I used to listen to this everytime i would write an essay so that it would feel like an epic task. Now i listen to this song and it gives me the anxiety of having to write an essay even though I've already graduated.

I used to listen to this on repeat in high school and it's probably been 5 or 6 years since i last listened. doesn't shake me to my core any less now than it did then
It never subsides. It builds tension and intrigue the ENTIRE SONG. It's like "Struggle of Sadness" from Yuyu Hakusho. It never ONCE properly resolves because it's is not supposed to. And it does so BEAUTIFULLY!
It's almost cruel.
Can we just appreciate the two guys on the far left and far right keeping everyone's tempo and beat for the entire song. Everyone else got to do awesome solos and flourishes and then you have those two playing like lightening, keeping up the tempo underneath them for the ENTIRE SONG. What a fucking boss.
I'm not gonna lie, I thought they were all the same people but edited to be in the same room
they switched constantly from who held the beat, who held the melody, harmony. everyone got a bit of melody and harmony.
Well that's often the cello's only job so I think they're used to it...
This song will be much less powerful without them.

Something that I've only just noticed listening to this back, is how each cello has its own voice, it's own personality. Much like their players, no doubt.
Of course. This is a video.
I played cello in HS, and I slowly learned that some cellos "liked" certain sounds more. My mother named her violin after playing it for hours to get a grasp of it's voice, and what name would suit it best.
The cellos have their own voice. The players are all exactly the same, though. Quite dull.

I love when each musician has their own little solo in pieces like this. For example, 1:20. Not only does it give them a chance to show their personal skill, but it allows the listener to hear the difference between individual instruments. Like you can hear different sound/tone qualities with each instrument, making it sound like each cello has its own unique voice and I find that really fascinating.

Since cello's are handmade, never made out of the exact same plank, different bows on the strings, etc... They indeed each have their own voice :)

My favorite thing about CZcams is that the amazing and incredible artist in the world, like this, can showcase their own talent for everyone to see. It allows for so much more opportunity, as well as creative freedom, then traditional entertainment outlets. So much talent and creativity is wasted, lost, or never seen waiting for record labels, or Hollywood to never discover them. This was a freakin masterpiece! DravenGal Oh yes! I’ve read it! Achingly depressing and haunting, not to mention extremely enthralling. I like to tell people you could get hitched on the book no matter what page you started reading on. The only complaint I have is perhaps that the ending felt pretty pointless and tacked on, but that’s minor. It’s still easily the most gorgeously written book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading-leaps and bounds better that Leroux’s original novel, in my opinion.
