oil in cylinders (when extreme you see blue smoke at high RPM) or visible oil leaks or sometimes valve stem leak down (after engine has been significantly overheated and cooked valve stem rubbers can perish).

Thank you for the answear, I think is the CCV, i will replace it and i will made another video to let you guys know if that solved the problem.
I don't see any oil leaks. During covid, i've let it parked in the same spot for almost 2 months, not a drip on the parking lot. Also i don't have any blue smoke at high rmp.

I have good result with Xado Revitalizant in motorcycle. But it seems you may get better result fixing piston ring. In here people use vegetable oil (palm oil but absolutely avoid castor oil) to reduce that. Try to use ravenol oil. Their oil have low evaporation loss.

You can't solve the high oil consumption by just adding this Motor Protect bottle! You probably need to try the Ceratec additive plus change the motor oil you use. If you use 5W-30 try 5W-40 or 10W-40. 10W-40 should significantly make different along with Ceratec
