I loved Prof. X and Juggernaut's back-and-forth duel at the end. No holds barred.

If I have the chance to get the first core box for 50% off is it worth it or should I buy the new quart box to get into the game
It really depends on if you want the additional tokens/cards/templates/terrain that come with the core. At this time, the movement tools have been updated, as have the tokens. The characters are available, with updated cards, in their affiliation boxes.
I think there is some value, there, in the form of the terrain and models, but the new core box has everything updated, great new models, and nothing is locked out for you.
I would probably grab the new box, to be honest
What is happening with the X men? The last official thing I saw was about Namor
Did you catch the whole House of X/Krakoa era of the X-Men? If not, I recommend at least finding a video on it.
