This song does not come from that animated video so many here are quick to reference. It was made years before. Camel by Camel was made back in 1985. You can take any song and use it for any video you want and it wonât change the meaning for the song. Playing and enjoying the song should not make you think that person watched what you watched. Someoneâs first time listening to a song can have an emotional imprint, but that can dampen over time with proper conditions. All I am doing is reminding you that, unless the song is made specifically for said media, you should not assume a fellow listener has watched what you watched; especially a song that is 36 years old.
100% agree. Probably this was the first time many people got to know about Sandy Marton, a big Italo Disco singer. (though it's not the first time for italo disco in general, since Song For Denise was used for w i d e p u t i n).
But I first listened to him some years ago from cassettes that my parents liked to record from the radio back in the 80s.
Then some weeks ago I got to know this meme but I never watched the original source, to not being "scarred".

@@twistedstrength. sorry I wasn't clear, he didn't make Song for Denis; the misconception is there because the Italo Disco scene was huge in Europe, and everyone wanted to be famous - I know a good chunk of groups who made just 1 or 2 songs, and then dropped out of the scene (Sandy Marton did the same thing, and now does other things while receiving royalties for his few songs)

this comment section is full of little kids saying the same thing over and over so instead of the mind-numbing garbage you're seeing everywhere else in the comments, here's a bit of history:
The original Ankha animation was created by Minus8 (i love his stuff, he has a yt channel but hes also on a few others sites wink wink nudge nudge) and used a paper mario song. It wasn't as popular, but it was loved among the people who'd seen it.
The one using Camel by Camel was made by Zone as a tribute to Minus8. (i havent seen anything from them, save ankha) It had a lot of references to the original (including the iconic *leg cross* ) and was spread over tiktok (I believe?) and eventually internet-wide.
I watched both animations (before they were popular) and while Minus8 did amazing, i prefer Zone's due to the animation quality being so much higher and it just feels more well made.
