So great! Felton Pilate ll actually commented on CZcams he was honored and that he loved their interpretation. It's awesome that they are being brought back to the forefront with this remake. It paid proper homage without taking away the greatness of the original. And both will be appreciated.
I agree with you Verlita, it is NOT better. No one can take the place of Con Funk Shun and Michael Cooper's version. Anderson's drumline on this and the horns instead of the synthesizer, plus Bruno's insane vocal range, simply made this their own. Much props to Anderson's funky ad libs "the ring a ling, can only mean one thing" and more. Just a fantastic cover and I'm glad Silk Sonic is showing everyone what those of us Baby Boomers have known, our music was AWESOME.
Yeah, Silk Sonic definitely tore this song up & I’m a HUGE fan! They are stupid talented, but idk that it’s better than the original. Certainly updated & they did it musical justice for sure. Also, idk whether it can be said that Silk Sonic would’ve been as great as the acts of the 70s & 80s had they come up at that time. I say that because I think it’s the influence of those acts from the 70’s & 80’s that they pull from, that make them SO DAMN GOOD!!! They are able to take that vibe & feel & modernize it just enough, yet stay true to the groove, the vibe & the feel of that classic sound. It’s a balance I definitely try to find in my own music as well. Bruno is a master of it & both he & Anderson are mega talented musicians! Can’t wait for more from these guys!!

I grew up in a family that is big on old school music, and I have been listening to Con Funk Shun's version for years. J love Silk Sonic's version of this l, but it's not better than the original. This version is for a party, the original version is for the bedroom. Lol. These men tore this up, beautifully.

l was second in the queue when tickets went on sale to the public for Bruno/.Paak and Silk Sonic in Vegas. They will also be doing Miami. They will probably take a break from those dates. I'm sure .Paak is in high demand and I bet we'll see another collaboration album from these two. Why stop when the Iron is smoking hot. .Paak gonna be a very wealthy man soon. Bruno might be heading towards that half a billion mark after this is all said and done. Imma need some of that to raise his babies I had in 2021 .

Later going solo with the help of QUINCY JONES providing PRODUCTION and HEATWAVES *(ROD TEMPLETON) sounds from "OFF THE WALL" to "THRILLER" both ROD and QUINCY were very influential in the making of these particular to solo projects. SilkSonic is a MODERN DAY product of old school GROVES and CLASSIC music 🎶. MICHAEL JACKSON wasn't a BAND equally you don't see the BIGGER picture of all the other GREAT BANDS and SONG of that particular era to compete with. My favorite is PRINCE ROGERS NELSON 78- Until. He was truly a "ONE MAN BAND" of musicianship. *(Musicologist) true genius reflected PRINCE ROGERS NELSON REAL RESPECT for God's Gift to the world seldom NOTICED regarding musicianship and artistic genius examplfed. You know, since Silk Sonic recently has been doing covers of some older songs; such as Con Funk Shun's "Love's train", wouldn't it be interesting if they did a cover of their other song Fun Fun Fun? There are other groups too like Brick which has a single called "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" and "Dazz"! ! ! There are so many of these bands out there that I'm confident that Silk Sonic can cover or remix Tastefully. These boys are talented anyway and I know that Bruno can handle it as well as Anderson on the drums. That live music just guarantees it!
