James has anxiety cos during his accident he was silent and black and in the episode Dirty Objects he got splashed with tar and he was silent so he got reminded of his accident and it also explain why he doesn't like to see scratches

James has kind of become one of my favourites since my recent L&Y obsession, so I'm kind of biased lol, regardless I still think he's a great character, also having seen the surviving L&Y class 27 in real life, I think it's a great little engine deserving of more love

I would be very very wary of using "Reading Between the Lines" for these videos - Christopher makes many mistakes and contradicts his Father's work a good few times.
I'd recommend just sticking to "It's People, History and Railways" for the future, as that better represents the Rev Awdry's actual intentions.

As someone from Ireland and is used to the canon UK dub, I think I like Rob Rackstraw's voice, however, Kerry Shale’s voice for James might fit Top Hat.

Yeah, I think Rob Rackstraw does a better job differenciating him from Gordon. Gordon is already the pompous uptight one, James however is the cocky loudmouthed little shit. Plus James having a more 'common' less dignified voice kinda fits him thinking he's Gordon's equal despite being a smaller lower tier build. Reminds me of George Carlin's nasally Brooklyn voice in the classic era.
I still think Keith Wickham is the best James however, gave him a more slick mischevious sounding voice.

Same, almost. I don't mind either dubs however Gordon Is the exception. His US voice sounds much more powerful than his UK voice. And I used both Dubs of Sodor Surprise Day for the comparison too.
